- Hello and welcome to a new episode,
This week's episode is a special one, 2 planes 1 boat and over 300 miles on road, This has to be my biggest explore to date, We travel from Manchester to Norway then on to Sweden to go and visit the very famous 1000 car forest this has been on my to do list for the best part of 2 years, Finally i plucked up the courage to get on my first plane flight, let me tell you it has severely given me the bug to fly more, So be sure to look out for new trips in the pipe work,

The white car, is not a Cortina. It is a Opel Rekord C 1967-1972. There are a lot os Opels in that yard.

Me and a friend are going up to see this yard in June straight after visiting bugrun 40 at mantorp park .I've been many times before first going in 1997 .then it was not so overgrown.
I'd love a VW camper exspesh with the housing trouble today cos id 100% deffo live in it & become a traveller & see the whole of the UK.

great video! At 14.58 minutes, that's an Opel Rekord C (also Commodore A!), a friend of mine owned it as a rare Commodore model, as a convertible (one of only seven factory Opel Baur convertibles built). At 15.31 Minutes, yes it`s an Auto Union (DKW Junior / 3 cylinder 2-stroke), from 1968 Audi. Until 1967 Mercedes Benz owned Audi and Auto Union! In 1968 Mercedes sold this and Audi was back! At 16.39 Minutes, ist a Peugeot 404!

Before AUDI ,they where known as Auto Union, several Morris Minor split screens and Ford Populars were seen the White Cortina was actually an Opel Diplomat!

Swedish Beetles tend to last pretty well. Quite a few have been imported to the UK (I’ve had a couple'), they don’t salt the roads so the cars don’t rot like they do here in the UK.
And European Beetles had sempahores up until 59 (early big window - first big windows were August 57 on for the 58 Model year) they lit up but they didn’t flash.
Also a Splittie is a VW bus, early Beetles are Split-Ovals 😉

The old Ford car maybe was actually a Vauxhall Cresta PC, they were a bit Cortinaish, I maybe wrong though. Built 65' to 72' 4 door saloon and 5 door estate. The engines available were 2651cc and 3294cc with 3 or 4 speed manual, but also available in a 2 or 3 speed Auto.

The car on your last shot appears to be a Peugeot 404 which was styled by Pininfarina very similar to the BMC Farinas
This yard is at Basnas 25 km from Tockfores on the Swedish / Norway border

Great video = I remember seeing pictures of this scrapyard' in volksworld magazine in the early 90's. I think there was one split bug with its rear window gone but from memory it was in a pile of cars. The car you looked might have been a split although the dashboard is the later type which was used for a number of years on the oval. However the last splits (1952) did have this dashboard so it could be what is called a 'zwitter' - split bug with oval dash which is quite rare! Semaphores were on bugs up to 1960/61.

The one you said was a Ford Corsair I’m thinking it’s a Vauxhall Viscount. Auto Union was pre Audi

Good afternoon STOKZE, that car manufacturer that you are looking for( before Audi became Audi) is AUTO UNION and they before WW 2 were the very First manufacturer to build and race a rear engine F1 car and then the war happened and afterwards thee company starting making cars again and became AUDI with the 4 interlocking rings as a car badge and now they are on another level altogether with there by-brid cars.

I never seen so many Beatles sat rotting I don't mind them just the engines are slow and sound horrible my friend had a modified engine and still didn't like it but with a different engine in not vw I would own one that place is crazy

Man what a yard 😮 it's a shame people didn't know how to take care of them in the first place, it's like people used to slag ford's off but back when the early stuff was out they would fix them on there eiwn with no knowledge of what's going on but all they needed was a mechanic zeebart and copper slip on the earth leads job done.. so all those beetles simple cars died because of people's lack of knowledge and just not giving a shit about the machines they had sad people no respect for the engineering sad 😞 looks like an opal record to me.. the tractor came from swansea and he was a swansea city fan and he could drive a tractoor
