Thanks for the video. Just a small correction. The FK2 was only available in the EU-UK market and a very small allocation, circa 750 cars went to Japan.
Thx for the the correction and sorry for that mistake. I also did another mistake for the FN2 😅 and someone corrected me, he said to me that the FN2 was also sold in Japan but in small quantities.
That vtec sounded nice on the first 2 lol.

What a pity that the Type R FN2 shouldn't take the 241bhp from the S2000 engine...
I'm a Japanese car tuner.
As you may know, the F20C is a longitudinal engine designed specifically for the S2000. There is no transmission governing system and even the direction of engine rotation is different, so it is impossible to make a transverse engine layout like FF in stock...
FN2typeREuro was sold in small numbers in Japan as well.

The FN2 in the video is not a stock condition. The rev. in stock is 8000 rpm. It's 8500 rpm. in this video. I own a FN2 now and it's really attractive when driving.
the FN2 is actually modified with Hondata but it's a low tune I just realized that now sorry for that.
But it does its 0-100 at the same time as stock so it's not a big problem I think 😅.
And the Honda Civic FN2 seems to be the most underrated Civic Type R due to its weight gain and only 1 hp more than the old generation Ep3.
But the fact that it performs as well as the Clio 3 RS (without forgetting Honda's reliability) shows that it is a very good car.
@@xfast2a584 Yes it's underrated. I love its sound and the driving feeling as what I want. I got so many smiles on my face while driving it. Really a good and funny car.
Man I'm not sure. Mine stock revs to 8400rpm, with hondata to 8600rpm (8900 with fd2 oil pump)

I have a fk2. Circa 430 hp. It will do 153mph in 5th on the limiter. Very quick and fast car.

Today, most sports cars are equipped with them 😔. old Hondas didn't need it, the original exhaust was good enough 🤌.
I have an fn2. While you could get a louder and nice sound with exhausts, the beauty of the larger lift cams is the induction noise imo.
Keep the stock intake, but remove the fins in the box (not the ones where the MAF is) and plonk a free-er flowing panel filter and you've got nice, but not overly loud induction. @@xfast2a584
I honestly hoped the last models of Civics to reach 8k rpm like the older models instead of 7k. Sure, they're not bad, but the older ones are better. When I saw they could reach 9k, I really think that's their real limit, but when I saw the newer models stopping at 8k, I felt like they go beyond but they were nerfed by factory.
the turbos have rpm limits (the maximum rpm they suck at)

Nope. I own a Honda CBR1000 rr-r aka fireblade, new 2024 version with the front winglets. Best superbike engine period I’ve ever ridden. I love Japanese engineering. What I hate are fanboys.
So you are actually talking about civic ricers which give a bad reputation to well tuned civics which not only make noise but also go fast and turn well.
