Knifemaking - Making a Tanto Part 6 (last) - Saya and Tsuka

Final part of making a tanto. I forget to record how I'm oiling, waxing and bufferning saya and tsuka. Also I added small seppa between tsuba and tsuka. Hope You like it.

Turned out very nicely! Also, way to hang in there, I saw in the comment section of your hardening vid that you went through 2, or was it 3 blades in the quench? Yikes! I enjoyed how traditional you kept the design and construction. Great job. :)

what wood and chisel did you use?

+starman 22 The wood I used is called sapeli (if I did not mispell it). I used just standard beveled chisel, 8 mm wide.

nożyk bardzo ładny tylko co to jest ten kawałek drewna przy pochwie ? Strzelam że jest to po to żeby nie wyślizgał się z za pasa :)

+Kido Jeśli chodzi o rodzaj drewna to padauk. A jako element to nazywa się kurikata - służy do tego, aby za pomocą troków można było przymocować nóż do pasa.
