- A fun day hanging out with the two brothers crab snaring at the Jetty. All in all, it was not a bad day since we got there pretty late and because of the low tide. Still got'em with the snares.
Most footage record by using an Akaso V50 @ 1080p60fps
Instrumental by: Ihaksi- the illest
Crab snare is the slingshot ride for crabs
Thank you for sharing. People should appreciate that it takes a special kind of person to want to teach other how to catch fish/crab.
michael chen thanks!
michael chen honestly not that hard dumbass 😂
Anyone else yelling "PULL IT, PULL IT, PULL IT!!!!" 🤣🤣 Great video.
Underrated video. Super useful info. Thanks man!
Thanks man keep them videos going👍

Wheres this at
That's awesome for the tips you should make beginner video of what you look for good crabbing areas on the beach thanks again
awsome video
thanx 4 this
One more month before the season opens again and I'm getting excited. Making new snares with minor design changes.
Outdoor freedom nice and good luck on the upcoming harvest..I might go out there too!
Hella big ass reds!!!!! Love em!
Nice clip
Came upon your vids the other day Have a question if I may? Do you think your snare would work blue crab on the east coast? can you tell me ware to get snare or do you make them? Thanks
yea this will definitely work for blue crabs. you can buy various sizes of bait holder and snare loop for your size crab on ebay or amazon. some snare are created with smaller loop and some bigger so depends on your preference..
Scorpiontube has a couple videos here that teaches you how to make the snares. I used his vids to make the snares then found other products I liked better, just the line and sleeves that attach the lines. For a few dollars you can make more snares then you will ever use!! It's the off season now so I just make snares when I have nothing better to do. I now make a couple types but the ones Scorp shows you are the most popular.
Would a 9' Daiwa surf rod work for this kind of fishing ? I have a 5000 reel on it
yeah, that would be fine bro
yea thats plenty of power..should work especially on jetty..
How do you know where is a good place for crab snaring along the beach and what to look for
honestly, you never know until you try..jetties will always have some crabs..beaches are hit n miss..depending on when they are moving about!!but all around doran jetty and the beach we had caught dungies!!
@@yangslife-publicoutdoorpas6640 I really appreciate your feedback, I've commented on others posts but never got info in return. Thank you. I barely started crabbing.
@@omarrodriguez3089 Your welcome...this year since I moved away from Rohnert Park I only been there once at Doran..4 man crabbing and we got 24 dungies and a few red crabs that we decided to keep. keep in mind always check tides and swell where your crabbing it makes a difference too!!
are you fishing inside the jetty or outside? n is this south or north jetty half moon bay?
shaneleew north jetty always the inside between the two jetty’s
I clicked on this video because I wanted to see how the snare lines moved underwater with a current? What I really learned is how fast the crabs get to the bait and rob you!!!! No wonder I get robbed so often!!! That normal 10 minutes may be way too long!!!
Question: how well is the bait bag working for you?? End of the season we started using the material over the top of the bait before we closed the top. It helps but the bag looked like a good idea. Very good video!!
Eugene Mitchell the bag works great and keeps the bait longer..anything that can wrap around the bait and be put in the snare is worth it
What weight rod do you recommend for crab fishing/snaring?
any 10-12 ft rod will do the job..we use shakespeare big water pole and various brand name but ocean fishing pole you can't go cheap..need one that can pull and bend on the weights of the snare and crabs
wow, I don't know why, but I love that underwater snare footage! so cool. but you can't tell how big they are underwater, they always look way bigger than they actually are haha. I thought Die Hard Fishing had some good underwater snare footage, but this one is a little better I think ;) you gotta end off the video showing off your catch!! I wanted to see!! What did you get?
chimyshark thanks for the tip this day it was pretty good we were 6-7 shy of limiting out for the 3 of us!
Nice footage..what crab snare is that and where do you get them from??
some of these are bought on ebay and better ones comes from outdoor pro shop in cotati, ca
Where is this?
So, any thoughts on the bait bags??? You were still bringing up empty snares??? This was perhaps one of the top underwater videos I have seen.
Sorry, I just found your reply to my question.
So, by watching your footage I see the differences and the advantages of using a crab hawk or crab max over a snare. One of the main advantages is the bait on the center pin. When the crab pull, they pull the bait, the pin, and the line. You actually see the bites. It's harder on a small loop snare.
crab hawk works great in other state. I believe crab hawk is illegal here in California!
@@yangslife-publicoutdoorpas6640 I dunno. I checked the regs. It's extremely vague on the issue.
It looks to me that you placing the guage over the point rather than in front of the point. The points don’t count.
GH1618 thanks but pretty sure I know the regulations before I got out been doing it for years

@@yangslife-publicoutdoorpas6640 awesome thanks!
Too bad you can’t watch the footage on the camera on your phone while it’s going down
Why did you hit the crab?
not hitting the crab but trying to chip of the barnacles on the crabs.
@@yangslife-publicoutdoorpas6640 didn't look that way to me.
@@yangslife-publicoutdoorpas6640 Doesn't make any sense to bang on the shell for tiny barnacles. Sure it made crab mad .
Were you using chicken?
yes chickens and squid
what bait ?
we use squid and chicken
Yes I pull every five minutes to start out
Great video, please get rid of that music.
