"Fungi love the dark, and one day we may be able to turn this fact against them to fight fungal infections. " from a 2005 study looking for defenses against fungi. That is why you see the different infected pulling away from the sunlight and why the clickers are in the dark buildings because they don't love the sun and clickers use echo location for their surroundings. This fact kinda plays into the fireflies whole "if you're lost in the dark follow the light".
😄I was thinking that "pay attention" They were not burning children they were burning dead bodies from people that was infected, That one happened to be a child. Create your theories, and share them, we just saw how fake news was born:)
His daughter (Sarah) wasn't infected. She reacted as anyone would when someone reflects sunlight into your eyes. What you should have been paying attention to is that the the boy with the shiny bracelet was twitching his arm.
This is the answer. He was right to notice the scene - it's one of the first indications that something bad is about to happen - but he paid attention to the wrong kid. Still, at that point you have no idea about the twitching, so it's easier to catch on a second watch. Sarah was concerned about if she had been infected or not, since she did go into the city to fix the watch. But in this episode, we see that it was most likely through grain/flour that the fungal infection spread. And as many others have pointed out before, nobody in the Miller family consumed flour-based food in the entire first episode. They even made a point of showing them avoiding it (biscuits, pancakes, birthday cake, etc.etc.) throughout the episode. So Sarah was probably fine, and died for nothing.
@@NATHANIELJELKS-PLANEJANE-FAN I said "she died for nothing". It means that the soldier didn't need to shoot her, because she was not infected. There was no reason for her to die, which makes it even more sad that he shot her.
Everything can be interpreted differently by different people, even though I think you're certainly following the director's thoughts about that specific scene. The show certainly tries to make us fear that Sarah may end up getting infected (as a red herring since she'll end up getting shot instead), since she's spending time around infected people and in the city. The dialogue in the car scene makes it very clear. So reaching this conclusion can't be so wrong haha
It's one of those things you pay more attention to from a second viewing. Or maybe if you had the opportunity to play the game. As someone who has played the game, upon nothing the twitch, my first thought was that's not a good sign. It was a nice little touch for fans of the game. And a subtle foreshadowing for the lucky newcomers.
“Why do I feel like something bad is always gonna happen?!” Welcome to The Last of Us, where that’s the feeling you will constantly feel even more so for the video game
I actually like it better that you guys haven't played the game. It's really cool getting a perspective from people who have no preconceptions. Because of that, you guys are among the reactors I'm most looking forward to watching. Edit: But mostly you guys, cuz I love ya.
To clarify, the light reflection on Sarah is a normal response, the emphasis on that scene was to show that her classmate’s hand was twitching (the first sign of infection). Its just mean the infection has already spread. As for the infected retracting when sunlight is on them. That’s just how some fungi would react to sunlight. They are more fungi than human at this point.
In the game the fungi starts from a field but here to make more sense the infection starts from Jakarta, one of the largest flour producing places ever. Cause in the original the fungi originated from those kind of products just as here. Joel, Tommy and Sarah only managed to not get infected because of sheer luck, cause they didn't consume any of those products. No pancake, no cookies, no cake.
They managed to turn an escort quest into one of the best games of it's generation. Then they turned that damn thing into a hit TV show. Very impressive.
Holy crap! I didn't even think about that. Great point! I've not played the game, but I'm familiar with it, in general, just from being a gamer. I'd seen the first part (up to losing Sarah) in reactions and such, and I knew the general premise of the game, but that's it. So I'm mostly going in fresh, especially starting with this episode, which is great!! But, to your point...That's so weird. Everyone, literally every gamer, HATES escort quests in games. They're always tedious, the escortee always moves at a different pace (usually slower than you), makes stupid decisions, and it so helpless, they die when a stray alley cat jumps on them. But TLoU turned that entire trope on it's head, and made a masterpice...that's pretty brilliant. I'm really looking forward to the game coming out on PC in March. I owned a PSOne, but never really got into consoles after that...PC Master Race all the way. So I've been denied the opportunity to experience TLoU for all these years. And now, after watching, and LOVING this show so far, it'll be so cool to finally be able to experience it for myself, at long last. :)
The craziest detail I noticed was that the actors never ate anything with flour in the first episode. It spread through the flower from the flower mill in Indonesia. (No pancake mix, didn't eat cookies because they were raisin, no biscuits because of the atkins diet, etc) The doctor mentioned it was the perfect substrate in this episode!
I thinking about that too, also my theory that the scientist was escape and survive for 20 years later, I mean she's already researching this fungal her entire life and must be much expert knowledged about this thing, if you remember that there's something special about Ellie too, it gonna be huge if the scientist manage to meet her in the future episode, just theory but who knows
Sarah was not infected. The infection spread through flour. Yeast. Yeast is a fungus. Remember they didn't have pancake mix. Joel forgot the cake - they had no flour that day. The light from the other student's bracelet wouldn't you look up if a light was flashing in your eyes? (and that kid was shaking because HE was infected, btw). Sarah's neighbours were eating biscuits, and raisin cookies. Sarah WAS worried that she was infected because they'd said the city, but she wasn't. This episode shows it's the flour. And sunlight dries out fungus. That's why they were avoiding it.
When I watched it myself I was so shocked what happened to Tess but I never noticed when she said "I have never asked you for anything" and she said she never asked him to feel the way she felt. If I would've heard that I would've been way more emotional. I like watching the blind reactions too because I have never even heard of TLOU until this show
Her backstory (that they were originally going to show in this episode but ended up cutting) they say that her husband and son fell infected to the virus she killed her husband but was unable to kill her son locking in the basement. Originally we were gonna see a basement door and hear pounding sounds (as a cold open) signifying that he is likely still alive in Clicker form.
I don't think the light was meant to suggest Sarah was infected, it was just getting her attention and meant to suggest the guy twitching might be infected. anyone would be a little annoyed if light kept flickering in their eyes
@@CharifRocka I honestly don't watch any other movie/series reactors, they just pop up on my recommendations but as somebody who has played both games, I can imagine how some would be lol
That kiss is awesome! Pure Horror! I am an ex-US Army Combat Medic, I did 2 tours in Iraq. I have been working as a paramedic in NYC for 14 years! I thought I have seen everything, and that gave me tingles, Holy Shit!
Sara wasn't infected. In this episode we find out that the fungus was spreading through the grain/flour. They ran out of pancake mix, Joel forgot to buy a birthday cake, and Sara didn't eat the cookies she made with Mrs. Sadler because they had raisins in them. Mr. Adler was feeding biscuits to his mother or mother-in-law and I presume they ate the cookies. The scientist from Jakarta said that flour was the perfect medium for the fungus, and flour is used worldwide. Then they show Ellie eating a chicken sandwich on rye. Ellie has never known the world before this happened. The infected aren't affected by light. The ones that were laying on the ground all turned over like a wave, to show that they are all connected.
In the first episode, you saw The Runners. This episode you saw Stalkers and Clickers. I imaging we will see the Bloaters in the next episode. This show is hands down the best adaptation ever made. The question has been answered if it was even possible. Now we know.
@13:18 - It wasn't the light reflection that his daughter concerned about in the class room. She was noticing that her classmate's hand was twitching in a weird way. In other words, she was picking up on the signs that the classmate and later the old lady had been infected.
Tess doesn’t get enough love… yes Joel’s beginning produced massive emotions, but Tess’s backstory was offscreen - she protected ellie the most from the start. Joel wanted to shoot her, tess wanted to teach her, keep her safe…and get their battery. Lol point being, tess, you nailed it and I thank you. If y’all ever listen to the official podcast you’d learn that Tess was a mother and wife. Both got infected. Killed the hubby, couldn’t go through with killing her young son (before understanding what the infected turn in to, ya feel) - so “save who you can save” line hit hard -knowing her backstory. Just my own feels… but Tess, you were undoubtedly the most underrated actor in this show. Period.
A FUNGUS is any member of the group of eukaryotic organisms that includes microorganisms such as YEASTS (flour) and MOLDS (in houses), as well as the more familiar MUSHROOMS (what some of us eat ) LOL ( p.s also athlete's foot is a fungus infection lol )
I really enjoy you pointing out all the parts that feel like a game. I didn’t play the game myself but watched some clips and I also had tons and tons of moments watching this show where I could clearly see the scenario playing out as a video game! It was really fun to see the adaptation done like that.
you asked what joel's next move could possibly be, but they said what it was. it was a tense moment so you may have missed it, but tess told him to take ellie to Bill and Frank. in the first episode, it's mentioned that they were joel and tess' smuggling contacts (they were the ines with the radio code ellie was cracking), so they have a network of intel and will likely know where to take ellie next. joel however thinks they won't take her, but tess says joel can convince them.
The actors they had that played the clickers, were fans of the video game, so they imitated the ones from there, and they did a phenomenal job. They basically just let them do whatever because they knew fans of the game would know better than they did how the clickers behave. Finally a director and producers who understand how this should be done and listen to fans and creators of the source material. This show is going to be so good, depending on how they depict the rest. I have high hopes.
Loving the reactions from you two. Your reaction to the first episode was my first intro to your channel, and I ended up binging a ton of your videos afterwards. Love the channel, and your reactions and commentary are so much fun to watch! Can't wait for you to continue watching. This episode was really fun to watch for many different reasons for me. I live in the city that they shot a ton of the show (Calgary, Alberta). Seeing all the city landmarks in the background, or realizing I drive on the overpass that Tess, Ellie and Joel were walking on was a very surreal moment. It was fun to see parts of the city be turned into the overgrown, strangely beautiful apocalypse that the Last of Us is known for. And I have to admit, the showrunners did a good job accurately depicting what life is like living in Alberta (I'm kidding... mostly anyway). Anyways, love the videos, and can't wait to see more!
Dude, what? Sarah wasn’t infected. That scene was to tell us the audience that the infection was already spread. They showed you in the first episode the symptoms for the infection and twitching and coughing are two of them, that kid was twitching and another one was coughing. That’s why that scene. The infection spread through flour, in this episode they hinted even more at that and in the first episode Sarah didn’t had the rights ingredients to make pancakes so she made eggs instead, then the neighbor offered them biscuits, then the cookies and last Joel forgot to buy the birthday cake, that’s why they didn’t get infected. 18:50 Like she said, she never been outside of the wall so of course she is bad at this and she never seen a Clicker before, this was her first time. And I wish people stop it with the “SHOOT IT IN THE HEAD!” Shooting in the head is not easy like they do it on TWD, in here it was more realistic. There’s a reason why cops shoots at the torso, it’s the biggest part of the body and easiest to shot and they are trained. This is not a video game so him shooting at the torso when he was in stress was realistic and then he shot to the head when he was calmer and had a better shot. Especially these infected they move quick and twitch a lot (that’s why Tess miss that one shot, they twitch a lot) it would be almost impossible to hit them in the head. In TWD even when the main characters are running they hit them in the head, it’s ridiculous. I know the Walkers are slow but still…the infected are way more difficult and they are durable too, they can only die from one bullet with a shotgun to the head but they can’t with anything else, they are durable asf and they perfectly captured that in this episode.
The Jakarta metro area is 35 million people. That's like eliminating the New York City metro area twice in a row. That's eliminating Paris 3 times. For her to say that, that means she is for real.
Last of Us zombies are alive not dead. Fungus controls humas brains who are alive. So, the guy that was dead in the doorway wasn't going to hop up and attack them. The fungus needs a live host. So, you can actually kill these zombies by gun shots to the body. And if you noticed, they actually bleed out when you kill them.
Loving these reactions! one of my favorite blind ones i've watched. it's so fun watching the different types of reactions from first timers vs. longtime fans
The moment the Mycology specialist was made aware that the point of contamination occurred at a grain & flour manufacturing facility along with 14 potential missing carriers she pretty much was able to assess just how hopeless they're case was in trying to contain all of this. The fact that the fungus had already reached a food source as a potential means of transmission means there really was no telling how many potential carriers were already out in the entire city that were yet to surface, so bombing the city seemed to be the only logical solution to attempt to restrict the spread and the way in which that woman conveyed that info truly expressed just how dread she must have felt in that moment.
Well in game it was explained it spread through a lot of South American imports (where the actual cordyceps exists IRL) hence stuff like coffee, avocados, chocolate etc. Hence why humanity was fucked, most of the original infected weren’t bitten but had just eaten infected food.
@13:25 I believe it was the boy with the twitchy arm (reflecting the sunlight in his watch) who was infected. Involuntary movements are supposedly one of the first symptoms. Could have been made clearer though, now he just looked liked your average teen, twitching out of boredom.
Great reaction, as per usual! Yes, if you noticed in the first episode, they didn’t have pancakes for breakfast, ended up not eating the neighbors biscuits when offered, didn’t eat the homemade cookies because they were raisin and not chocolate chip, and he ended up forgetting the birthday cake! I’m sure tons of people have mentioned all that already, but i didn’t scroll through to check. I look forward to next weeks reaction!!
I love your blind reactions to this show, i feel like reacting to the story is better in the show rather than the game (though, i still love the games) +they made her death more impactful in the show. may as well be the best real life game adaptation yet.
In the intro they mentioned flour being the perfect substrate meaning "the base on which an organism lives or over which it moves." incase you don't know yeast is a common leavening agent for a lot of baked goods, so yes fungus can live in flour
The biggest bit of information from that opening scene eplaining the rapid spread of the infection around the world (this opening scene took place only two days before the opening Joel/Sarah scenes in episode 1) was not that 14 potentially infected people were missing, but that the fungus could be in the flour (and other grain) already shipped out to other countries. People were already consuming it in their morning pancakes... and biscuits... and cake.... and raisin cookies.... In the first episode, I don't think Sarah was really "reacting" to the light reflected off the kid's bracelet in class. Her attention was drawn to it. I think that was more about the kid twitching (the beginnings of the infection) than Sarah's reaction.
About the fungus in the gain(s), almost every time we see people eating in 2023-24, they are eating meat and/or vegetables - or very old Chef Boyardee. The one time there might be grain is with the commune in the pie crust, but I'm not sure and pie crust can be made with nuts, for example, among other things.
With regards to the whole 'fungus can live in flour?' thing? Absolutely!! I grew up as a farm kid, and in college I worked summers on a massive wheat farm (I went to school in central Washington, which is mostly wheat fields broken up very occasionally by small towns), and one of the biggest issues we had was dealing with various fungi (mostly molds and lichens) trying to grow on the wheat. Fungi LOOOOOOOVE grains!! So, to answer your (implied) question, yes, if tainted grain was shipped to Jakarta (the flour mill they're talking about is literally the largest one in the world, and it gets shipments from all over the world, then ships them back out, pretty much round the clock), processed, and shipped out, there would *DEFINITELY* have been fungi/fungal spores on the grain, and it would have been ground up into the flour. There's basically no treatment done to the grain, other than washing it and milling off the outer husks, so there's nothing in the process that would have killed fungal spores, because that would also have destroyed the grain, so the cordyceps spores would have shipped with the flour, and out into stores. Because, like the doctor said, flour would be the perfect substrate (ie a perfect environment for the fungal spores to wait, be safe, feed, and multiply). The timeline is probably a little iffy. They probably should have moved the prelude of this one to a few more days earlier, since would have taken time for the tainted flour to get all over the world, but even in 2003, international shipping methods were pretty speedy, so it's not *totally* unrealistic. Anyway, there's your horrifying thought for the day. :D
Most fungus can't survive baking though, temperature is too high, in fact only prions can survive those types of temperatures and even they can struggle.
@@duitk Yeah, I thought about that too, and it's still bothering me. I'm currently working under the assumption that it must have something to do with the whole 'they mutated/adapted to tolerate higher temperatures' thing. I'm *hoping* they explain it to us in another prelude. Either that, or it'll be one of those 'video game logic, so just suspend your disbelief' things. 😁
@@arklytte yeah it's all right, it's fiction not everything has to make sense for it to be good. Other thing to consider is that there are certain areas that after the first wave of infections occurs would be safer. Cold areas, and dry and hot areas. Alaska, northern Canada and deserts in the southwest should be hostile to the fungus. It's hosts and itself would die from the extreme temperatures , and it won't have water from the environment to feed on. So after the first chaos and after a couple of winters/summers, people should head north or head to the deserts. Places where it does not rain much should be safe from the fungus as it needs water to do it's thing.
In real life the actual fungus has different "variants" each of them affects different types of insects. That's probably why in The Last of Us the one that affects humans is not affecting those little ducks and other animals. That specific one affects only humans specifically. Sarah was not infected. She was reacting to light the same way I would, if a random light was in my face I would try to look for the source of it. But maybe the kid with the shiny bracelet was infected, their arm was twitching a bit. Or maybe the kid was just tapping the table, I couldn't tell for sure if they were tapping on purpose or not. 🤷🏻♀️
4:11 30 hours, 14 missing potential victims not counting Patient Zero with a time table of 5 minutes to 24 hours to full take over. That is terrifying. And that is why this Doctor made that poor Military man poop himself with one word: Bomb. 16:56 The jump scare is strong in this one, ten gold stars to the make-up department. Five Gold stars for the Actors as the Clickers. Five Gold stars for Set designers. 22:48 Tess is a Certified Badass, Most Badass of all the Badasses in the History of Badassiness. We are going to induct her into the Halls of Badassiness. Rest well you Badass.
13:19 the kid with the watch was infected because one of the symptoms is spasming and the kids hand was doing just that. Thus causing the light to reflect into Sarah's face and probably her eyes.
13:24 the first episode spent a lot of time showing us what the Millers did and didn't eat--they didn't eat food with flour. Sarah ate the same things Joel at and Joel's still here. Had Sarah survived the night, she likely would be around now like Joel and Tommy. Sarah was annoyed by her classmate's metal bracelet--his twitchy hand reflected sunlight into Sarah's eyes. Sarah was concerned because Nana Adler was infected and she spent several hours over at their home. No one knew what was happening or how it happened either--the news blamed it on a new "street drug" according to the broadcast Sarah was watching when Joel came home. 20 years later, they all likely found out what it was, given their knowledge of cordyceps now. The Mycologist's report likely found its way to WHO and the rest of the world--Boston was bombed, which was her suggestion to stop the spread. 13:38 I've seen others saying that too, but that wasn't the case in the game. They attack whenever in buildings, outdoors, night or day. It didn't matter. They weren't weakened by the environment. Fungi don't have an aversion to light in real life either, which is why I think it's weird to assume that the infected would. Not all fungi need sunlight as they don't produce photosynthesis like plants. That have a parasitic relationship with the environment, leaching off their hosts for substance. When they start to fruit (sprout) they start to give off spores looking for new hosts, and I think that's what we're seeing here 13:39. We'll have to wait and see what the live-action version is going to do with this mythos as it isn't exactly the same as the game, though it's very close. Mushrooms might favor dark and moist places, but if think of your own surroundings, I bet you can find places where they also thrive in sunlight too. 14:02 It's only been a day since she left with Joel and Tess. Her chicken sandwich was cooked. While we normally don't leave meat out in the States. I've learned that you can and it'll be fine. Places like Japan that have boxed lunches have cooked food that sits on shelves/tables all day and they're fine. You'd need to be cautious during hot and humid weather, but during weather with average to cold temperatures, you're good. 21:02 it happened in the museum when they were together. She got pinned by one of the clickers while Joel and Ellie got pinned by one--that's when it happened ='( This is also why she suddenly turned sour and testy towards the end. She wanted to hand Ellie off before she turned, and possibly have a little time with Joel too. 22:28 You lose Tess early on in the game too. Actually at this point in the story and she's infected in the same way, but here exit from the story is different. The live-action version is by far the worse one! Still, it fits with how they've changed the Cordyceps, as her death shows us more into their being. 23:47 I think better question is how many others were like her, but were instead killed because everyone's been conditioned to murder people that test red to save the many. Ellie's alive because of Marlene, and I think we'll get that backstory, so I'll keep quiet about that. There were nearly 8 billion people at the start of this problem. How long would it have taken to reduce that number significantly? No one used nukes, as they wanted humanity to survive, they napalmed the hell out of cities the world over. The number of infected surely skyrocketed, but you have to wonder if some third world countries or those isolated by water survive relatively unscathed. Anyway, I think it's safe to assume the world population is still somewhere in the millions and of those there are likely others that are also immune, but likely don't even know it--there's no test for that. Ellie was bitten and because of Marlene she lived and they learned that a person can survive a bite. This series is sooooo good. I'm so happy we have it, I'm going to miss it when it gone, but I'll enjoy the hell out of it while it's here.
So it has been thought for a while, that cordyceps attaches to the brain of the insects it infects. Ant, wasps, butterflies, moths, etc. However there was a paper published in 2017 that uses AI to generate a map of what the inside of an insect effected by cordyceps might look like. The findings actually suggested that it actually might leave the majority of the brain alone, highjacking just the motor neurons themselves, and creating a kind of barrier that simply cuts off the brain from the rest of the body. The implication is that, if these insects have sentience to begin with, then it's possibly they remain sentient when infected, but simply have no control over what is happening. So - to make it even more horrifying, that would mean that if it infected humans like this - we would all be trapped in our bodies, unable to stop ourselves. If it affected our whole brain, we would still have an awareness, an experience of the world still, it would just be a different "us" in the driver's seat. If it did it this way, we would still be ourselves, still sitting in the driver's seat - only it's driving itself now. Like trapped in syndrome only your body isn't paralyzed. Absolutely. Horrifying.
They're not all clickers. There are runners, stalkers, clickers, and bloaters. Clickers are ones that have been infected so long that the overgrowth takes over their face and so they use echolocation. They're much stronger than an average person.
Just binged your 1st two reactions. Solid stuff. I hope you play both games afterwards to be in a different perspective for season 2. And by that, I mean just for variety. It's cool being able to go in fresh like you are also. Earned a sub
I’ve never played a single game, I have an idea what this is about but nothing in detail. So far I really enjoy the show, not a big solo player game fan but the show is great
I worked as a war reporter for 12 years and Indonesia in 2003 was a fuckin shitshow. They hit the nail with the overall vibe in that restaurant. People used to leave in a patrol car and disappear.
I love seeing you guys reaction to the clickers that's how I felt playing the games and the clickers sounds even worse in pt 2 😂😂love seeing people who haven't played the game watch the show
The flickering light on Sarah was meant to show the student flicking their wrist randomly which was causing it, suggesting *they* were infected. We have no reason to suspect Sarah was, nor does it matter.
You referring to clickers as "that part of the game," oh, sweet summer child! 😛 But I know what you mean. I could never. Also, feeling anxious 24/7 is part of the experience. You're doing it just right 😂😭🙏
she can’t share her chicken sandwich. Fungi live in wheat, flour, and there was some probably in Ellie’s sandwich but she can of course eat the sandwich
Clickers will be the least of your troubles in the game, it’s the stalkers that will freak you out. They’re intelligent and will hide from you then ambush when the time is right. Watch out for them!
I don't think Sarah was infected in the first episode. I think the kid with the bracelet was as his hand was twitching a lot. The light was just getting in Sarah's eyes!
OMG I JUST FIGURED SOMETHING OUT - based on the intro mentioning infected/tainted flour: Joel forgetting the pancake mix and cake that day is what prevented the trio from getting infected (!) Am I the only one who didn't pick up on that til now? Pls say no
There's a theory why Tess let the infected for the tendrils into her mouth, and that's that the infection was taking her over and she was losing control.
Nice
Darkness and moisture right
😄I was thinking that "pay attention" They were not burning children they were burning dead bodies from people that was infected, That one happened to be a child.
Sarah Died From A Gunshot Wound, After The Soldier Shot Joel In The Field While Holding Her, So Her Dying Didn't Come Out Of Nowhere
I think the light reflection on Sarah in the first episode was showing that the person with the bracelet was infected because they were twitching.

Yeah show should always be able to stand on its own. Arcane did a great job at that too
“Oh it looks so gross” trust me, the next phase of infection is BEYOND terrifying - even the one after you would literally scream 😬😬
"You showing off your rainbow?" - Yes, get the happiness in while you can.
I think he got the base idea from Children Of Men. But instead of immune it's the only woman who can become pregnant on earth
The actors?
It's not yeast though. Has nothing to do with yeast. It was cordyceps growing in the flour.
You know you’re screwed when the scientist says your doomed and to just bomb the frickin world
I don't think the light was meant to suggest Sarah was infected, it was just getting her attention and meant to suggest the guy twitching might be infected. anyone would be a little annoyed if light kept flickering in their eyes
I've seen a couple other channels post their reactions and I told myself nope, I'll wait until you guys upload!
Refreshing to not hear about the game every other second huh. The reactors who've played cannot help themselves.
@@CharifRocka I honestly don't watch any other movie/series reactors, they just pop up on my recommendations but as somebody who has played both games, I can imagine how some would be lol
16:03 arm grab got me. Helllo, subscribed 😂
That kiss is awesome! Pure Horror! I am an ex-US Army Combat Medic, I did 2 tours in Iraq. I have been working as a paramedic in NYC for 14 years! I thought I have seen everything, and that gave me tingles, Holy Shit!
I haven't been that creeped out since The Thing 1982. It was perfection in being disgusting and unsettling
"It's science Cody, like you've never seen a nipple " 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I love the Aubrey drawings!
4:50 "Fungus can live in flour...?" Dude, you know how your bread can get moldy? That's fungus buddy...
God I can’t tell you how many nightmares clickers gave me as a kid
The actors they had that played the clickers, were fans of the video game, so they imitated the ones from there, and they did a phenomenal job. They basically just let them do whatever because they knew fans of the game would know better than they did how the clickers behave. Finally a director and producers who understand how this should be done and listen to fans and creators of the source material. This show is going to be so good, depending on how they depict the rest. I have high hopes.
I'd love to see a source on this because from what I remember seeing, they got the same actors who did the original mo-cap
@@StinkyBuster it was on a behind the scenes thing, an extra when they were talking about the clickers.
They also got the same voice actors who made the clicks in the game to make the clicks in the show
Loving the reactions from you two.
Actually the infected on the first episode are called "runners", not "clickers".
Came for the reaction, but subscribed for Aubrey’s drawings
My fave thing about this series, is how they took the time to use practical make up on the infected instead of the now expected cgi 😊
Loving these reactions! one of my favorite blind ones i've watched. it's so fun watching the different types of reactions from first timers vs. longtime fans
The scene in the museum greatly reminds me of the kitchen scen with the velociraptors in Jureasic park
0:36 for the reaction it's better that you've not played the game (imo).
you should put that in the title
In the intro they mentioned flour being the perfect substrate meaning "the base on which an organism lives or over which it moves."
incase you don't know yeast is a common leavening agent for a lot of baked goods, so yes fungus can live in flour
Haha you said it looked like crackron 😂 - 216 here - love your reactions!
His commentary is life I swear
Beautiful art Aubrey!
If part 1 brings you fear. Then part 2 you will be terrified
Anna Torv, she was perfect in Fringe. One of my most favourite series Ever.
Yo!!! Shout to the NF hoodie. I love NF. He is my favorite artist. So awesome seeing that
Flour being infected with yeast like ergot is a very common issue, if it gets too wet.
The fungi spread through Cocoa and coffee seeds
9:41 it’s crazy I actually live in Akron 🤣🤣
Thank you! Yeah we’re planning to play it on stream when it comes to Pc in March when Season 1 ends can’t wait
There is nothing but pain and despair in this series.. have fun.
I don't know how they could even breath in that fungus building, not only the fungus but the dust and rot, I would have been coughing up a storm.
"looks like akron" i think blind wave said the same thing when reacting to the show lol
loving the new bling!!
Cant wait to see you guys play the game for the first time
"Save who you can save" ❤
I love seeing you guys reaction to the clickers that's how I felt playing the games and the clickers sounds even worse in pt 2 😂😂love seeing people who haven't played the game watch the show
The flickering light on Sarah was meant to show the student flicking their wrist randomly which was causing it, suggesting *they* were infected. We have no reason to suspect Sarah was, nor does it matter.
Your kiddo is so wonderful
You referring to clickers as "that part of the game," oh, sweet summer child! 😛 But I know what you mean. I could never. Also, feeling anxious 24/7 is part of the experience. You're doing it just right 😂😭🙏
When I first played game back in 2013 I knew Tess wasn't "in it for the long haul"
I mean the front of the box was just Joel and Ellie
Fungus is neither animal nor plant.
Fun fact.. clickers wer same actors from the game....and it shows.. that revelation was perfect 😂
That jakarta scene is chef kiss.... ❤
I would love to see Shorts of funny moments in your reactions!
“curb stomp it”😂😂 wwe brother👊
she can’t share her chicken sandwich. Fungi live in wheat, flour, and there was some probably in Ellie’s sandwich but she can of course eat the sandwich
I like that you haven't played the game yet. It makes your reactions more epic. 😉 Definitely play the 1st game after this season though!
Joel and ellie greatest duo in history... Eventually... That said some of the npcs are the greatest npcs in history... ❤
chucky being in the center of the video is scary ash😭
Clickers will be the least of your troubles in the game, it’s the stalkers that will freak you out. They’re intelligent and will hide from you then ambush when the time is right. Watch out for them!
The clickers are terrifying in the game
Its Science, Cody!!
Animals body temps can get regulated more than ours
Cody is that a NF sweatshirt cause that's awesome
The clickers are just as terrifying and hard to kill in the game. The show did them justice.
I don't think Sarah was infected in the first episode. I think the kid with the bracelet was as his hand was twitching a lot. The light was just getting in Sarah's eyes!
Fungi is neither plant nor animal. Isn't it fascinating?
“Joel can’t win, dude”
Welcome to The Last Of Us.
OMG I JUST FIGURED SOMETHING OUT - based on the intro mentioning infected/tainted flour: Joel forgetting the pancake mix and cake that day is what prevented the trio from getting infected (!) Am I the only one who didn't pick up on that til now? Pls say no
also they didn't eat the biscuits or the raisin cookies.
woooooooooow
Ellie's knife is honestly the best weapon in the game. Sht don't break like a shiv.
There's a theory why Tess let the infected for the tendrils into her mouth, and that's that the infection was taking her over and she was losing control.
