Surprise surprise Blender turns my computer into toast when rendering. Haha. Unreal Engine runs smooth for me. Your work and ideas work very well across many platforms.

For piles of coins, I did the same as you, but instead of duplicate piles, I made a bake and I transformed it in a seamless texture with photoshop.
Then, I put this texture on a displaced plane.
It wasn't bad, and less heavy.

quick question - why not use instances instead of duplicating the coins?
You can do that if you want. They didn't slow down my scene much so I didn't bother
When duplicating objects do you use alt+D for shift+D?
Shift+D
Alt + D usually. Unless I know that i need to make changes to that object later. In which case you can also just use the setting object > relations > make single user to make it as if you had just pressed shift + D

Omg the poly count my man. You trying to burn your PC down. After you get the pile of coins you want instance those my guy! No need to constantly keep multiplying the geometry in scene if your reusing the same geometry.
It didn't slow down my scene at all. You can instance if you want but I didn't bother here since it barely made a difference
@@maxhayart If you got like 4090 and 32gbs or memory sure. Any regular PC and that's going to send it to the fiery depths. The second I hit over 1-2mil verts in a scene I can't even use render view without a crash.
