    I found that having two different sized corsets are helpful. I have one I wear, my smaller sized corset, regularly when my body isn't experiencing anything. I wear my larger sized corset, it's only one size bigger, when I'm suffering from bloating due to it being my time of the month so I can still get my hours in but still be comfortable at the same time.

    my first corset was a cheap one of ebay and i actually nearly passed out from the pain it caused on my ribs because as i was trying to tighten my waist is was also tightening on my ribs and hips way too much, for 2 years i thought that was just how corsets would feel like, that they were painful and you'd just have to put up with that if you wanted to were them, i thought that until i started watching you videos! you are so informative and i have learnt so much about corsets from you that i can't wait to get a proper one and wear one again. Thank you so much!

    I love how specific you are! you're analogies help me to better understand what the corset does to my body and how I need to take care of myself and my body and how to expect results. I love how you normally give three types of examples, so saying that someone wants a 20% waist reduction makes no sense to me but when you give measurements and say that a 28 inch waist reduced by 20% is about 22 inches. I also love how you are very comfortable and relaxed and use your hands when you talk, and how you aren't afraid to talk about the weird stuff like practicing going to the bathroom in your corset xD. One last thing I absolutely love is the diagrams you use and the scientific explanation behind it, like having malleable ribs at a younger age cuz of cartilage, that you feel bloated at night in a corset because the blood flows to your stomach. Just thank you so much, you make researching very easy for me, especially when I can click on links to where you've researched. Your just so amazing!!! thanks again :)

    Hi Lucy! So I just got my first ever corset from "Corset-Story" about a week and a half ago. I absolutely LOOOOOVE my corset! I can't believe how much it's done for my waist in just a week in a half! I have already lost an inch off of my waist! I don't wear it too tight. I wear it just tight enough to suck me in and support my back. I think the cycle method will work best for me. I also exercise daily with lots of cardio. Thank you for this video. I really appreciate all of the knowledge of learned! I am also now FASCINATED with the "Golden Rule" :) Have a great day Lucy!

    I follow the hours that my PT gave me. She also stated that OTR corsets are of a (for the most part) higher quality than OTR backbraces. She also stated that a custom corset will likely always be cheaper in price than a custom made backbrace.
    As for the hours in "seasoning" an OTR corset she said to start with about an 1 hour and work my way up until 8 hrs at a light hug and then once to that point tighten it to a tighter hug at the same hourly time frames then tighten to a comfortable bear hug with the same hour time frames. She also said that it is likely easier to get my hours in at night as well.

    I am getting ready to order my first under bust corset. I ordered a "cheap" over bust corset from china due tomorrow, but after all the research I have done, all your videos i have watched, I am confident it will be a bustier and not a corset at all but if it slims me at all it will fullfill its purpose. I am considering the Orchard Corset 426 as my first "real" corset. After watching this video i feel that the cycle method will be the way i will start as it seems simpler. I am in college full time again in august so i have all summer to get this journey started before full days of classes and sitting. I am a BBW and have a 45" waist, I am starting with either a 36-38" corset per orchard corsets help. Looking forward to reshaping my body with this and future weight loss. Thanks

    It seems to me that starting off with a structured less flexible regime is actually good in the beginning as one does not actually know how one's body responds normally to waist training. It is akin to starting a new unfamiliar exercise regime or a new diet. It seems to take 21 days, or probably more, for a daily routine to become a habit, or 'normal'. In that sense, one might have a problem training intuitively from the beginning. Anyway, as always, this video is very informative.

    I would love to tell you what has been working out for me , but I'm barely half way thru seasoning my corset! I wanted to lose some weight to fit it , so now that I've shed some inches off of my waist , I finally started seasoning it . Yay ! I can say that I've noticed my postpartum tummy getting a lot smaller , but I have been doing a lot of diastasis recti workouts and I believe the corset is helping pull my muscles back together . So thank you for being so helpful !

    Hi Lucy. It is a pleasure to have found you! I am a 50yr. old how has gained 20lbs over the past year being busy getting my daughter into college. Now it's time to focus on me, yay!! My question is, along with my working out do you think it's possible for someone my age to see results from waist training?

    • @LucysCorsetry
      @LucysCorsetry  9 років тому +1

      Hello - sorry I missed your comment earlier. I believe Cathie Jung (current holder of the Guinness world record for the smallest waist on a living person), she began waist training in her mid-40s and she's seen extremely dramatic results which she's maintained today, even at 78 years old! I would still check with your doctor that you're in good health: strong bones, good blood pressure, no sign of prolapse in the bladder or uterus - but if your doctor says you're in good shape to start training, then go for it! Just know that your results may take longer than some others - but each person is different. :) I have a video on age and corseting here:

    I had to pause and laugh at the sped up rant. x)
    Interestingly, when I was at Anime Expo, wearing a corset from Timeless Trends, it was really put off by how restricted I felt in the corset. Because they tightened a 20 inch corset as much as they could, I asked them to loosen it and it really kicked the breath out of me. X)
    But I am glad I gave corsets a second chance anyway! :D

      I can _somehow_ get into these vendors' mindset and kind of understand that they want to show you what your potential is in a corset, but urgh, it really gets my goat that they can't be a little more gentle and stop to ask the wearer how they're feeling! >:(
      I'm glad that you were able to give corsetry another chance and come to enjoy it too. :)

    • @LucysCorsetry

      I do mention that around timepoint 1:35 :)
      "Start by wearing your corset a couple of hours each day, for a few days or until your corset is seasoned." (If you had already seasoned your corset, then you don't have to season it again.)
      Romantasy's training method somewhat seamlessly incorporates seasoning into the beginning of the regimen. :)

    Hi Lucy,
    I just decided to start waist training! Glad I found your channel. After watching a few I probably made a mistake to buy a latex plastic boned full underbust shaper. If I wear this every day for ages, will it not show any result at all?
    If I decide to get a proper waist training corset is there a specific style I should look for or does any underbust corset do? Are some more dangerous for your organs or are some more suitable for long time wear?

    • @LucysCorsetry
      @LucysCorsetry  10 років тому

      Hi Shelly, I have a video on latex shapewear here: STOP CONFUSING WAIST CINCHERS!
      The corset that will be safest for you will be custom fit to your measurements so you don't have any hot spots/ pressure points. If you want to train your ribcage, you will need a conical corset. If you prefer to keep your ribcage free, go for a dramatic modern hourglass with just the waist nipped in. I have examples of these (and also discuss makers that sell these) in my galleries on my site: lucycorsetry.com/research-corset-brands/guided-galleries/

    Hi Lucy, I am new to corsetry. I have however been waist training and really love it. I have shrank my waist from a 31.5 to 28inchs. I am interested in purchasing a corset from your site. I think the costumization of the shape and corset is where I will recieve my best results. I have wide hips, but squishy waist. I'm wondering what corset you would describe as being closet in comparison to the CS 426? It was recommended to me on the orchard corset site. I want to purchase mine in Canada.

    • @LucysCorsetry
      @LucysCorsetry  3 роки тому

      Hi Rachelle, the hourglass longline is probably most similar to the CS-426 longline. I don’t carry a corset that’s like their standard CS-426. However I tend to recommend different sizes compared to OC staff so I would be happy to look at your measurements and recommend which style and size would fit your body best: lucycorsetry.com/measurements/

      @LucysCorsetry  9 років тому

      Leonela Barajas The people who are saying to work out with your trainer on are probably not using genuine corsets, but rather are using the rubber cinchers. I have a video explaining the differences between these two:
      ua-cam.com/video/x7uyEVry45I/v-deo.html
      I don't recommend working out in a genuine steel boned corset, and I explain why here:
      ua-cam.com/video/GsjugCEyta0/v-deo.html
      What I recommend instead is to work out without your corset, do your core exercises last, take a shower and then put your corset on within an hour of finishing your workout. That may encourage your body to take on the shape of the corset more. I discuss this in the "corsets and muscles" video:

      I hope this helps!

I don't have a ton of body fat. In the process of losing about 10lbs (my goal). I want to get that "hour glass look" when I look straight on in the mirror my sides just below my rib cage will be more defined. I'm 28 5' 4" and 130lbs. My rib cage circumference is 34 (that's my bra size anyway). Again not looking for a drastic change just want my waist to be more defined. =) Can you help me? You can see from the video below that I had a very "up and down" ruler shape, regardless of weight:
      ua-cam.com/video/C-9enx1ejvE/v-deo.html
      When I was corset training around 12 hours a day, I began to develop a bit of a "divot" on either side of my waist. My waist still looked relatively normal, but just started to show a little more definition at the obliques.

  • @misfitwriter16
    @misfitwriter16 10 років тому

    i often see question about what corset is best for short vs long corsets but could you answer what the measurement range is for a short torso vs long. Example being a short torso is A-C amount inches and a average torso is D-F inches and a long torso is X-Z inches.

    • @LucysCorsetry
      @LucysCorsetry  10 років тому

      In my opinion, a short torso would be about 7-8 inches, an average torso 9-10 inches, and a longer torso perhaps 11 inches or more. The corsets that may correspond with this would be a cincher which is around 6-8 inches on the side seam, and a full underbust corset may be 9+ inches on the side seam. A longline corset is often 10-11 inches or even more, but there are of course exceptions to the rule. For instance, Isabella Corsetry sells a "Petite Josephine" corset which fits like a longline corset, but it's only 9" long so it's suitable for those with a short-average torso length. Restyle is another company that sells "shorter" longline corsets. There is no real industry standard when it comes to what is considered a waspie, regular underbust, longline, etc.

    After having 2 children my ab miscles have a gap in the middle and I want to close that. Would corset training close it over time?

    • @LucysCorsetry
      @LucysCorsetry  5 років тому

      Hi Vivian, yes some people have reported that waist training (along with exercise) can help with diastasis recti, and stitch those muscles back together. But the sooner after childbirth you start, the better your results will be. If it’s been a year or more since you’ve been diagnosed with RI, then results might not be the best because your muscles might have “healed” separate. Exercise can still help to tone and build those muscles and make the gap smaller, but after a certain point (depending on how wide the gap is and how many years you’ve had it) the only option is surgery.

    i just started training today and i have 3 corsets i'm trying to season all at the same time (one overbust, two underbust). i have found that the overbust makes my lumbar region to strain in about an hour, is that normal?

    • @LucysCorsetry
      @LucysCorsetry  8 років тому

      The steels in the overbust might be too straight for your back. I have another video that shows how to gently curve the back of your corset so it's more comfortable over your lumbar region:

    Is it possible to train your waist without altering your ribs?

    • @LucysCorsetry
      @LucysCorsetry  10 років тому +1

      Technically yes, even if you don't train your ribcage, it's possible to train your oblique muscles to maintain a more hourglass shape. I talk about it in more detail here: Corsets & your Muscles
      BUT it's important to note that this is only semi-permanent shaping; if you train your waist and then stop wearing your corset at all for 6 months, it can revert back to its original shape. Just as you maintain your figure with good nutrition and exercise, so you must maintain waist training results by continuing to wear the corset.

    I'm looking for a corset or cincher or body shaper that I can wear under my clothes without it being shown that will train my waist slightly without moving my ribs around. I know that this is more short term. Do you recommend anything??

    • @LucysCorsetry
      @LucysCorsetry  10 років тому

      If you don't want to train your ribs, go for corsets that are more cupped in the ribcage instead of conical - for instance, Puimond's corsets are a little more rounded. Waisted Creations has a similar silhouette as well. :)

    • @LucysCorsetry
      @LucysCorsetry  10 років тому +2

      That would be different for everybody. One girl I know said that it took 6 full months for her waist to return to its pre-corset size after she stopped wearing her corset. Other people may take a shorter time (especially if you become pregnant and the baby pushes out your ribcage), and perhaps those who trained their ribcage very small would take longer - but again, it depends on one's lifestyle habits, their individual body's response, etc.

    Is it ok to be wearing a corset for 23 hours a day but taking the corset off for special occasions, like i went to Launch, a trampoline place, for a few hours, and i took it off so that i cud jump and contort myself. Does this impede waist training?

    • @LucysCorsetry
      @LucysCorsetry  10 років тому

      I don't see why it would impede your training - it's definitely important to take some time off and exercise, especially using your core muscles so they don't become dependent on the corset. I was able to waist train and reduce 8 inches without even sleeping in my corset (of course, everyone responds differently).

    Would you be able to recommend any conical shaped corsets for a short torso for waist training? Preferably from the UK. I'm having some trouble finding one - as this will be my first corset, I don't want to invest in a custom one just yet

    • @LucysCorsetry
      @LucysCorsetry  10 років тому

      That's a bit more difficult to find, unless you have a larger budget. Isabella Petite Josephine or Victorian underbust are both conical in the ribcage and made for short/average torso lengths, and not too expensive, but they're made in the US. WKD's Baby corset is conical and made for very short torso lengths and made in the UK, but not guaranteed for waist training. Morgana Femme Couture is made in the UK, and can be made with a conical ribcage, but they're generally for longer torso lengths, unless you want to spend more to go custom. You can see some other options here if you like though:

    Does anyone else feel a burning sensation on the sides of your stomach and in your rib cage? Its the same exact feeling you get when you workout. I notice this feeling within 20 -45 minutes, have been waist training for about 2-3 months and used to be able to wear it for 4 hours without the burning sensation.
    And also, do you, or anyone else know where i can find a corset that has an 18 inc waist? I've tried looking for one everywhere n haven't had any luck ;/ My natural waist measurement is 22-23 inches, and i currently wear a 20 inch waist corset for now until then.

    • @LucysCorsetry
      @LucysCorsetry  10 років тому +2

      I have felt a warm/tingling sensation on my sides before, which I've equated to a "stretch" type feeling. If you imagine that your oblique muscles are in a straight line, and then you make them curve in a concave manner by use of a corset: since a curve is longer than a straight line, then it's actually causing your muscles to stretch! But be sure that the corset is not causing irritation, or lasting pain even when you take off the corset. If you experience any sensation, it should be mild and never get to the point of distressing pain.
      I talk about it in more detail here: Corsets & your Muscles

    I don't understand the cycle method. Not that it is complicated, It just don't make sense to me. I can almost close my corset know and when I want to loose it a bit it makes the corset uncomfortable because my posture changes. I wear corsets because of back problems and psychological reasons and so I find it the best to wear them as long as I want to wear them. Most days I wear my corset all day and I take it off for sleeping. I always lace it as tight as I can because a loose corset is more uncomfortable to me than a tight one.
