The bots are breaking because of the lift arm speed with heavy bales. I wouldn’t put a stronger bolt in because if it doesn’t shear there it will shear where the gears are in the center of turn table not a nice Jo’s to replace. How is the tow and fert working out. Great videos

Change the number of teeth on one or both of the cogs to get a slightly lower gear. Yes, the heavy bales are the problem. You could use a High Tensile bolt, but then something else might give.

Try putting a 10.9 bolt on the wrapper might help

Jealous, I do vegetable cropping in South Africa but would love to run equipment like you have and switch to cattle, our one and only heifer, Cola, could do with the company.
    Loving your content.

That’s a sheer bolt it’s on all Mchale wrappers it’s a safety feature so you don’t damage the main gears in the bed usually happens with heave bales or I’d you hit bumps in the field when wrapping you can take the middle plate out of the bed and see is the other sheer bolt in there loose or worn just make sure you put in a sheer bolt or else you can do serious damage to you’re wrapper bolt also has to be very tight if there’s any play it will break easily

Some crop! Would you not cart bales up to the yard unwrapped and wrap them at the yard?

It breaks the shear bolts I think when you put a bale on and it lands on the black things either side of the bed where the bale sits, if it doesn’t sit inside the bed when it’s spinning like

Ive not had this problem, never broke 1, we have done over 2000 bales since ours was new last year. but noticed yours loads a lot faster with the arm and our bales have been heavy bales, 1000kg in a feed cart, same wrapper but with the end tipper on it

I think someone else has mentioned it above, but can you slow down the speed at which the bale is loaded? As it appears to put a lot of strain onto the back roller when it’s loaded.

Hi. Manual says not to put tougher bolt there. Bales should sping freely on table. What does not let them spin is their shape irregularities and softness. Try to tight netwrap and may be add one more layer when baling. In the end of baling try make more flat surface by driving more slowly and add speed to baler. I think simple thing as tighting netwrap will do. Also people tell to slow down lift arm. This has buttons to lift and lower just like 991 BE[R] ? Manual said table max is 30 rpm. Does yours do more? If it does you need to lower oil flow rate. On my machine there is different oil plug on oil control valve for closed center, open center and variable flow oil systems. For some need to change oil plug and adjust overpressure valve

We had a wrapper like that and it would break every so often on the heavier bales like you say. Only thing we did differently was a stronger bolt.

I only ever break the shear bolt on heavy silage bales. Never broken one on haylage bales. Decent tedder worth having is 10k, if you're only ma king bales for cattle I wouldn't bother with one

Sell all your extra bales and it might help you to buy a couple more cows. Use your excess to your advantage.
