The sense of self grounds us or anchors us in the "relative" world but it's a mirage as I can attest from personal experience. This, however, is a change in brain chemistry. Even Nisargadatta acknowledged as much with his statement, "brain chemicals come together and the I AM appears."

zetar87, Humai(Hu, me = me, mine, myself) is the EGO. NOT the PRIDE, Many people confuse EGO with PRIDE. In the East advaitai Vedanta and Sikh scriptures, this is made clear. EGO allows me to Separate from You. Both of us are made from the same cloth(GOD) we are separate ..because of our Humai ..I am ness. THe EGO. Our Scirptures say that is the God's WILL...and Illusion of separation from God. - like a Veil of forgetfulness.
