I've been seeing someone for almost 2 months now and he's pursuing the hell out of me 😊
He has two businesses he runs, he helps out his cousin and his friend with their food truck businesses, works part-time, is a parent, but schedules everything around me. My last relationship, I was placed on the backburner and was an option. I was never mentioned when it came to the future and I was with that clown for 6 years (I guess that makes me kind of a clown too though 🤔) This man makes me THE option. He checks on me, listens to me and does his best to take care of me. He does all of these things you mentioned, especially being open and vulnerable with me and including me in his plans for the future. I know he isn't playing games and he said he will not waste my time. I've been real chill with it and patient, and that has made him chase me more. I'm not playing. I am an introvert and enjoy time by myself, but that makes him want to spend more time with me.

That sounds like a play out of the Player's Playbook to me. Of course there are men that will spend money on a woman because they value her. But he also made the point that if a man spends Time with you and not just money - he's showing that he really values you.

I was with someone for 6 years, who expressed he wanted to buy a house, get married, etc but finances were always an issue. After all those years when I decided to ask about why he hadn't yet popped the question, his response was "I'm not afraid of commitment, but I'm afraid of committing to the wrong person". I took that as my cue to take my things and go. The relationship was hot and cold and became far too confusing because his actions didn't align with his words/promises. Never stay in a relationship because of *history*, be with the man who works towards a *future* with you. Save your time, energy and emotions until you've found a man you're not simply settling for.

The very words WHERE IS THIS RELATIONSHIP GOING is enough to make Me cringe! BUT it is very necessary to find out where you stand. So here is what I do. I simply ask him if he would be okay with me dating other men while still seeing where things stand with him. If I get any other response than "AW HELL NAW!" then I continue to keep my options open.

Mine tries to put his phone down when we're together, but I know he works with so many people that he sometimes has to answer. He keeps the phone on the table, face up, and when something pops up he has it where I can clearly see it. I try not to look, but sometimes I can't help but glance at it 🤷🏽♀️🙈 It's usually people trying to book him for shows or parties.

I asked the guy, if it was just sex? He said he told me he wanted a relationship! He aint say, with me! Then his actions and words didnt say relationship, it said f buddy! No flirting, no attempts to ask me anything about myself, he didn't initiate or attempt time spent or give any affection!! My man is one of the busiest people I know. He makes time for me even if he has to make a business call with my as the 3rd party, I'm right there.
I have driving anxiety, but he will drive 2 hours just to put in time.
He knew right off the back he wanted me. It didn't take him long to know, but it did take him 1 year to let ME know 🤭
My man makes sure I'm good in every way possible (mentally, physically, emotionally, financially)

I love the insights about relationships. It's hard to have a successful relationship these days. It's all good at the beginning but never ends well.
The man I've been seeing has been very vocal about how he feels about me, the position he wants me to have in his life, and how he makes it a point to not leave me confused. I don't have to do much he knows exactly what to do. A true gent thus far. Honestly, consistency is hard to fake over the long run. I know I need someone who I am able to depend on. Anything else won't cut it, he could have all the money the baddest dick game but if he ain't being consistent I don't want him. The last was the very last time. We can't be tolerating anything less.

After watching this I am so glad and blessed that I didn’t settle with the guy I was supposedly dating. He was doing all of the signs you talk about him not being ready even though he would tell me he wanted a serious long term relationship. He would talk but wouldn’t do the action. After 2 months I was done and he told me he wasn’t going to beg or chase me. Little did he know that was the least thing I wanted from him. I wanted him to understand what he was saying and doing did not match. But he was not the man for me.

Thank you for the valuable enlightenment. What if he did all of these things, but still pressured me about intimacy before marriage? (He knew from the beginning I'm a faithful Christian and he said he is too). But, after becoming serious, he's was not ok with waiting. That made me feel that he no longer respected my faith, views and feelings. It's not that I wasn't tempted, as I was and he tried to use that against me.
This issue had become uncomfortable and I suggested that we don't have the same faith and goals. So I walked away, as he continued to try to pressure me to change my mind. So very hurtful and disrespectful.

You gotta be careful with some of these, because they are also things guys (people) use to pull you in and kind of trap you, especially if they are done very early in dating. For example, the introducing you to friends and family or making serious longterm plans. Sometimes if a guy does that, it's to pull you in and/or "trap" you, like, "Hey, I've already introduced you to friends and family, you can't just walk away if you don't like something. We've already gone public that we're serious."

He did all these things but also was having emotional affairs and lying and a secret alcoholic so it was super confusing. He was living a double life. He was doing all these things with me and also with other girls so it was super hard to spot. My gut felt something was off but I couldn't put it together. I was his "main" girl apparently.
