Light stands are not inherently sexy, but Savage’s MultiFlex is one sexy stand. Form and function blend together into one of the most versatile stands I have worked with to date.
In the field, I found it to be lightweight and travel friendly, which is super important to moving fast and getting the shot.
That horizontal positioning of the leg gives me anxiety. You sure it won’t snap in half with a little wind pressure from a softbox?
WOW!!! That leg adjustment feature is awesome and really helpful. Will you replace your stands with it?
Can you use it with accesorios to make it c-stand?
Pretty cool design, rated for 8-9lbs is a bit on lighter duty side for some uses. Would be cool to see a heavy duty version.
Can you attach a boom arm ?
Only wish there was a middle one folded to 90-95 cm to fit more bags (Think Tank 96,5cm) or perhaps under 89cm. 68cm for this kind of stand is to short for me I think. I will have 48-52cm, 89-95cm, (115-120cm?) stands for smaller sets. So they made them a 6’ and a 10’, are those the most common heights on the market? It seems a bag for it is included though which is excellent for more protection/separation between multiple stands or for those who will use this as their favorite stand.
Logistics Manager 30 (70 cm ? - fits short ones?)
Production Manager 40 (96,5 cm inside).
Alternative Think Tank bags with even better wheels:
Video Tripod Manager 44 Rolling case (102cm inside), slimmer and sturdier but hardly no dividers.
Production Manager 50 (125cm inside), more expensive but a lot of dividers again.
Could look into Manfrotto or Tenba as well (gotta look into Tenba Roadie Roller: 18, (hybrid)21, 24 and their wheels or Tenba Attache 2214W).
And skibags...with wheels?
Just some feedback. From a marketing stand point I saw this video as an ad. I had to search for it as I didn't catch the name in the beginning and it wasn't repeated at the end nor was there a logo or branding at the end of the video. You're missing out on potential customers. Last 5 seconds could be the name of the product.
Any issues after 3-4 years?
Is it air cushioned for those heavier lights?
Nice job Sal! :-)
