My snake definitely has good feeling for me. She's always refusing to go back into her enclosure, she wraps up all over my my hands and is always in my hair and clothes. She immediately looks at me when I put her back in. She can be in my husband's hands and find her way back to me. She's super calm, I can touch her face, mouth, everything. It's crazy ❤️
Mine always is up against the glass watching me n come out if I open lid, people say all they want is food and that’s not true… just because they can’t talk x

I am able to tell the difference between the way my ball python grips my neck when he just wants warmth versus when he is trying to pet me back. So I believe at a certain level snakes do have feelings.
I agreed I have a bp and she will wrap around my neck and just start moving like she is giving me a neck massage it is like she can tell I'm tense and she wants to help me she is also so cute she will come up and give me kisses as well
every time i put my snake on my neck, she starts moving her tail in a circle, kinda like a tail wag. She also starts flicking her tongue in short quick spurts, like if she's smelling the air to check if it's safe. Then she coils around my neck and squeezes because our body temperatures are warm against their cold skin. Then she chills on my neck for a few hours until i'm ready to put her back, i also watch tv and youtube vids with my snake around my neck, but it's hard to tell if she's really paying attention or not. Then I put her back without a fuss, I can say my snake loves me for the most part. She definitely trusts me and i trust her, so with any animal love can be achieved. Keep the vids coming! Ben88 That’s actually a blanket statement. Snakes (some not all) hearing is between the 200 to 300 hz range. Our voices are around 250 hz. They may not be able to hear well but they can hear.
They definitely can feel their own version of “love” not what humans call love. But In their head it’s like safety ,security , and serenity . All life feels if it got a heart or brain or both it can feel .
just came to say my findings, yes however not an exact same chemical reaction as ours. my snake gets to climb around on a climbing pen and when spoken too he goes out of his way to close in and say hi, even multiple times so it is not out of curiousity
It's unbelievable to see for my own eyes how intelligent reptiles are. My male leopard gecko never left his dying (from natural causes) mate and stayed laying on top of her until her heart stopped beating, it was heartbreaking. I remember them cuddling together inside their hide... My poor elderly male must feel so lonely now without her 💔 My newly bought baby female python recognises my smell and though she clearily hears and sees me being still clumsy as hell with the terrarium lock etc she never once hissed at me. She is vary of everyone in the house except of me and when only I am near her, she loves to explore, look around, climb, slide behind my pillows and over my body... She is trully adorable, gentle and allert. Her intelligence makes me wonder if it's her first life on earth or if she's incarnation of some scientist from the past XD
I've seen my Python watching the tv briefly before for just a few seconds at a time, but i do wonder if any of that is retained in the memory. Great video, thank you.
I reckon their capabilities are generally underestimated. I have an interesting example: I have three vivs in one room, one snake in each. All three eat rats, and are very good feeders. I generally feed these at different times. When I feed the carpet python, my boa constrictor, whose head is usually outside her hide, in ambush position, she just stays put, even when I go up to the glass. But when I have a rat thawing for HER, in a separate room, when I enter the room where the three vivs are, she more often than not comes to life, and I need to approach carefully so she doesn't strike the glass. It can have nothing to do with her picking up the scent of the rat, otherwise she would behave the same way when I feed the other two. When I first got her, I would put some newspaper down and offer her food on there so she didn't take in substrate. I soon stopped that, because after two or three feeds, when I opened up to put in the newspaper, she would come forward fast (for a b.c.), and strike wth a vengeance! Yet she's one of the most docile snakes I've cared for.
Chris you mentioned the 2 king snakes you had together and were chummy. I bought a pair of het pieds 8 or 9 years ago. They were separated of course in a stand 20 gallon long. I would watch them ate night for a while.Long story short. I can place them together at any time and he will go right up on top of her (she is bigger of course by 400 grams) immediately. I swear they are in love. I bought a pewter het pied male and he is big enough to breed. Tossed him in there with her. She didn't want anything to do with him. Even left them in there about 4 days, the next day put het male back in with her. LOCKED within a hour. If people don't think snakes have feelings, they have not been around BPs that much & same thing goes to these warehouse breeders.
Snakes are driven by electrical and environmental stimuli and react based on a set of preprogrammed behaviors distilled in them since birth. This is what I got from studying snake's for over 50 years.
My thoughts are they can have affection toward us but most folks think since we’re wired differently that snakes can’t or don’t! Silly humans think they know everything.
I am taking care one of my friend's ball python, he told me that ball python is chill but actually not... She hisses every time when I pick her up and once she snapped at me lol. My friend told me she never done that to him.
My daughter has a young ball python who knows her voice very well. I know she and the other snakes like her. I was sitting next to her holding the lil girl snake and as happy as she was, she would hear my daughter talking and move to get back to her. I really can't wait to buy one of my own. 😁
I miss my ball python so danm mutch. I had to move out of my place my roommate needed the room back. The place where I am now doesent alow pets of any kind. I had no other choice but this place....I miss my snake 😭
Well I'm trying to teach my ball to fallow the sound of my voice haha.. most of the times he comes my way..( may be my scent ) as from when I got him,I had put a T-shirt of mine over his cage so my scent is near him all the time ..May be why? who knows I love my Venom the ball python haha.
I see a lot of discussion on this topic. Here's my two cents. If a person wants to believe their ball python is capable of love, what's the harm in that? I think it would only increase your caring and love for the animal. We love deeper when we feel that love is reciprocated. And I think loving a pet is a wonderful way to learn about how to love, about selflessness, about protecting something that looks to you for care and nurturing. Personally, believing that a ball python is an emotionless noodle with a head would be no fun for me, so maybe our belief that they can feel love serves us more than them. At any rate, an emotional bond with a pet can't be a bad thing in my opinion.
Got a baby BP and took in a new one the other day. I let the new one borrow the baby's log for the time being.... Found it very interesting when after cleaning her cage, she just roamed around the middle of her enclosure looking confused. This was totally out of character for her.. took me a few minutes to realize she was wondering where her dang log was. Fact that she noticed its absence says something about there intelligence I feel.
I have 3 corn snakes and the first one I got is really affectionate. It will come out of its hade when i come into the room, even if its not hungry. As soon as i open the tank it will crawl up to me and go up my arm as it wants to come out. It is totally relaxed and chilled out and will not want to get off me or escape. I can watch TV and it will go up the sleeve of my shirt and curl up on my belly and go to sleep. I can even take it outside and let it craw about in the garden and climb in the bushes. I will come back to me and climb back up my arm when i reach out to it. It even will crawl up to me if I set it away from me on the ground, rather then crawl away. My other 2 snakes are so different, even thought I raised them the same. One is always edgy and a bit nervous.. not trusting me. The other one is just a typical snake, it tolerated being handled but would prefer to get down and craw away.
Chris, you’ve mentioned the bitey pastel spider in other videos and I was wondering, have you considered that the issue may not be a negative association with you, but perhaps there is a genetic neurological issue? The spiders have already known neurological issues, so it wouldn’t surprise me if there isn’t more going on here than meets the eye. I say this as someone who’s worked with a lot of animal species in training and care capacities. Typically, if you spend time working with the troubled ones as you have, there is marked improvement. The only time I’ve seen this not be the case was when there was some genetic issue likely happening. Just wanted to throw that out there. But my next question is, how badly beaten up from the shipping was this snake?
Hey Chris, not sure if you will see this as I am a bit late to the party. I am biased but I feel that parrots are probably the most affectionate pets. I am not saying that they like everyone that really isn't the case, but you know when you are a parrot's favorite person. My African grey (who turned 41 years old this year), is extremely affectionate to me and my daughter. He likes my wife ok but before I had him he was abused by a woman. So he will cuddle with her sometimes, but not always. All of my birds from a macaw down to a budgie all love to watch TV. Honestly my budgie watches more TV than anyone else in the house. If you turn her TV off she will let you know that is not acceptable. My two small birds (lovebird and budgie) are both very affectionate, and the lovebird feels she should be allowed to sleep in my beard. But on to snakes. We just got our first snake, a corn snake. He is a trip, and not what I expected. We have had him for a few months now and of course we made some mistakes. Like I was worried about substrate impaction so I took him out of his enclosure to feed him. He hated the bin we use for feeding and kept trying to get ahold of either me or my wife. After not being able to get him to feed I picked him up and my wife still had the mouse close on the tongs. Once he got ahold of me, he gently stretched toward the mouse and slowly took it. He kept a tight hold on me the whole time. After this and people telling me I should feed in the enclosure I tried that. He refused to eat. Being a young snake I didn't want him to skip meals so we tried again the next night. We were about to give up and picked him up and almost instantly he became interested in the mouse, and gently took it. Since then we let him have it his way. All of us have either been the holder of the snake or the holder of the tongs, but he only likes to eat when we hold him. I have no idea why, but we feel that he feels secure. When we hold him he like to go back and forth between the three of us, however you can tell that my wife is his favorite. He will nuzzle against her and wrap himself tightly to her. He doesn't act that way for me or my daughter. I don't know if he can feel "love", but fairly sure he understands, security, warmth, safety, and comfort. Good enough for me. Also I heard that with garters that they can form bonds with others. Once again not sure if its feeling or just, "Hey good things happen when I hang out with Bob, so I will do that".
The issue is that snake brains don't have the parts of the brain needed to feel emotion. If your snake seems affectionate, that's most likely them recognizing you as a means to survive and as such will be much less aggressive towards you since they don't deem you as a threat. If you stop feeding them or forget to feed them, leave their habitat unattended for longer than needed, etc., they'll most likely start seeing you as unwelcome since you stopped providing its basic needs for it.
"I honestly think cats are smarter than dogs" Button-using talking dogs with existential crises: Am I a joke to you? In all seriousness, I don't think dogs as a whole are less intelligent. I think they may rely more on emotion to function, whereas cats rely less on emotion and snakes rely even less on emotion- thus seeming smarter; because in its place they rely on logic and instinct.
Maybe it’s more people not having the capacity to connect with snakes then the snake not being able to connect to people. I have a relationship with each snake I have, they each have their own distinct personality. I spend a great deal of time with each of them and I would have to strongly disagree with those that think a snake is the equivalent of a pet rock. In some cases of narrow minded people I would certainly have to question which is the smarter species, the snake or the human🤔I think I’ll just stick with the snakes❤️
I could be wrong, but, I don’t think that’s what the kingsnakes were doing, really one was probably just trying to “run off” the other one. They don’t have appendages so, besides standing up and noodle fighting like males sometimes do, they will try and irritate each other into leaving the area by laying on top of each other, pushing each other out of good hiding places, warm spots, etc. Garter snakes are an exception, they actually tend to do quite well with cohabitation. Enjoy the vids though, keep em coming!
Ik my snake has intelligence because I always dangle his food from one corner of his tank and when I gets close to feeding day he is always trying to push up that corner.
any animal can feel and shows affection i mean ofc not like us how us humans shows love and affection but when any type of animals receives affection they will show you they will either get defensive or just be calm one thing about love is that love don’t only have to be felt by humans any animals or maybe insect can feel the love we show or give them❤️
Anyone that's been around snakes for while u will soon see they are actually quiet smart and after taken one of mine to vet for a shot he jumped and moved so fast up and around my neck even the vet said he obviously feels safe with you I think they absolutely had some feelings, also I don't know where you get the idea about cats but they are actually pretty smart too well mine are
They actually can't. Snake owners may feel though their snake recognizes them and is more eager to be held by them than anyone else but they can't feel emotions such as love or affection. It's just facts.
My BP has yet to give me a reason to think he's really all that smart, lol. Plus Im pretty sure he could care less if |I live or die (just as long as someone is around to feed him.) he's still so young though and I havent had him long. Ive seen too many videos of these snakes forming something of a connection to an owner I do wonder if mine can too. That would be kind of cool, though I dont put much hope on it because I know he's not a dog. And h'e's amazing and adorable as he is. Ive seen enough pictures of BPs watching TV and UA-cam though to wonder if I should show him my computer next time he's out hahaha. I just found this channel recently and wanna say great work. Im loving the information.
Just FYI an easy way to tame snakes is to use thick gloves when handling them, they'll bite and bite but eventually tire and understand that biting does nothing. The snake neither likes you or dislikes you, it's just scared most likely. Perhaps it was abused before you got it. Best to do this before feeding and use the food as a sort of reward so it begins to associate you handling it with feed time. Could take a few minutes could take months but even the craziest snake will calm down and if it's not calm by then I'd take it to a specialist as it could be injured , sick or even blind sometimes they'll take a blow to the head and never be the same again , though that usually makes them easier to handle as head injuries lead to retardation and lethargy.
Why would he get mishandled in the mail? Aren’t they supposed to know that there is a live animal in there ? I need more info on this, I was thinking of traveling and sending my baby with me, but I will not do it If she will be affected in any way.
In regards to intelligence I think it’s more to do with pack animals and animals that hunt alone. Dogs are easier to train as they are pack animals where as cats are very independent
Honestly snakes are very smart they have excelent survival skills and on a plus snakes sometimes go to humans for help yesterday let a rat snake drink some of my water to help him or her idk how to tell if it's a girl or a boy
Any animal can feel love that’s my belief to a small ladybug to a large elephant all creatures of the sea,air or land are capable to sense, express and experience love if a wasp, lion, snake or any animal feels threatened they will go into attack mood we all no that but what if it was the opposite if you show respect for a wasp it won’t attack if you give any animal it’s space and respect you will be cool lol same for a snake personally if you love and nurture it you guys will be the Besties of friends all animals are Capable of feeling love or threaten animals are smaller than we think they are lots of animals are smarter than humans lots of animals show way better love to us and to people better much then we can so who can say that animals don’t have feelings
I think dogs are 100percent usually smarter then cats judging by people who have owend multiple cats & fostered multiple cats and dogs. Snakes how ever i am very curious as it seems we dont know as much about them.
I agreed I have a bp and she will wrap around my neck and just start moving like she is giving me a neck massage it is like she can tell I'm tense and she wants to help me she is also so cute she will come up and give me kisses as well
I am sorry but the moment we anthropomorphize these animals is the moment we cross a line. Snakes are not human they do not love as we do they only tolerate us. This is a very important thing to understand and that is okay that it's a one way love street. I live my snakes, but I respect them with the understanding that they do not love me the same way. People with this 'my snake loves me' notion can be deadly especially when you bring in anaconda, Burmese, and rock pythons that can eat humans. There are stories of people letting their snake free roam and sleep with them then getting eaten it's not fabricated. They are not dogs or cats these are predators that Hunt, digest, and breed. It's okay that they don't love you we need to accept this as a whole as someone who sees this might end up in a dangerous situation if they have a much larger snake that they are raising up. These animals have boundaries they don't like to be pet you can hold them that is fine but as far as they are concerned your just a warm branch to hang out on. This is just an undeniable fact about these animals and a lesson that has been learned the hard way over and over again :/.
I find it funny that ya mentioned rock python, cause my dad used to have a rock python (named Rocky wow very creative dad lol) and he actually did train him very basically lol, to be fair he had Rocky since birth and took him pretty much everywhere. My parents got rid of Rocky before I was born after they had my older brother due to the fact, yeah Rocky could eat this two-year-old and gave him to a circus, I would have loved to meet Rocky though.
No, the snake he has with him and any others in the video are not venomous, also no snake can be poisonous, venomous is the right terminology (though it's an easy slip up so don't worry bout it :) )
Yes, sir. They do. My Banana is feeling hungry haha Its feeding Friday! I need to get rats but Idk where to get any live or frozen thawed. I need specifically rat pups.
My Ball Python, 'Vegeta the Golden Terror' or 'GT' for short, actually watches tv as well. I think he may get somewhat hypnotized because his head, very gently, sways back and forth.. BTW: He's a gold and brown Enchi Fire het Ghost, hence the name, 'GOLDEN terror'..
Snakes and reptiles in general (Especially snakes, lizards and birds) are extremely intelligent snakes and other reptiles definitely have emotions reptiles most likely don't feel the emotion of love but they can care about you even to the point that some will even sacrifice themselves for you or at least protect you they can bond with you and a lot more but i can tell you that that theory you have about more intelligent animals being harder to train is false and cats are not harder to train than dogs that's a mixture of most people taking care of there cats wrong, stereotypes and more that's not to say that cats are not more intelligent than dogs it was around 11 at night when i wrote this and i'm quite tired i'm just up late tonight and i forgot which was more intelligent in general (Obviously intelligence varies between individuals) also i am a animal behaviourist (The simple name for someone who studies non human animal behaviour), a biologist and paleontologist (Or palaeontologist however you like to spell it) also pretty much any animal that can see the screen will watch if they find it interesting the only difference when it comes to watching television between humans and other animals is that most humans know roughly how it works and are more likely to be entertained by it and things like television, technology in general, speed, sound, how they display affection, how good they are or how lucky they are at mazes and limbs have nothing to do with intelligence also humans are nowhere near the most intelligent creatures we probably have the intelligence of an average ape also we don't fully know how intelligence works we just know that you need to be sentient for it we have disproven the hypothesis's that it has something to do with brain size, iq (By the way the iq idea was ridicules they are completely different tests one using knowledge that it's billions of users had been taught for years and the other taking 7 to 500 individuals and judging them on figuring out puzzles they had never seen before and didn't even know they even had to do they both also have different scoring systems) or brain to brain to body ratio the most accurate way we have to measure intelligence is by the average number of neurons creatures have in there brains also sorry for not using punctuation and probably making some spelling mistakes i'm quite tired and this is a youtube comment also it's they not it they aren't objects also you really need a hide and some leaves, rocks or sticks in you snake rack other wise they'll probably hat it in there also snakes don't modes they have instinctual behaviours like the food response which encourages them to strike at what they think is food they don't just cycle through modes well no more than humans do and that snake rack is way to small both sides or at least 2 sides need to be as long as the snake so i would suggest an upgrade these various reasons might be part of why that snake doesn't like you also snakes have more motivations than food also that thing where they lightly squeeze. there carers is the trying to hold on tighter.
There are a lot of things we humans do not know. So stop concluding and judging. Lets keep the wonder. My spider morph bp defies all they conclude about spider morphs. Stop the labeling on people and on animals. There is so much we do not know. What i do know for sure is that my snakes loves me. We connected.🥰🥰🥰🥰😍
chris, i get what you're saying, but a few things need to be said. first, cats aren't smarter than dogs. take it from a cat owner. emotional intelligence in our pets provides them with an understanding that they are 'owned' by their human, and since that is a prominently developed feature in dogs, they are readily available to 'please' and protect their owners, by learning tricks, spending time in your company, grooming you and keeping a watch for you. cats identify humans as part of their clan since the idea of having a master is foreign to them, but still do form strong bonds. since they don't commonly understand 'ownership' they generally feel no compulsion to listen to their owners, and at times even decidedly ignore them. understand that snakes are reptiles. as much as we would like to romanticize our ball pythons and corn snakes, reptiles as a rule of thumb are only capable of displaying very basic emotions- fear, aggression and a primitive form of pleasure when feeding or when being pet. but even this varies depending on the species and not all are capable of the whole register there is a hierarchy of intelligence in reptiles- turtles and tortoises, lizards and snakes, in that order. turtles do show preferences for human handlers over others, while that may not qualify as 'love' necessarily, it's close. lizards enjoy being handled and stroked, it pleases them, iguanas are known to exhibit different personalities and traits and in particular do form bonds with specific handlers. snakes, on the other hand do not generally exhibit any of these traits, and as emotionally attached as we are to our slithering friends, that doesn't change the facts. evolutionarily speaking, love and emotional attachment have not been needed by snakes as a species. it's something that may develop way down the line as they progress, but here and now, snakes simply are incapable of exhibiting emotions, and especially at the level that some of you seek to assert here. what snakes can display, in a similar fashion to other reptiles, is a preference for certain handlers, a sense of ease around them and thus a freedom to act naturally, without fear or aggresion. you are not a companion to your snake, snakes don't have friends. you're at best just a creature that they don't see as a potential threat. and if you want to call that 'love', i'm sorry, you're delusional.
I saw a video about the tortoise, they say it's the smartest reptile. I'm guessing it's because they live the longest and can learn the most. Apparently they tested the intelligence of the tortoise with a maze, pretty amazing!
My ball python watched all tv and UA-cam videos. But I swear, he knows when his favorite is on. As soon as a put on northern lion he pops his head out of his cave and watches.
That's awesome!

How are you and your snake today?
I feel that most people mess up already when they dont realize that our feelings are just highly developed instincts.
In some Asian country, if you kill a snek, it is told they will haunt you spiritually because these things have abundants of feelings.
Interesting!
I think snakes can definitely have feelings if they feel fear/content they most likely can feel love..just me though

They ''cuddle'' you because they like to feel your warmth. Snakes CANT feel. They DO NOT give a shit about you.

They definitely can feel their own version of “love” not what humans call love. But In their head it’s like safety ,security , and serenity . All life feels if it got a heart or brain or both it can feel .
What a sweet person you are. Thank you for your channel.
So nice of you!
LOL my Ball Python will come out and watch youtube videos with me :p His habitat is right by my computer.
OUR SNAKES DO TOO
My python went crazy when I got my glasses, after a month she loves crawling around them
just came to say my findings, yes however not an exact same chemical reaction as ours. my snake gets to climb around on a climbing pen and when spoken too he goes out of his way to close in and say hi, even multiple times so it is not out of curiousity
These two snakes have beautiful patterns
What I'm pretty sure of my snakes is that they LOVE feeding time. 😂
Don't they see heat? Maybe they see it as a hot box
I really enjoyed your take on this. Thanks 👍
I have an albino California king snake and I love him more than anything. I personally think he has a big personality and has feelings.
also your videos are great :)
Thanks for your videos! Got my first ball python about 2 weeks ago and your videos are very cool and helpful!
Thanks!
My thoughts are they can have affection toward us but most folks think since we’re wired differently that snakes can’t or don’t! Silly humans think they know everything.
I agree!
I am taking care one of my friend's ball python, he told me that ball python is chill but actually not... She hisses every time when I pick her up and once she snapped at me lol. My friend told me she never done that to him.
By the way she never eats in front of me, the only way I feed her is to place a rat in her enclosure and check it next morning.
@@luotingkun I hope it wasn't alive! They can cause damage
My daughter has a young ball python who knows her voice very well. I know she and the other snakes like her. I was sitting next to her holding the lil girl snake and as happy as she was, she would hear my daughter talking and move to get back to her. I really can't wait to buy one of my own. 😁
I'm convinced that 2 outta 5 of my snakes love me! lol. They're the same 2 that watch tv--or at least seem to show curiosity & pay attention...
I miss my ball python so danm mutch. I had to move out of my place my roommate needed the room back. The place where I am now doesent alow pets of any kind. I had no other choice but this place....I miss my snake 😭
Gotta find them
I’d like to think my snakes likes me :) They always come out their enclosures in to my hands and happily sits on me.
That tortoise looks so done 😂😂
My dog watches tv for hours!! She’s super interested, especially when animals are on screen
I got a pastel boa today it’s so cute 😍😍😍
Scotty Rushing I think they can love it’s just that we potentially can be prey. Can you love a cow that you’re going to eat?
@@nonyobussiness3440 yes that's how some things work you end up getting connected and it's hard to imagine the end result
You CAN'T compare a snake to a cat. YOU ABSOLUTELY CAN TRAIN A CAT!!!
Well snakes actually can make noises. My Burmese Python is hissing loudly when he‘s in the blue. 😎
The other one is just a typical snake, it tolerated being handled but would prefer to get down and craw away.
love the videos chris
Everyone after this video is looking up the video of those people training the snakes.
I've always wondered what a snake bite feels like.
My ball python has left and returned for weeks even months outside. I had her trained to go into the bathtub and do her business right over the drain.
I heard that snakes r born independent and can hunt and leave the mother at birth pretty cool right
"I honestly think cats are smarter than dogs"
Button-using talking dogs with existential crises: Am I a joke to you?
In all seriousness, I don't think dogs as a whole are less intelligent. I think they may rely more on emotion to function, whereas cats rely less on emotion and snakes rely even less on emotion- thus seeming smarter; because in its place they rely on logic and instinct.
Both of my Ball pythons will watch UA-cam with me. My 3-year-old is watching this with me, right now. 💕
I feel like they're kind of like cats, but mainly instinctive
Nice!
My python and my dog love each other they like playing hide and seek. My dog won, I haven’t seen him in hours
That's horrible. Dad jokes
Actually being trainable is a sign of intelligence. Dogs are extremely smart, just undignified
any animal can feel and shows affection i mean ofc not like us how us humans shows love and affection but when any type of animals receives affection they will show you they will either get defensive or just be calm one thing about love is that love don’t only have to be felt by humans any animals or maybe insect can feel the love we show or give them❤️
Anyone that's been around snakes for while u will soon see they are actually quiet smart and after taken one of mine to vet for a shot he jumped and moved so fast up and around my neck even the vet said he obviously feels safe with you I think they absolutely had some feelings, also I don't know where you get the idea about cats but they are actually pretty smart too well mine are
I think it loves you, snake love seems very tranquil.
👍😎👌
I know people think snakes can't love back but I think they can
They actually can't. Snake owners may feel though their snake recognizes them and is more eager to be held by them than anyone else but they can't feel emotions such as love or affection. It's just facts.
dogs are smartet because they know that you if they do what you want them to do its higher chance of getting snack
Good point!
I've worked with ball pythons and other reptiles like monitors and iguanas I can say they all have odd personalities
Glad you like my channel!
This is one of my favourite vids about BPs!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
100% on point....💚🐍
Just FYI an easy way to tame snakes is to use thick gloves when handling them, they'll bite and bite but eventually tire and understand that biting does nothing. The snake neither likes you or dislikes you, it's just scared most likely. Perhaps it was abused before you got it.
Best to do this before feeding and use the food as a sort of reward so it begins to associate you handling it with feed time.
Could take a few minutes could take months but even the craziest snake will calm down
and if it's not calm by then I'd take it to a specialist as it could be injured , sick or even blind
sometimes they'll take a blow to the head and never be the same again , though that usually makes them easier to handle as head injuries lead to retardation and lethargy.
do all snakes get trauma from being shipped? have you had snakes that are perfectly fine after getting them from being shipped?
😭😭 this is sad they’re so cute I wish they could love
Some people think they can!
Yeah I feel like snakes do have some type of connection that we can’t explain with humans I’m not sure if it’s love but it’s something special
Why would he get mishandled in the mail? Aren’t they supposed to know that there is a live animal in there ? I need more info on this, I was thinking of traveling and sending my baby with me, but I will not do it If she will be affected in any way.
Ours like the piano :)
In regards to intelligence I think it’s more to do with pack animals and animals that hunt alone. Dogs are easier to train as they are pack animals where as cats are very independent
You know why ball pythons watch television? It's a heat source.
Training and showing emotions are different. They literally don’t have the part in the brain which shows emotion.
One of my ball pythons watch tv with me every day 😍
That's awesome!
Honestly snakes are very smart they have excelent survival skills and on a plus snakes sometimes go to humans for help yesterday let a rat snake drink some of my water to help him or her idk how to tell if it's a girl or a boy
Mine watches tv every day I sometimes leave it on for him
Nice!
No way! Tv 😂 I’m getting my ball python soon
👍😎👌
I find it funny that ya mentioned rock python, cause my dad used to have a rock python (named Rocky wow very creative dad lol) and he actually did train him very basically lol, to be fair he had Rocky since birth and took him pretty much everywhere. My parents got rid of Rocky before I was born after they had my older brother due to the fact, yeah Rocky could eat this two-year-old and gave him to a circus, I would have loved to meet Rocky though.
How can I buy a snake from you
I only sell at local reptile shows here in Colorado.
If you really belive that a snake is smarter then a cat then what would a smart animals experience be like having to live in a tray.
Is your snake poisonous
No, the snake he has with him and any others in the video are not venomous, also no snake can be poisonous, venomous is the right terminology (though it's an easy slip up so don't worry bout it :) )
Yes I know a b. Python that loves to watch cartoons. All animals when given tlc n love show affection
My bearded dragon watches full movies haha
That's awesome!
Sounds about right. Mine watches me game and sometimes gets really close to the tv to watch what's going on
My ball python watched some of Harry Potter: and the Chamber of Secrets with me and my mom.
Yes, sir. They do. My Banana is feeling hungry haha Its feeding Friday! I need to get rats but Idk where to get any live or frozen thawed. I need specifically rat pups.
I used to buy them at rodentpro.com

My Ball Python, 'Vegeta the Golden Terror' or 'GT' for short, actually watches tv as well. I think he may get somewhat hypnotized because his head, very gently, sways back and forth..
BTW: He's a gold and brown Enchi Fire het Ghost, hence the name, 'GOLDEN terror'..
My snakes free roam check em out Chris they all sleep with me too

My ex didn’t
It's definitely an awesome topic to discuss. With all due respect though most of the evidence you've brought to the table is anecdotal
Well it is scientifically proven that snakes don't feel love or affection. They only see you as a source of food and heat.
chris, i get what you're saying, but a few things need to be said. first, cats aren't smarter than dogs. take it from a cat owner.
emotional intelligence in our pets provides them with an understanding that they are 'owned' by their human, and since that is a prominently developed feature in dogs, they are readily available to 'please' and protect their owners, by learning tricks, spending time in your company, grooming you and keeping a watch for you. cats identify humans as part of their clan since the idea of having a master is foreign to them, but still do form strong bonds. since they don't commonly understand 'ownership' they generally feel no compulsion to listen to their owners, and at times even decidedly ignore them. understand that snakes are reptiles. as much as we would like to romanticize our ball pythons and corn snakes, reptiles as a rule of thumb are only capable of displaying very basic emotions- fear, aggression and a primitive form of pleasure when feeding or when being pet. but even this varies depending on the species and not all are capable of the whole register there is a hierarchy of intelligence in reptiles- turtles and tortoises, lizards and snakes, in that order. turtles do show preferences for human handlers over others, while that may not qualify as 'love' necessarily, it's close. lizards enjoy being handled and stroked, it pleases them, iguanas are known to exhibit different personalities and traits and in particular do form bonds with specific handlers. snakes, on the other hand do not generally exhibit any of these traits, and as emotionally attached as we are to our slithering friends, that doesn't change the facts. evolutionarily speaking, love and emotional attachment have not been needed by snakes as a species. it's something that may develop way down the line as they progress, but here and now, snakes simply are incapable of exhibiting emotions, and especially at the level that some of you seek to assert here. what snakes can display, in a similar fashion to other reptiles, is a preference for certain handlers, a sense of ease around them and thus a freedom to act naturally, without fear or aggresion. you are not a companion to your snake, snakes don't have friends. you're at best just a creature that they don't see as a potential threat. and if you want to call that 'love', i'm sorry, you're delusional.
I saw a video about the tortoise, they say it's the smartest reptile. I'm guessing it's because they live the longest and can learn the most. Apparently they tested the intelligence of the tortoise with a maze, pretty amazing!
No. They enjoy heat they're thermogenic.
i know my snake loves me
Well if we're being real here they actually don't but you can believe in whatever ya want.
i love when Snakes do the sssss
Me too!
