Something similar may have happened in Pete's World. One hypothesis is the reason Britain is a republic in that universe is that perhaps the werewolf's plot at Torchwood House was successful in that universe, with no Doctor to stop it.

It’s awkward at my grans house on Xmas, because we’re Scottish and most of my family are nationalist/republicans so at the queens speech I stand up but try and look casual as if I’m standing because my back aches or something.

I just can't get over how fantastic David Tennant's hair is. I miss Bernard Cribbins, he was like a big cuddly uncle that always had sweeties for you.
