Although, one would rebuttal you with the importance of characters. Tony is crucial for the Marvel universe. Founding member of Avengers, tech genius (aside form Reed Richard). Ms. Marvel on the other hand is not as important as Tony. Although, I predict the film to do good.

But none of that's never gonna happen.
I have a feeling that to beat Thanos, through a series of events, all the original Avengers will reach their peak level strength, since we're likely not seeing most of them again. I'm talking World Breaker Hulk, Iron Man Prime, Rune King Thor, etc.

I'm not writing off Captain Marvel. I'm just scared of her being too boring, her moveset being too boring, and her being too powerful. I'm still going to see Captain Marvel opening day but I want Marvel to know our concerns so they can avoid them.
I am a Thor fan, but Thor didn't start out being the force of nature he's become. He worked up to being that. He's a veteran, she's a newcomer. You need to earn the title of "Most Powerful".
Also, with how much they're hyping her up as most powerful, I get worried they're going to have her demonstrate hnow she is definitively most powerful. Remember that the Thor vs Hulk question never gets answered and it's up to the fans who they think is more powerful. When Dr. Strange came along, the 3rd contender for most powerful, no one tried to say where he fell on the power spectrum. He never even fought the other 2 contenders. They're making a mistake by definitively saying a new hero is more powerful than the ones you've come to know and love.

Marvel did say that they will make Captain Marvel as human as possible so they are able to make her relatable I seriously don't get all the complaints surrounding the movie. It's looking great so far and Marvel has shown that time and time again.

The thing is everyone was happy to have a dr strange movie and those that didn’t know about that marvel character ended up liking the movie. the only thing was how would a powerful character like that fit in the MCU, is what people were saying. And the thing is they did good with it because only until infinity war has he became more powerful yet he still has much more room to improve for the fact that he just barely had just became the sorcerer supreme. And the thing with captain marvel is that right out the box there making it (seem) like she is going to be the savior of the whole universe, that she is the only chance for anything. Even if her movie comes out before Avengers 4. They already put her in a high pedal stool.

All of the heroes died except for the OG Avengers who are no match for Thanos except 2 or 3 members and even that won't be enough because he has all the stones. They need backup and who else can you think of that at least have the potential to be a challenge for Thanos? Also, there were a lot of people who had no idea who Dr. Strange was before his movie and he was liked. Even though they said before the movie came out that they practically needed him to stand a chance against Thanos. Which they were right because he was able to fight him one on one and we already know his prediction in Infinity War will play a big part in A4. Captain Marvel could be the same way. It wouldn't make sense to have 10 years of build up to have one character defeat Thanos. What would be the point of keeping the og Avengers alive?

An the thing is with infinity war there wasn’t much spot light on just one character besides thanos, and on this upcoming one it feels more a captain marvel movie if it makes sense? People are jumping the gun because they assume she'll be an SJW character, it's sad that there can't be a badass women anymore without being assuming that, strong female characters were never a problem before feminists/misanderists went overboard in today's political climate. Exactly, she's an actor, not a script writer. Chris Evans is liberal, yet Steve is a very conservative character because he's an actor so it's not fair for people to assume the movie will share the same political views as the actor. Plus, Feige cares deeply about making all of the characters likable and hired screenwriters who specifically wanted to make her a likable character. She's not likable in the current comic, but was as Ms. Marvel, so it's pretty obvious they'll do their best to change the movie from the current comics because they WANT her to be likable and relatable. Can't we just wait to see the movie before we judge it? And why do we always have to bring politics in it? Why do guys always assume a movie with a female lead will hate on men, when most of those movies (Aliens, Miss Congeniality, Terminator) don't. I know for a fact that the movie will be good. Idk if it will be mediocre like Iron Man 3 or epic like Doctor Strange, but the screenwriters who wrote the film are really good and the directors have never made a bad film. I've enjoyed each one they ever made. Plus, I've been a Brie Larson fan since she was in the movie Hoot and she comes across as a regular person in every movie she's in, so I'm excited.

Seriously, the amount of people hating this movie before it even coming out preplexed me so much. I don't like SJW either, but I don't see any signs of it from the trailers. They both are just like any other Marvel's trailers. What? Because she looked bored? And that's the reason her character will be bad? I really don't understand. Every reviewer I trusted already hating it, and the reasons are never make sense for me.
She is very SJW in the comics, I'll give them that. But who's to say she's going to be like that in the movies? Marvel Studios and Marvel Comics are two separate entities. Really the biggest issue is the power levels. The mcu fudged with the power levels making thor and hulk seem weaker. Yet captain marvel will be the most power character, even though she's not above thor in the comics. I know the movies and comics are different, but I'm not gonna fault some people for wanting more comic character accuracy. Had she not been billed by feige as the most powerful character they've introduced, people would be behind this movie 110%. DC actually did right by wonder woman making her powerful, but not above superman.
Brie Larson could be amazing for Captain Marvel. I mean Gal Gadot and Heath Ledger were criticized before, but they proved them wrong. Fans these days have different demands and expectations. Ma boi Gubz is right, we should just wait and see for ourselves. Brie Larson's all good and all but...

imo Marvel's got even more pressure for the whole female super hero thing because with DC, everybody knew Wonder Woman already, so yes there is pressure to introduce her well, but even if it failed, everyone would still know and love Wonder Woman. Captain Marvel isn't as popular of a mainstream female superhero, so if Marvel succeeds with this, I think they deserve more of that "female superhero praise" than DC got.

They fail at writing good stories. They SUCCEED in making likable characters. Avengers 2, Civil War, Ant-Man and the Wasp, hell even Infinity War are all prime examples of Marvel's ability to make likable characters but fail at writing an interesting and sensible story. The only reason the movies succeed in creating a cohesive world is because the characters themselves are thought of rather than the plots of a single movie, however that leaves the movies being worse off because they've focused almost solely on characters rather than plot.

It's the fact that her half her character revolves around her being female. I'm fine if you want female superheroes in your movies, I think that's great, but as long as it's a superhero that just so happens to be a female, not superhero that's only a superhero to have more female representation.

yeah but heath ledger as the joker turned out to be on of the strongest performances by any actor so the prejudice was not justified in that situation whereas brie larsons performance was... not, and she could have just kept her politics out of things, that is why she is taking flak from 'toxic' fans not because she was miscast, in my opinion the damage was done behind the scenes ithis is what has people on edge about this, no one wants politics rammed down their throat when they go to see a movie or build up to a movie, but what do i know im just ignorant...

People hated her casting before the trailer similarly to Ledger. Either way it was unfair at the time. Also actor personality shouldn't factor into character at all. For instance everyone loved and still loves Jevin Spacey's characters on screen even if he's a monster of a person. You don't go to see the actor you're seeing the character

Perfect. People who say that, are completely unfair. They are judging something without even seeing it! We’ve been there before, and lots of people had to shut up their mouths. I’m a Carol fan for 22 years. More than anyone, I could be worried about it. Iam so proud. Brie is Carol in absolutely anything. ON and OFF screen. People will be surprised by the script and the movie. It will mark an era. Also, she is THAT powerful in comics. If people don’t know it, that’s another problem. I can post here more than 50 facts proving it. Also, her movie had her first script written alongside Dr Strange’s and the very first Guardians movie. Her movie was officially announced in 2014, way before the phase 3 movies were released. Her movie has been planned to fit this story, she’s not coming from a small cameo or nowhere to save them. She’s got a BIG role, YES. She’s a link between both avengers, she’s a prequel. So yea, she was always meant to be this important. She’s going to give a big and very much needed help.
I have faith in Marvel.

He is right. She can't just do whatever she wants in the movie all willy-nilly. At the end of the day, she is still a professional, and she has signed a CONTRACT. Hollywood takes that sort of thing VERY seriously.
i'm honestly cautious, specially since the character got a bit controversial lately in the comics *cof*Civil war 2*cof* and Brie Larson's attempts to build hype...is quite a mixed bag. but you have some great points

We had Thor and Strange fighting alongside Spiderman and Captain America, and they made them all look awesome. Marvel definitively knows how to handle overpowered characters. I'm expecting a good movie, and I do trust Marvel at this point.
And yet, I can't help but feel there is just a small chance they might drop the ball on this one. Please Marvel, no deus ex machina endings, keep up the good work!
4:54 that’s kind of a fair point except for the fact that she actually has a connection waaaay earlier in the timeline. She did know Nick Fury and that’s why he called her in the first place to help the Avengers out
We just lost a bunch of heros in Infinity War... I'm ready to follow another storyline especially with a female hero because we didn't get much from Scarlet Witch and black widow.
Let's talk about the notion of miscasting. Way back when Heath Ledger was cast as the Joker, there was a ton of heat for it and many, including myself, decried the casting. Look what happened; The Dark Knight still stand as one the greatest, if not THE greatest comic movie ever, and that actually thanks in large to Heath Ledger's performance. Here's another example; Mark Ruffulo replacing Edward Norton as Bruce Banner/Hulk. There was some considerable controversy there but come 2012, Ruffulo blew everyone away with his portrayal of Banner. Some can argue that they preferred Norton over Ruffulo and that's cool, that's their preference. Oddly, nobody really complained about Don Cheadle replacing Terrence Howard in the MCU as James Rhodes/War Machine. What about the perceived 'miscasting' of Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman? So, the idea of Brie Larson being quote "a miscast" as Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel doesn't really hold water in the grand scheme of things, especially when we haven't even seen the first trailer. Brie's certainly made some controversial statement but as the video suggested, she's an actor, not a screenwriter. She has her beliefs and she's going to stick to them, but I don't think those beliefs will be at all enforced in the upcoming Captain Marvel movie. I have to believe that the people at Marvel Studio and especially Kevin Feige are smart enough to avoid the pitfalls of the The Last Jedi. I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt as I've always done.
Do I think Captain Marvel be successful? I would say yes, but ONLY to a certain extent. Do I think it's going to be better than Avengers: Infinity War? That's not a question I can answer accurately. That's why whenever I go to the movie, I go with my expectations kept in check. Do I think the claims of Captain Marvel being powerful enough to actually move planets? Absolutely not? If that were the case, then she could've easily killed Ego the Living Planet in Guardians Vol. 2 all in one shot. So yeah, I'm giving Brie Larson as Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel the benefit of the doubt. That approach has served me well over 10 years of the MCU and I don't see it biting back at me. If Captain Marvel is successful, then it's successful. If it fails, then it fails. We will see which the pendulum swings in 2019.
Honestly I think people are just complaining about this movie because of Brie Larson. A marvel movie is a marvel movie to me.
