Your right, they don't build stuff to last anymore...
It’s pitiful.... and not much accountability for it either!
@@McGieHomesteadAdventures no there sure ain't...buy american as much as possible & still the materials are lower grade than the old stuff...
I imagine in a few weeks it will be sprouting up and looking beautiful. I hope you get a good rain for it. Take Care
Thanks so much!
Glad to see you trying this. I always wondered if this would work. I can’t wait to see.
I’m happy to be able to show it!!!
iv nearly dug out all of my potatoes and going to try the mcgie method of planting crimson clover and leave it untill spring
If you get rain, you will be very happy with that decision!!
we did this to our field this year works great. you still get a few sprigs of grass or weeds here and there but overall 95+% weed free. we used white clover since it doesn't get very tall, we also cut it with sand, like 50/50 so I don't waste seeds. you don't need a lot, there're pretty good at filling in. Better than the weed suppression though is the moisture retention. we don't have to water anymore because of it. on a 90 degree day you can put your hand under the clover and its still moist from the dew. at the end of the season we'll till it under for extra green compost
Thanks my friend! I was thinking it should help with moisture....... that is great information!
really nice place to here I'm watching
Thanks my friend!
Good morning Micah.
You had me thinking about the Three Sisters Garden.
Praying this works out well for you. I'm looking forward to upcoming videos featuring the results of this experiment.
Stay happy, healthy, hydrated and safe. And may God continue to bless you and your family.
I’m looking forward to sharing this!
It’s hard to find quality tools any more. Good luck with the experiment. Take care and have a blessed rest of the week.
Busy Busy man again! Fingers crossed it works out my friend. Love your cap and your style very smart!
Thanks mate I really think it will work great!
@@McGieHomesteadAdventures 🤞
Love it!!!!
Thanks!
I hope this works out good ! It would have been cool to have put in some field pumpkins with it or sugar beets to feed the animals . Thanks for sharing !
Great ideas buddy..... there’s so many things I want to try!
Have you tried using a lawn seeder, one that you can pull behind your 4 wheeler? I wasn't sure how that might work for you. We've sold many of them at our auctions, most of the time they don't go for much, but they sure are handy, even out in the field.
Also, do ya'll have much trouble with Musk Thistle in your area? We use to have a terrible time with it and choking out our field grass.
I would LOVE to have a pull behind seeder!
We have thistle but I don’t think it is Musk thistle
Pretty soil
We’re blessed with good dirt!
I have a smaller garden that I want to plant cover crops on to help control weeks and build up my soil. If I plant in now in October when will it bloom. I'd love to have it until the blooms start to fade then maybe plant corn afterwards? I live in VA in Zone 7. Thanks.
Yes…. Now is perfect!
@@McGieHomesteadAdventures Thank you!
I wish I had the acreage you have to plant things like clover for my bees.
Oh my they would really love that!
I was wondering how you were going to keep the weeds down after tilling the one side 🤘
Maybe it’ll just work!🤞
OMG! You definitely got a work out on this day! Can you tell me if The red clover is OK for animals to eat? I thought about spreading it in my pasture for my horses and my calf but wanted to get an opinion from someone else. Great video thanks for sharing!🌻
Crimson clover is amazing for pigs I know for sure...... it’s got 25% crude protein that is 85% digestible! ........ however I haven’t put calves or horses on it. I read online that it can cause bloat, so be careful.
@@McGieHomesteadAdventures lord I definitely do not need that! Wonder how it is for chickens, turkeys and quail? Looks like I’m gonna be googling 😉
Where do you order your Clover seed from and how much ?
I buy it in 50# bags at our local garden center and or the local farmers Co-Op….. you can probably do the same where you are.
The company probably started making them in China. There's a lot of times when I don't like change. Seen it many times where they have a good product, and then they have to ruin it. Hope you get a good crop! Have a blessed day Brother
Absolutely true brother! Thanks I do too!!
I’ve still have our old seeder still works good only thing once I didn’t get all the seed out and mice chewed holes in it. So sowing the clover now should make a good food plot by the fall?
If I’m not too early. The heat and dry weather might cause problems, in which case I’ll just replant after corn harvest.
@@McGieHomesteadAdventures I’m going to try that clover this year in my food plot I’ve always done ladino so I might mixed them together and see what happens
Deer love it!
@@McGieHomesteadAdventures hope you get the rain in a timely manner , it’s quit raining here and got plenty hot!!
It’s raining here now!
i wonder if filling the sack that tightly had an affect?
I was afraid you might mention that....😂 It didn’t start slipping until half the bag was empty, but I could see how it still had that effect on it!
@@McGieHomesteadAdventures why me lol
Why not you? It takes a full sack to know one!😂😂😂
@@McGieHomesteadAdventures well a full sack normally has two in it lmao
How did this workout?
This is the crop……. And I showed the clover as well! ua-cam.com/video/ElPxzDsHmbw/v-deo.html
I'm surprised you don't weigh 90 pounds lol thats some heavy duty work 🥵
😂😂😂 as I mentioned in the monarch butterfly video earlier this week...... I’m a lot like them in the food to fat conversion 😂😂😂
Nothing is made to last anymore. Good luck
Thanks brother..... all the hand made tools that you make will last a good while I believe!
From Red-Pilled to Crimson.

Pete from *_Just A Few Acres Farm_* put out a phenomenal video yesterday and I’ve little doubt you’d probably align with a number of his observations.
