- I am always hankering for a new gluten-free chocolate recipe and this one hits all the marks. These gluten free vegan chocolate oatmeal bars are decadent and hearty at the same time. Chewy and just lightly sweet, they are a perfect afternoon snack or after dinner dessert. My favorite way to eat them is when they are still warm with a generous scoop of vanilla nice cream.

Omg! I made these THIS morning!! So simple and easy to make AND yet, they taste Amazing!!!
This one is definitely a keeper!
I've gone from 215 pounds to
133 pounds and still going!!
I especially love these chocolate oatmeal bars cuz they are gluten free, dairy free, oil Free, sugar free!
Amazing @rhondafox64, congratulations! Keep up the great work.
That looks awesome I can't wait to try it❤
I made the sesame ginger yesterday and it was just awesome I really enjoyed it. Thank you so much for your awesome videos
I've been plant-based for 5 years... it's been a lonely road. But my daughter is just starting to transition over and this morning, to surprise me,she came over with two healthy servings of this for breakfast! Man I felt so spoiled. They were fantastic.
I am so happy for you Linda 😊
My 5-year-old niece needed to bake something with an adult for extra credit for school. She chose this recipe and we spent a fun afternoon making the chocolate oatmeal bars together. We served them for dessert after supper and the whole family loved them, especially the fudgey center! This recipe is definitely going into my "favorite desserts" file! Thanks for another winning recipe!
Yep, I'm making these!
I went WFPB on March 8th and have lost 27 lbs so far. I have a long way to go but I feel amazing!
Great job 👏👏👏👏👍
Congrats! 👍🏻🌻😁
great job, tori!! it's so worth it :)
Keep it up...YOU are sooo worth it!
116lbs down since last September. I'm at my lowest weight since college 8 years ago. Keep at it, it works! I'm on WFPBNO and absolutely love this channel for getting delicious ideas to kill those cravings 😄
I added orange juice instead of oat milk, orange zest and a good handful of dried cranberries. Just love this recipe 😋
Yum 👍
I’m in the process of making a batch in a 9x9 pan, but the first time I did it in my silicon muffin pans. They turned out great and were easy to fill. I baked them 20 minutes. This recipe tastes decadent without the guilt.
I made these and they are scrumptious! Rich, no doubt but what a treat when one is craving a ‘goodie!’ Seriously, the food I’ve been cooking from plants surpasses anything I ate in the past. Fills you up and satisfies until the next meal without munchie attacks in between. Seeing major changes in short time from aches in my body. I freeze these and cut a small piece off for a treat; I don’t feel deprived in the least! Thank you!!
Late to the dance here. You have so many fantastic recipes, Jill!
Made these yesterday and I have two issues:
1. Why did I wait so long to make these?
2. How can I refrain from eating all of these at once?
My goodness, this goes to the top of the list of dessert recipes to make regularly.
Jill- you are a rock star!
😊👍
I love the little “happy dance” you do when tasting what you’ve made. 😄
I do the same thing! Love it.
Same here...glad I am not the only one who does it!!!l 💃
I made these, they came out great even though I accidentally only put 1/2 cup dates in the oat mixture. Defo a keeper.
My Aunt used to make this for me and sent it in care packages while I was in college. I LOVE this healthier conversion! SWEET MEMORIES!
Sweet 😊😊❤️
You shine with health and goodness Jill. Thanks for all you do in helping people to live more kindly.
Dangerously decadent yet extremely healthy. Count me in!!
Once my oatmeal bars went into the oven I added 3/4 water to my Nutribullet and turned the remaining chocolate-cashew mixture into a delicious treat to drink. I love these.
Great idea 💡💡
That is funny, when I was cleaning my blender I filled it up it with water, I immediately thought to myself oh darn I should have only added a little bit of water to make a delicious chocolate milk 🤦🏽♀️ Next time 😊
I am so grateful for your channel! Everything I´ve tried so far was absolutely delicious!! :) I live in the Czech republic and my non-vegan American boyfriend loved your mushroom gravy and apple pie I made for him for Thanksgiving :)
Neither me nor my grocery store had enough dates for the chocolate layer. Used cooked red beans instead for the body and some honey (I know, I know, I'm not 100% PB yet) for the sweetness. Turned out pretty good too! I will definitely work on this recipe more but I was very suprised how good those cocoed beans tasted :) Thank you for your recipe Jill!
Thanks for sharing. This is definitely a TREAT as dates are expensive in my area. I would spend nearly $9 on just the dates alone. 😮 Love that these are gluten free and packed with nutrition.
Wow nice you have a rubber scraper. I though I would send you one because you always leave stuff in your bowls. Also maybe if you soaked your dates in the plant based milk they might blend easier
I made these for the first time yesterday... they are half gone. It is a good thing I am sharing them with family or I would eat them all myself. So good!!
Yes I am making this as a new plant base eating person looks really good
I’ll have to give this a try. Seems pretty easy to make. They look so delish and I love how healthy they are!
I made these last night, and they are so goooood. Thanks, Jill.
this is by far the best oatmeal bar I've seen demonstrated, nicely done and looks absolutely tasty ready for my kids lunchbox. thank you for this
Oh wow.. you blend oats and get oat flour 😍
It seems pretty explanatory but it never crossed my mind 🤪
I finally made these and they are delicious!!! My super picky husband said they were good and sweet. My base and top layer was a lot darker, maybe it was the dates. Next time I’m going to double the recipe, might be easier on my Vitamix. Thank you for the recipe 😁
I can't wait to try this! I would love to have a Key Lime pie recipe.
I made the lemon cake which was delicious!
This was the BEST. My hubby loved them. Thank you so very much for what you do. You are actually saving my hubby’s life. He ate horrible but now that I have found your recipes, he is only eating healthy. Thanks again. ❤❤❤
That is Fantastic!
Oh shweppes. Tired from the scrambled tofu this morning, but now I watch you taste this and I'm like, 'Ok, it's only 3 pm... Can sneak this one in'. 😋😋😋 Thanks!!
Edit: Ok, made em. Screwed it up half way (don't ask) but started from scratch and they turned out okay. Quite nice. Rich. I could only have one at a time. It was strange using a huge baking pan and only use 1/2 of the space in the middle of it, but it seems to have worked out okay. My bottom layer was quite thin towards the edges so perhaps next time I should just use more mixture in a smaller space (and make less brownies) rather than try to copy the recipe and cover a wider surface area with the mixture. It also resulted in not quite being able to cover the top layer, although I tried to stretch it out and it mostly covered it.
Used almonds for the bottom and cashews for the choc. The dates didn't seem to blend easily in the Nutribullet, perhaps it is better to buy a food processor. Still have no bloody idea what I'm doing around the kitchen, but it was an experience. 🙃 Thank you!
I REALLY LOVE JILL'S MEALS
These look great. I’ll be getting more dates so I can try these out. I recently found your channel and I’m loving the recipes. I’ve been vegan for four years but am trying to do more Whole Foods to be healthier.
I made this!! It's not very sweet but surprisingly satisfying. I guess that's the difference between just grabbing some processed sweet treat, and making one out of wholesome real whole foods! Very happy with this recipe, as I've made many other "healthy" desserts before that miss the mark in terms of satisfaction, unlike this one.
Thank you, Jill! I’ve been cooking pretty much only recipes from you lately and been eating very well! Trying these tomorrow.
Wow! That’s great 😃
Just out of the oven! Can’t wait to try them! Oh my gosh, they are amazing!!
I would love to eat these for breakfast!!!
Hello there, I’ve been watching for a while now, but only ever made one of your recipes. However, I made these bars the other day and we LOVE them!
Please take this as a compliment, when I say that they don’t taste at all ‘worthy’. I’m always looking out for delish oil free puddings and sweet treats to make and these will definitely be made again.
Thank you so much for your hard work. Your videos are so helpful and natural... I love them.
Very best from Hilly in Norfolk, UK x
Loving the new cookbook. Just got it last week.. Even my teenage daughter is making the recipes. Can't wait to try this recipe also.
You're the best! I got your book ❤
Lol. The dancing fingers are everything. 😄 That alone makes me want to for sure try this.
Going to try these and add a little fat free peanut butter powder. Ohhh can't wait! Thanks for sharing.
Been seeing this recipe pop up quite a bit lately, so watched the video. Not a huge sweets person but needed that chocolate fix so made them today. The filling tasted wonderful ( of coarse I had to taste... Quality control and all that. 😁) In the oven currently as I write this so really looking forward to trying them. 🙂😋
I love your enthusiasm for this recipe!
Thanks for a recipe without cashews!!!!
I just made these & omg so yummy! You’re my hero Jill, thank you!
My only problem was in blending the filling. My blender wouldn’t quite do the job. Wish I had your blender, lol. Next time I think I’ll use the food processor instead.
The best chocolate oat bar that I have ever had. So yummy and thank you again Jill.
Can't wait to try these!!!
I made these tonight. I was out of dates, so I used dried figs and raisins instead. I also added some peanut butter. Yummy! Thanks for the recipe.
This is very similar to something I call date & apple oatie thing, now I'm going to have to make it with your chocolate centre as it looks absolutely delicious.
These turned out great...will make again. Love this channel.
This was very good. My family enjoyed this recipe.

Are the nuts for anything other than flavor? We follow a nut-free diet (Esselstyn heart recommendations for my husband) and I was wondering about omitting the nuts. Thanks so much for all the great oil-free recipes!
Yes, they are just for flavor so they can be omitted.
@@wholefoodplantbasedcookingshow Thank you! Hope you and yours have a blessed Easter!
I made them without nuts yesterday and they’re still incredible
Looks delicious!!
I am gonna make these! YUM! 😋
I will sub chia meal vs flax meal
