it is great for a person to do what they love. but as a company, they need to do what their customers love. that is how you stay in business. i am a big nintendo fan. my parents bought me a NES brand new from babbages many years ago. they said before that they had learned from their mistakes and would not double up. but with this lineup, looks like that may not be true.

Odyssey really looks like a promising game, if not a true Galaxy 2 sequel.
HEHEHE I AM A SUPAHSTAR CLOD It's not really A Galaxy Sequel Sunshine and Galaxy gameplay are differnt mechanics. Odyssey is more like Mario 64/ Sunshine
It's a Sunshine sequel. People must accept that the Galaxy games were just as linear as Super Mario 3d Land/World, but less blocky.

That's why I said "if not a true Galaxy 2 sequel". I agree with the points made about how Galaxy 1/2 were more linear, and Odyssey does seem more like a 64/Sunshine sequel if anything else.

I love seeing Mr. Miyamoto. After all these years, you can still see the enthusiasm in his eyes. He still have a strong spirit to entertain kids of all around the world, and even adults who are still young at heart.

Miyamoto is too precious... I just can't get it out if my head that he won't be around anymore in some years... I know it's messed up but it will happen regardless, and I wish we, the public, could have him more. Miyamoto is a blessing alongside Aonuma and Iwata in terms of games.

I know the switch is more than a hand held but for the very first time Nintendo have a handheld that can handle truly console quality graphics,that's why I think the switch will be a massive success even in the long run and I'm sure it will get the games it deserves in time

silverdarlin That's not uncommon. I can understand conversational German and French, but can't really speak them. The same is very common for Spanish in parts of the US.

it's easy to understand a language, but learning the grammar rules to speak it makes speaking harder. with context you can easily understand it. but I still make some mistakes when speaking French, arabic, and japanese

So Miyamoto's inspiration for the original Zelda was the adventures he had in the woods near his house as a kid, Pikmin from time spent in his garden and for SM64 it was imagining his hamster roam around different rooms. What a fascinating mind.
I don't care what people think of Miyamoto about his recent projects, I love this guy and I would listen to him all day, everyday. This guy created the childhood of an entire generation. He also created the most popular character ever.
I'm so happy it's gonna be closer to 64 and Sunshine. I hate linear levels. That said, it'd be cool if brought out a Galaxy 3 for the Switch too, both games would be worthy additions and Odyssey is basically done already.
also, I know they have to represent Nintendo and do politician-talk, but my God did 6:15 sound so rehearsed it was embarrassing.

Eric Felds Eh. Galaxy wasn't. 64 and Sunshine weren't. 3D World wasn't. The NES didn't have a Mario launch title either. IIRC, only two Nintendo consoles have had Mario launch titles.
PGSawesome 64 actually was a launch title it was one of only 2 launch titles in the U.S for the 64

Buy a ps4 or x bone for 3rd party. Buy switch for Nintendo games. It's not rocket science. Stop hatin on a system because the graphics are not better. I want fun games. Nintendo brings that. This is someone that has all 3 systems and has switch paid off already. Y'all need to SWITCH your game up.
Why even get a console for 3rd party anyway? Just get a PC. Honestly I don't even bother with the third party games we get these days, I remember when I was a kid we got awesome third party games on the gamecube like Spider-man 2 and Sands of Time.

I don't understand why people are hating this game already. You people were asking for Mario games to be more unique and more like 64 or Galaxy, and here's your game! I get that it is a little jarring to see Mario next to real people, but there's obviously more to this game than New Donk City. Heck, even New Donk City looks like it might take some crazy turns, with that giant centipede robot and everything.

Please never make games for the casual gamer. You are a AAA studio. Casual gamers aren't even real gamers.. more hardcore games are enjoyed by all ages, especially younger demographics like all those kids who grew up with NES and SNES. Its not important to develop for a very young audience either since their obsession with gaming is absolute regardless and they will enjoy whatever game that has subject matter which appeals more to them, regardless of difficulty. Its only important that subject matter is appropriate for the approval of these kid's parents.
One could even go so far to say that casual gaming doesn't matter and nobody really needs or wants it. Casual game is synonymous with bad game and Nintendo has the capacity to make great games so its a waste to ever think casual for this studio - unless you're developing for a highly casual device like mobile.
This doesn't mean make needlessly difficult or serious games, but that game design shouldn't be sacrificed for kids or casuals who will play and enjoy whatever regardless.

The reason casual games exist is to be purely fun and accessible. I'll be honest when I say that Nintendo could find a way to blend casual and hardcore, such as like what they are doing with BotW, they are making a massive, large-scale game with lots of survival aspects, but making it accessible and easy to learn.
Casual gamers actually make up most of the market.

Honestly the camera in "Super Mario Sunshine" was rock solid.
I've waited 15 years for this. I loved the Galaxy games and 3D world, but I missed the full freedom of exploring fully open sandbox 3d environments. Super Mario 64 is still a classic even though some aspects show their age, it is still a blast to play. Sunshine was also awesome, while not everyone's cup of tea, like 64 it was fun to explore, experiment and play around in. Sure it had some flaws, eg the camera, blue coins and some dodgy missions (pachinko machine, looking at u) but it was an awesome game still.
15 years later and I'm really looking forward to how they pull off the well overdue sandbox Mario.
