    Have you:
    Tried to meditate but found it hard to settle down?
    Wanted to learn meditation but put it off because you've heard it's difficult?
    Already enjoyed meditation but wish you could go deeper?
    If you answered yes to any of these, then this online meditation course can help.
    For many of you, it might sound strange to hear that meditation should be effortless. If anything, you probably feel you’re not trying hard enough. But the opposite is actually true. Meditation works best when there’s no trying or effort. It’s about allowing the mind to relax.
    While trying harder may help in many day-to-day tasks, when it comes to meditation, the harder we try, the more tense our minds become. And this defeats the entire purpose of meditation. Once you stop all effort and striving, you’ll find the mind settles down naturally into a state of quiet.
    That’s where How To Meditate Without Even Trying comes in. This audio course will guide you through ways to manage disruptive thoughts and distractions. You’ll also discover how to release tension and let the mind fully relax. Getting the benefits of meditation doesn’t require great mental discipline or years of practice. It’s ideal for anyone. Whether you’re just getting started or have already tried it but want to go deeper, this course will show you how.
    In this 5-week audio program you’ll learn:
    Simple methods to settle your mind into a natural state of ease and contentment. These practices will help you stay present long after the lesson is over.
    Techniques that allow you to let go of physical and mental tension. This strain-relieving part of the program will also help you reduce stress outside of meditation.
    Advanced practices that allow your inner wisdom to guide you in meditation, and help you let go all resistance. These skills will help you reach deep states of meditation in only a few weeks.
    The course will take you from basic practices of being present to some of the advanced techniques that Peter has been teaching his students in recent years. This is the first time these new techniques are being made more widely available. They are very simple to apply, but profoundly effective.
    Course Outline:
    Lesson 1: Being Present - Accepting Thoughts
    Lesson 2: Letting Go - Releasing Tension
    Lesson 3: The Natural Mind - Returning to Ease
    Lesson 4: Guidance from Within - The Art of Inner Inquiry
    Lesson 5: NonDual Mindfullness - The Path of No Resistance
    When you sign up for the course, you will receive the lessons in five installments. You’ll receive the first lesson immediately upon enrolling. Subsequent lessons will be sent to you once a week. This gives you the opportunity to become familiar with each technique and to practice it before moving on to more advanced skills.
    After completing the course you will have access to archives of all the lessons.

    Nice. I lay down to mediate. If I go into that in between state I often have visions. My intent is to have obe’s. It’s all effortless this way.

    Peter you have just handed me your thesis -I have no need to go any further - in essence be aware of the intrusive thoughts as being just that and those thoughts will dissipate , but trying to swim upstream in a torrential down pore and trying to fight against the natural process is and of itself the PROBLEM - Except that and pay it no mind, (pun intended)
    THANK YOU. :-)

    I find I always get silly little itchy spots when I try to meditate. I try to ignore it but it's just too irritating.

    • @arpan81990
      @arpan81990 6 років тому +1

      Kristy Lyall in standard texts phantom itches are one of the standard ways your mind subverts any attempt to tame it. Others being feeling of ant crawling up your spine, toe swelling etc.
      You must either ignore it..or shift your focus to it if it's compelling, till it weakens/dissipates.

    very helpful! thank you :) 5:00and the brain goes into a much quieter state and not only is a quiet mind good for our bodies it also enables us to think more clearly and creatively and we can get more in touch with our feelings and intuitions those faint feelings on the edge or our consciousness that we don't normally notice we begin to become aware of them when the mind quiets down

    I don’t mind falling asleep. I lay down to meditate. In that state akin to sleep whilst meditating. I can have a lucid dream or go out of body.

    oh man , Tm stolen . this is Tm without the mantra.
    Most of what is being said here is a combination of TM and Advidya , specifically that coming from Papaji and or Gangaji.
    These two seemingly different approaches are actually highly compatible as they both provide the two essential ingredients for successful mediation and or the sate of effortlessness that is consciousness awake to itself or Being .
    Tm mostly focuses on the necessity of a system to transcend its own activity to avoid the practice being stolen by the mind and the advaita reality of Transmission . Transmission is that which occurs when a person that is fully identified with that which is awake to itself , simultaneously directs their mind and senses onto anther individual in close proximity ( not always necessary but mostly ). what occurs is a kind of movement of pure awareness to the same pure awareness that is the other individual . a sort of movement of that which doesn't move , from Here to Here .
    what is being presented here is a watered down version of both methods .
    Tm without the non meaning mantra and its ability to transcend its own activity is not TM and attempting effortless meditation without a direct experience of effortlessness will become just another mental activity ,no matter how well it is disguised in the form of " using one's awareness to create effortlessness ". that IS a mental instruction which results in directed thinking .

    "How To Meditate Without Even Trying" is a great title for the name of your meditation course. But I heard you say "Just try to..." near the end of your video.

      Kudos for the Video clip! Forgive me for butting in, I am interested in your initial thoughts. Have you thought about - Marnaavid Unexplainable Intervention (should be on google have a look)? It is an awesome exclusive product for learning how to hack your flow state without the hard work. Ive heard some super things about it and my work colleague after many years got astronomical results with it.

    Is this a form of transcendental meditation ? Or similar to it ?

    • @peter-russell
      @peter-russell  Рік тому

      It is not TM. It is my own form, derived from what I have learned from TM about effortlessness, mindfulness and my own experience over the years. So in the same general genre, but not the same.

    is this he same as spacing out? To truely defocus, not trying at all, no effort, to completely relax, is this the same as spacing out?

    • @peter-russell
      @peter-russell  7 років тому +4

      No. In meditation one remains attentive and alert to the present moment.
