Can you use this glitter glue on a starbucks cold cup? Or can we just use brite tone to do this exact same thing? Or are we going to need to use a seprate sealer like the e6000 spray to achieve this?
I do NOT make tumblers OR keychains but I am trying desperately to find something that will spark my daughter's interest. Although I have a successful home based business to my dismay it is not something she is interested in AT ALL !! I learned a lot for your video and through the glitter tumbler was pretty until I saw the St. Louis Cardinals tumbler in the back being made. I had to look at the date of your video as in all honesty I received a tumbler like that for my birthday!! IF it was from you by some 1 in a million chance I LOVE IT!! Goooooooo Cards!!!
I love your videos you get straight to the point without all the extra verbiage they’re easy to follow along and so helpful. I will be trying to Tumblr soon I hope they turn out even half as good as yours.
I think I got carried away with my chunky glitter and it’s thick with a few bumps, can I sand it down some before sealing with the glitter glue? It’s my first cup
Hi! Newby here! I'm looking into switching from epoxy. Just trying to simplify it for my brain lol. So really the only thing that you absolutely have to do different is just use the bright tone instead of epoxy and you can't put alcohol inks directly on the cup?
basically yes! You will do more coats with brite tone but it takes like 30 secons to apply each coat and you re apply every 4 hours! No mixing , no intense ppe
Mine should be in tomorrow! I can’t wait to use it! When sealing scrapbook paper with the glue would you add the water with the glue, or do you think it will mess up the paper?
your tutorials are really making me want to start making tumblers! I have an etsy shop and I am still figuring out my niche. Have you ever used the presanded tumblers from makerflo?
After we add the decal to our finished tumbler do we need to apply brite tone over it or e6000 spray or Modge podge? I couldnt find the video you had mentioned at the end about the steps to adding the decal 😞
Hi Alison.... just wondering, if you need to do a second coat of glitter - you just have to do the same.. right... add the glitter glue and repeat? last question, do you only have to seam once? I sealed twice, and now after I put the first layer of BT there are pools of a milky look... trying to wait if they disappear at the 4 hour point, if not I will have to restart... YIkes
I add a second coat with glitter glue. just let the first coat dry, brush on glue, and then add glitter. Let that dry 2 hours and then you are good to go. it could be that the glitter glue wasn't dry enough. did they clear up?
So we are letting the cup spin for 2 hours then flattening it with parchament after the 2 hours of drying? Sorry i tried rewatching to understand🙈 also any kind of 220 grit sand paper will do or does it need to be dry or wet sandpaper? Thank you!
Just curious What is the black thing that is inside the cup. Def looks like it would help keep stuff off the inside of the cup. And gonna give the glitter glue a try tonight. Lol actually gonna be using it to help repair a spot on my granddaughter cup she dropped and took a big chip out of and of course it wasn’t fully cured for a30 days amd hit the concrete lol
Hi. great video. I am waiting to receive my glue. After you sand and add the universal white is there a waiting period before you can add the glue? Can you start adding it right when you feel it dry or do you need to wait the gas off period I hear about with other paints. I am new at this. Thanks
Minimum dry time for all of the paints and top coats is 4 hours before recoating! It dries from the top down so it will feel dry before it's actually dry so it's important to always wait that 4 hours!
Hello. Thank you for all the great info. Do you have to sand the cups like from save a cup that are already gloss glitter. I want to add waterslide and/or vinyl or stickers. Im worried if I sand it i will mess up the cup but want to make sure the crystalac works.
I didn’t sand between layers I did one sanding at the end and one last coat after. My cups came out beautifully I love it! I’m attempting water slides tomorrow 😬 good luck
What you need to do? Or buy? Because the step by step is in this video. If you're wondering what to buy, watch this: ua-cam.com/video/t4xlALmd7pU/v-deo.html
This is permanent and designed to adhere to metal, glass, and more. MP is basically watered down Elmer's glue that doesn't have the bonding agents to make it permanent. Also, mod podge takes an extremely long time to fully dry. Could be days.
Help! I've followed this tutorial step-by-step so many times and every time I start to sand my chunky glitter tumblers I end up sanding off the color, leaving ugly white plastic spots all over. What am I doing wrong?! I am using the CrystaLac glitter glue, flattening my tumblers, adding three (if not more) coats of bright tone before sanding, and only using 400 grit sandpaper. I'm so confused! :(

I’ve been watching you all week ! You are so helpful 😂
I used it today for the first time. I think am going to love it. Thanks so much
glad to hear that!!
Thank you Alison this is one of the best/most helpful videos I have seen :)
so Glad it was helpful! Thank you for watching
So excited for my glue to come! Thank you for your videos!
Thank you for watching!! Hope it comes soon!
What did you use in 3rd step?
First I want to say You are the best, you are very easy to follow and ive learned so much from you. question can you make your own glitter glue??
Thank you! I don't think so...you'll want to buy it from the crystalac company!
I think I got carried away with my chunky glitter and it’s thick with a few bumps, can I sand it down some before sealing with the glitter glue? It’s my first cup

This is everything I needed to know! Thank you so much! My glue came today!
Yay, have fun!!!
I still have bald patches what do I do
I have a couple of questions
Can you do this on a acrylic tumbler?
Also can i use tacky glue?
And last do you need a turner to apply brote tone??
You can do this on acrylic tumblers just prep first. I don't recommend tacky glue. and no you don't need a turner!
Love this.. Will you restock soon for new orders?
Mine should be in tomorrow! I can’t wait to use it! When sealing scrapbook paper with the glue would you add the water with the glue, or do you think it will mess up the paper?
Yay! So I just did some cardstock and didn't add water to the glue, but my brush was a little damp. It worked great!
@@AlisonCrafts ok great! I can’t wait to try it on the scrapbook paper!!
When is the next video coming?!
Do you still need to sand glass for prep with the glitter glue?
Prep is always very important no matter the project.
Is there a video on how to seal a vinyl decal after the cup is smooth? Great video!
Working on it as we speak! Hopefully next week!
your tutorials are really making me want to start making tumblers! I have an etsy shop and I am still figuring out my niche. Have you ever used the presanded tumblers from makerflo?
I haven't yet but they should be delivered on Monday! I know other Crystalac folx do though!
Did you add the fine glitter at same time as chunky or with second coat
same time!
After we add the decal to our finished tumbler do we need to apply brite tone over it or e6000 spray or Modge podge? I couldnt find the video you had mentioned at the end about the steps to adding the decal 😞
You can just go right to Brite Tone over the decal!
YIkes
I have this same exact question
I add a second coat with glitter glue. just let the first coat dry, brush on glue, and then add glitter. Let that dry 2 hours and then you are good to go. it could be that the glitter glue wasn't dry enough. did they clear up?
Can you use this on blanks and use ugly resin to cover? Thank you!
You can use it on blanks. I don't know what ugly resin is lol do you mean UV? 🤣 Yes you can add it over the top!
So we are letting the cup spin for 2 hours then flattening it with parchament after the 2 hours of drying? Sorry i tried rewatching to understand🙈 also any kind of 220 grit sand paper will do or does it need to be dry or wet sandpaper? Thank you!
400 grit sand paper. And yeah I usually have it spin those two hours!
When I try to buy the kit it says it doesn't exist
Can you recommend other glue for glitter as I can't get Crystalac glue in UK I am afraid? Thanks would modge podge work?
You can use the E6000 pump spray to seal. I would apply my glitter with Brite Tone though! Mod Podge should be avoided if possible
Just curious What is the black thing that is inside the cup. Def looks like it would help keep stuff off the inside of the cup. And gonna give the glitter glue a try tonight. It looks like its just the foam part of her turner’s arm
When doing the base coat, How many ML of brite Tone would you use on a 30 Oz tumblers?
like to apply glitter? probably about 4 mls
If you used spray paint to base coat the tumbler, do you have to wait 48 hours before using glitter glue like is necessary with BT?
Yes you need to give it the 48 hours!

You definitely have to sand it in order for the crystalac to stick unfortunately

Hi instead of glitter glue can I use mod podge?
Yes you can, but make sure you let it dry about 24 hours.
Can you use crystalac for glass as well?
Yes!
With smooth surface Tumblers, for example ones that are just spray painted, how many coats do you typically need.
I usually do a minimum of 6 coats
@@AlisonCrafts Would 6 coats also work if you are just doing fabric?
@@CynTica yes. You want to make sure you have enough built up to keep it protected
@K M well, with work and kids it usually takes me about 2 weeks
Can I use the FNA paints as a base?🤔
Yep!!
Can someone tell me what exactly is what I need to do crystalac for tumblers please

@@AlisonCrafts but you don’t have to wait for it to fully cure to put BT over it right?
@@nikkir1000 mod podge absolutely does need to be dry before BT

Did you put glitter glue on top of your glitter? I seal chunky with two coats and and do 5-6 coats of brite tone before sanding
@@AlisonCrafts Thank you!!
Awesome! Thanks so much!!
:)
I am excited for mine to get here
You're going to love it!
@@AlisonCrafts do you know what the work time is with the glue before it starts drying?
@@stacyminnick5429 you know, I don't have an exact number... I will say I didn't feel rushed when adding glitter. I'd say it's similar to using BT!
@@AlisonCrafts perfect. Thank you
What kind of glitter please
Anna from Painted Valley Designs 💞
HI Alison, so I can use glitter glue with a wet brush to seal instead of e6000 spray?
yes!!
Ahhhh I missed the tapping part!
