  • Drivesavers has predatory pricing. routinely quotes every iPhone data recovery in the $3000-$5000 range. This is THOUSANDS more than the market price for iPhone data recovery from qualified professionals. We'd like to shine a light on this. #drivesaverspredatorypricing

    This video is so-much inspiring and informational. Thanks for sharing it to the world. This is the first time I saw someone actually change IC on a iphone motherboard, I always thought it is impossible by hand.

    Wow great video, Jess. It's been quite a while since I've seen any iPad Rehab videos mostly because I simply don't have the time to sit through a one hour (typ) video. But this one really caught my attention and because it was "only" 24 minutes long I made it to the end. Glad I did because this kind of repair and customer save is SO freaking satisfying to watch. Job well done, Jess.
    p.s. You look really great. I mean that. Just wow!

      There’s a dot on the chip that marks the A1 position. If I forget, then I can look up A1 on the boardview, or just glance at a matching board. Thanks for watching!

    I thought they had devices for accessing the memory chip directly now. I could take it off the board and “plug it into” the device.

    So does John now get his phone back as it looks like you repaired it with the chip change, or do you keep his phone and just send him a data recovery disk?

    • @JessaJones
      @JessaJones  Рік тому +4

      Both. We always recover data to a usb drive so this can’t happen again. Then, if it’s reasonable to send it back working we will do that as well-for anyone who isn’t just trading the phone in

    why people have no backups ? Google drive do it automatically

    • @Phoenix22Ger
      @Phoenix22Ger Рік тому

      Apple Icloud has limit for free account in EU of 5 GB. So I can't backup everything what I want. But you are right, if data is important, then you need at least 3 different location of storage for backup (e.g. bank, other location than in own room.)

    • @ACOnetwork
      @ACOnetwork Рік тому

      Why? Some people do not think that device will die while others does not care or posponing (lazyness) untill it hits them.
      Loooong time ago that I wanted to backup data from HDD for the first time ever I wanted to do it next day because I was still doing stuff that day on the PC. So evening came, I turn on the PC and bam. Windows desktop shows up, mouse I could move but PC became non responsive. Turned PC of and back on... HDD was not detected anymore. That day I lost 1,5 years of photos and videos but I think I still have that HDD in my closet. Just to fix up my health I will start practicing micro soldering and fault detection and later try to fix broken HDD's 😁.
      So yeah, BACKUP is necesety unless you do not care about the data on your device 😁
      Have amazing day everyone 😎👍

      @@ACOnetwork windows is a different story, no automatic data backup is set up. But on the phone, at least Android, it is set automatically when you set up a device for the first time. Then as soon as the phone is connected to any Wifi, backup is again done automatically.

      Not everyone is savvy enough to do so, no matter how tech companies try to dumb it down for the average user.

    • @ronlevin2339
      @ronlevin2339 Рік тому

      @@blakegriplingph I think that with time we just became more "stupid",and rely on the companies to deal with our problems. Once, if any device has gone bad, anyone has basic tools at home to fix it. Now if anything is broken, we immediately take it to the repair shop or just replace it, we do not even think about opening it by ourselves.
      I have a set of screwdrivers at home, a heat gun, soldering station, a microscope to do all the small things by myself. BGA chips like here are out of my league, but small chips, caps, resistors I can do it. Once it was a norm, now it looks strange to have it at home.

    drivesavers use the apple approved method, if it wont start replace charge port or screen and then if it dont work look for the next step..
    its the same method i use when i try and find a pc issue from a description, i hear what they say and tell them what it may be but it can be several issues and i wont know the real issue,

    Why don't you use acetone to clean the glue under the chip be better. Does he get his phone back?
    Theoretically you could make a power terminal that replaces the chip by pressure if you know what voltages you need on each rail. a good working chip could be mapped out put into software and reapplied through a terminal plate pins.
    Another way of mapping out a chip is dissolving each layer and plotting it in a software spreadsheet Will give you a software working chip, I've seen a guy on UA-cam does it who worked for NASA.

    • @JessaJones
      @JessaJones  Рік тому +2

      Oh my that’s a heckuva a lot more difficult than just replacing the chip. Don’t forget timing of power rails and all the feedback, and CPU data communication of the pmic.

    • @hoobsgroove
      @hoobsgroove Рік тому

      @@JessaJones yeah I hear you but all of that could be programmed into software what you're saying, yes making it up from scratch is a pain but after it's all done it can be replicated and easily manufactured if you needed more than one or a few, and it can be adapted for any other chips. I thought it was an issue getting hold of these chips from China? That's why I say it.
      And with the new manufacturing of ICs in America would that be easier or harder get hold of ics?
      I was thinking as well could you not use AI, To simulate a phone? you just plug the phone in and AI will do all the checking analysis, plus t can find a fault in the chip and look on its database and bypass that fault. You just need a cradle with pins that match onto the chips pins and just press analysis, plus it can isolate a chip and use its own database chip.
      One benefit of having a simulated chip in software if you have got a data chip that is corrupted it doesn't mean you would necessarily lose all your data, because you can mix the chip from the device with the software chip simulation and recover it's data.
