I fixed my sunroof noise recently too. Just find the noise came from the loosen screws that should hold the sunroof frame and the roof. They are in the middle of the trim around the sunroof. And I need to use a L shape T25 screw driver to tighten the screws on each corner. And the horrible noise gone. The best gift for the new year.

I like ur first idea more. I feel like if you glued them when they were together instead of separate like you did, it would work.
If ur bothered, try snapping the magnets together, then put a dab of glue on both ends and place them in the rail with a tweezer and shut the shade. Once its dry pull open ur shades and they should be perfectly aligned with correct polarity.

I liked the idea of the magnets at the end and the bumpers. Not liking how the strips looks in the middle. But to be honest, I haven’t had issues since I did the Velcro friction mod you showed us a while ago. I did it then and it still holds well. I never open my shade/sunroof so maybe it didn’t wear out?
ya i use mine, so the fabric wears out. ya the strip doesnt look pretty, but it worked 100% this morning. sunroof slider never budged.
I think Walmart has black magnetic tape in the crafts area. Idk how strong it is though. They have strips like you got but black and rolls. The back is adhesive tape might leave a residue if you remove it
Might be able to make the strip smaller since it's so strong. It'll be less noticeable if it's smaller than the handle part you grab on to open.
