it’s weird to see #psychology experimenting with #karma as a concept

Believing in karmaand destiny is problematic because it tells people who have been in situations that they didn't deserve to be in that somehow it was their fault and that they deserved it.
There are just some situations where bad things happen, and there's not a reason or anything you can do about it, and that's it, it sucks but it's true.

There are some holes in karma , mainly from a lack complex detail , but it's still solid.
The thing most people glaze over is "your actions expand who you are and will become."
What you're capable of , and what you want to will become effect your sense of vision.
If you can't see a future in a choice , that cuts off potential.

The concept of karma is not strictly one of positivity. A person that has allowed themselves to become filled with hatred and contempt for others ultimately gets it back from the world around them. If it was only a matter of simply positivity, the world itself would be becoming a better place. However, if one just observes, it's not heading in that general direction, instead, it's far from that. Negativity is growing stronger by the day. From our neighborhoods to entire nations, hostility and lawlessness are gaining a ever growing foothold across the entire world. Wars and the threat of more wars are a growing concern, as communities are becoming increasingly lawless. Peace and love everywhere are being choked out by the weeds of discord and animosity.

  • @reaper_of_the_crimson_knig8557

On Monday, May 8th the entire week was a freaking joyride. It began when I took an unscheduled flying lesson and kissed the pavement winning me a free ambulance ride... (actually, a few hours before that a customer's car at my internship had a poorly torqued tire that fell off on the freeway and my coworker broke a wheel stud torquing a different costumers tire) and as a bonus prize, I received a fractured and dislocated shoulder and an additional fracture on my nose.
I found out my insurance provider updated their systems and because of that, I needed to reset my auto pay that I haven’t been paying them since last February of this year.
I also got a free vacation from my job that I only just got three weeks ago, my towel rack fell off the wall, I fainted in the shower, and there was a surprise fire drill, (my shoulder is still fractured and I’m on the fifth floor) when I was at Panera their drink machine was leaking and I didn’t see the puddle until I looked down at my flip flops, and... come to think of it, did I mention that I actually smacked my head three times? once on the pavement, once at the hospital when I had the strong urge to vomit into the sink after being given a tetanus shot (my forehead found the cupboard before my eyes did), and then against the drywall when I fainted in the shower… there’s more, but I think by now you get the point. But what I think really took the cake was when I received notifications about the campus I’m staying at having a major fire. It was only one building, the ones next to it were evacuated for safety reasons. Thankfully the dorm building was not affected.
Anyway enough about me how’s your week going?

I do believe in Karma since I was 14. Now I’m 21 and I already experienced a lot of situations and human actions where i felt that karma was in action. Most of the time I learned that what people do in a negative way to hurt people, comes back around to them sooner or later. Actually I am in a situation right now where 2 human beings are hurting me a lot but I feel it at karma will soon start to show them what their consequences are. I’m mentally drained since a good month now and I noticed that it effects my concentration and my immune system.

@@AsElfIsKnoT-wc8od it can be disheartening to see individuals who have caused harm and suffering seemingly go unpunished. It is important to remember that justice is a complex and multifaceted concept, and it may not always be served in the ways we expect or desire. While karma offers a philosophical perspective on the consequences of actions, it is not a definitive or universally applicable principle.
In the face of injustice, it becomes crucial to advocate for fair and just systems, promote accountability, and work towards creating a more equitable society. Karma, as traditionally understood, may operate on a longer timescale that extends beyond an individual's current lifetime. The belief suggests that the consequences of one's actions may not be immediately apparent or may play out in subsequent lives.

As a delver into dark psychology, I find it interesting how all four of these points fit congruently with all sorts of amoral things.
I offer a reversal to just one of these laws - the law of humility.
Having the ability to accept different outcomes is indeed a very important thing. But sometimes, that can be complacency, and complacency kills. Sometimes not accepting how things are is one of the hugest motivators for personal growth, because in not accepting something, you will do everything you can to make it change.
This is something you have to judge and weigh both ways, because whether you are accepting something as it is, or not accepting something, it can be either bad or good on both sides.
The law of humility is a great rule to follow in the face of disasters, failures, mistakes, and rejections. Things you cannot do anything about, and things you cannot change, or should not try to change. My best example is when someone else rejects you, for any reason. If you care about them, you should accept their answer. In fact, trying as hard as you can to "change their mind" will only make them fight you harder.
But don't forget what things you can work on, improve, or change for the better - especially in regards to yourself. I for one am not completely happy who I am right now! I will not accept just being who I am now for the rest of my life - I have so many things to work on with myself! To stop would be to stagnate! But I will accept that that is something that takes a lifetime of continuous improvement. (Law of growth).
I think the main point of the law of humility, is to try not to get too frustrated when things aren't the way you want them to be. When you get frustrated with others, it has exactly that effect on them. Your attitude will rub off on them, and then back to you. (Law of cause and effect). If you accept others as they are, and of their choices, they will feel accepted. (Humility!)
If you are always completely frustrated with yourself, that mood will poison those around you too. While I am unhappy where I'm at now, and that is my motivation to grow, I don't hate myself! I'm a very long way ahead of where I started and very happy for that!

Self-control is created by fear. You want to be perfect by your own definition of perfection. This causes you to burnout and to be unfair to yourself. That's why you have to strive to be better, not the best. Change can be a slow process, so don't give up if something doesn't work the first time. You need self-discipline, not self-control. I feel at peace every day watching her stream, and yesterday after going the gym and getting the extra stop distance to increase the exercise, and then washing up, making a coffee and just everything I did... I just felt so comfortable doing it, even though I had friends I hadn't spoken to in a while proper who spurred me on, I'm glad they did as it felt great to push beyond the normal, and that positive energy is what's driving me to want to maximise my efforts next week with 6 days being busy, 5 days with gym and 1 day enjoying an art festival that's free... totally not an excuse to put in maximum effort as I'll be meeting her in July so that's why I wanna put in the effort to reward myself next Saturday

I WAS (past tense) the exact opposite; intentions and actions were good but the effect were the exact opposite. Doing the work but not getting paid in an equally positive karmic way is... exasperating to say the least.

Yeah, for a channel that likes to focus on childhood trauma, this video didn't sit right with me. These "laws" presuppose everyone was provided the same emotional tools growing up, some people weren't. I find a lot of these laws and the corresponding therapies developed from them kind of "victim-blaming." Sometimes you can do everything right and life still shits on you and the person who's treating people like shit and steals from others has a fantastic life. I am not a member of any of the religions that use karma to keep its adherents under control, therefore karma does not apply to me. Count me out on this nonsense.

    Hi there,
To give a bit more cultural context - karma is a tool used by the powerful in certain communities to keep the oppressed and the poor in their place. It is used to tell people - “you are suffering because of the sins you committed in a past life”. It is used to explain away systemic inequities and punishing societal structures. Do read up on caste.
I understand your video explains self-control, positive mindset, mindfulness etc and that is great. But please don’t conflate these concepts with Karma.

No 😂 karma is used as positive . But if a person did bad dids then he would feel not good hearing that its karma for him.

Once, a Muslim friend told me that he doesn’t believe in Karma because that is not what his religion believes in. So he continued with his unhealthy practices that could have been avoided if he had been a little more opened to the concept as a spiritual ideology, rather than a tool for spreading propaganda. He has been miserable since.
