Why, WHY did I not know bra band sweat pads were a thing?? Genius, truly. Also this is super helpful. Looking forward to even more tips in the comments!
I wear tank tops under my overbust, but I also wear garments over my corset. Usually I Use a cotton and Lycra mix so I get the compression aspect, but sometimes I use silk, they are easy to switch out. I’ve even cut the spaghetti straps off some of my tanks so they are less visible under clothing.
I so needed your comment. I’m looking to switch from bras to overbust corsets and was hoping I could find a way to turn my old spaghetti strap shirts to liners. You posting this just helped me out so much. Thank you!
@@jenniferlugo1326 if they have shelf bras, you can turn the whole thing inside out, and then put on your corset so that it is inbetween the two layers. That way when you put on the over shirt all that might poke out in the cleavage is the tank top.
I wear my overbust as a bra replacement and I really like wearing a cami with a shelf bra inside out, so that the 'shelf' is on the outside. And then I wear my corset and pull the shelf over the corset. Once I put on whatever over shirt I'm wearing on top, it just looks like I'm wearing a cami. It also protects the top edge of the corset from any underarm sweat.
I’ve worn a strapless tank top underneath my corset. I always look for something made from natural fabrics such as cotton, bamboo, linen, silk, etc. as they are more breathable and will wick away any underbust moisture.
Very helpful. Thank you. I pad the boned parts of my corset with reusable cotton pads. I don’t wear make up anymore so it’s a great way to repurpose them and also makes me more comfortable.
I like to use slip dresses myself. I find chemises can be too bulky under some modern dresses so they've made a good substitute! They're loose fitting enough not to disturb the bust profile and easy to lace over since they're made of slippery silk or nylon, and comfortable in the summer.
Please post more frequently. I specifically loved your weight loss and convertible shoes series 👍🏻 What brand of shoes lasted for a long time? Which one would you recommend
I don't have any overbusts (if we don't count a terrible fashion tube-y one), but for my underbusts I usually wear a simple cotton tank top underneath. The tips for overbusts are great, as I've always wanted to get a nice one,so extra tips will be perfect for future reference.:)
So informative!! Thank you, ive always wondered what to do about this haha. Can you do more reviews of corsets from corset story? I would love to hear how they compare!
Funny you mention the pads - I'm recovering from my reduction and recently bought some "nursing pads" for protection, since it's more practical than buying and wadding up gauze. It's a weird gender dichotomy you run into for buying coverage for that--men get "nip guards" for running; women get nursing products only.
since I only ever wear my corsets underneath my clothing (basically stealthing), I've stuck to wearing tank tops underneath, but the tip about wearing nursing pads is so useful! Especially since it's getting hotter and hotter these days and I've been thinking about getting corset liners since they're probably meant to be thinner and breathable, but I also sweat a ton in the chest area and I don't want to ruin my overbust. I just hope my mom doesn't find the pads looool
Thanks for this video, it's so hard to find enough info on overbust corsets. Do you recommend wearing a layer to season an overbust corset too? I've searched everywhere for the answer to this and this is the closest to an answer I've found. Even in a singlet, the breast shape changes and I want the corset to adapt to my own bust. Thanks so much for all the videos, too. I've learned sooooo much and still lots to learn :)
Hey Lucy! Amazing video as always. I wanted to ask, do you have any idea what happened to c&s constructions, or if they're still in the game? Their website has completely disappeared 😕 sorry to ask on an unrelated video!
I was wondering if you thought that a body suit might work? they can come unpadded essentially and often unsnap for bathroom needs aha. I am not experienced with wearing my corset more full time as i accidently gained too much weight to wear the one i purchased at the beginning of the pandemic. Just looking to explore all my options to make the best choice for me :) thank you for your always informative videos!
I have a video called Corsets and the Reproductive System, but as a summary: The corset completely comes off during pregnancy. If you need lumbar support during pregnancy there are belly bands, but there should be absolutely no waist compression, no exceptions around this. Once your OB clears you for normal activities post-partum (which might be anywhere from 6-10 weeks, to up to a year, depending on your individual labor and recovery experience) you can resume corseting again if you wish, even if still breastfeeding. An underbust is easier for access. You’ll definitely need a pillow to prop up baby as you can’t curl over in a corset, and as a note, babies obviously prefer a soft tummy to cuddle while feeding - so weigh the pros and cons for yourself on whether to corset while nursing, it’s a very individual decision everyone needs to make for themselves.
Have you made any videos one the age limits for corsets and stuff like that? I’m not asking for permission as I already know that’s not something a stranger on the internet can give however I’d like to know your opinion on the matter and any tips if someone were to use a corset a little under the age limit.
Hi Shannara, yes I have a video on age limits here. I don’t recommend anyone under the age of 18 wear a waist-reducing corset as the bones and organ systems are not fully developed. Some corset brands refuse to sell to anyone under the age of 21: ua-cam.com/video/7DpWefRa77U/v-deo.html
Definitely not binders! They don't give the flattened appearance that binders or minimizers do because they will usually have a contoured cup type fit over the bust area. For a smaller bust, corsets can give an extreme push up look that is well anchored, so a person doesn't have to worry about fiddling with a bra cup that doesn't really have enough room for them, causing the bra wire to migrate too far above or below the IMF (the fold where the breasts attach to the ribcage). For a larger chested person, it really helps to comfortably anchor and distribute the weight of the breasts across the whole torso instead of on a tight band (to provide proper support the band should be quite tight/flush with the ribcage measurement) and/or the straps (which often take the brunt of support when the band is too loose). I hope this helps explain the allure a bit more!
I didn’t know that I needed this, but I actually did. I’m on team ‘switching bra for overbust’, and all the information will come in handy.
Same. 40HH requires nothing less.

That’s such a great idea Lisa!! 🤯
absolutely genius! I'm too busty for those shelf bra camis to ever fit, so I'd never considered this
Omg I can listen to this voice for hours.
Your videos should be called ASMR ☺️
As usual, Lucy's out here doing for our BBW ladies! I'm so glad for this video and am omw to buy some underboobage mops rn!

I just wear a short sleeve tee. I don't wear an overbust as exterior clothing though.
Such an informative video! I really like the look of skater dress under a corset. Loving your outfit too, specially your earrings!
I've been wearing a corset liner for my torso and a sweetheart cut bandeau over my bust. I've used both lined and unlined bandeaus. Works well for me.
The nursing pad idea is fantastic!
I had been wondering about this. Thanks for sharing!
Since I just ordered an overbust with the intention of seeing if I can use it instead of a bra's, this was particularly timely! Thanks, Lucy!!
Thank you!💖

Completely new to corset wear and doing my research. One thing I have a question on is, what to do during pregnancy and breastfeeding?

Would a corded corset work better in this case?
Hi Lucy. Do you still use your Lifespan Under desk treadmill? And has it broken down at any point?
Yes I still use it! It’s never needed any repairs. :)

I’ve been known to use a rolled up thin washcloth tucked under my boobs with my overbusts, it absorbs moisture and ads just a little lift.
i´m looking for a bulletproof corset for me.
pvc or satin fabric.
I just use a thin tank top or spaghetti strap under shirt.
Solution- wear a spaghetti strap tank top.
I don't get overbust corsets! They are basically binders at that height
For me, they're more like an extreme push-up bra.
Definitely not binders! They don't give the flattened appearance that binders or minimizers do because they will usually have a contoured cup type fit over the bust area. Historical stays may do this but a properly fitted modern corset shouldn't compress your breasts.
