Nice video as always. I use Tigernuts and fake corn/maze on a hair rig and catch carp and cats. For boilies the best ones I seen work was a Peach/Shrimp flavor. My buddy slayed them on that flavor …
Another great and informative video. Along with the Siracha nuts. My tuitty fruitty flavored ones work well also. This has been my first year using them. I also luv your "expensive" bait keepers. Another money saving tip.
I have used these in various flavors, banana, almond and anise. I am going to try the hot sauce next. I have had some success but feel that boiled feed corn works best for my area. The tiger nuts seem to stay on the hair longer than the feed corn so that is a plus. I appreciate your instructional videos and have learned a lot from them. Please keep them coming.
Hi Tom, Quick note: After watching this video I thought I'd infuse some normal canned sweet corn with sriacha. I just put some nice fresh and firm canned corn kernels in an old prescription drug jar with about a tablespoon of sriacha sauce. The prescription drug jar is totally leak proof. I've now caught a bunch of carp using the sriacha infused canned corn thanks to you!!
Another good flavoring/preservative option is getting shooters of 99 brand alcohol at the liquor store. They have tons of flavors. Last time I went they had probably 25 different flavors to choose from.
I would rather use well fermented tigers, just with sugar added after the boil, then let them soak again for, well longer the better. But good video, should help some people.
Tried chick peas this year. Cooked up like the tiger nuts. They looked good! But I never caught a carp on them. Hard to get away from something yellow that works.
Good stuff Tom. I see on UK sites that they drill them with a special little drill (that you buy) but I noticed that you didn't. I bought some flavored ones from ACS as a trial and had no trouble piercing them. (I think Brits just like to complicate things. I worked for British Aerospace, so I am not surprised. But, maybe stocked British carp are more sophisticated than wild American ones. ) So far no fish. Hope springs eternal. Next time, boiled Chufa seeds.
I know when you're making pack bait you use lake water and say not to use tap, when you're boiling tiger nuts/feed corn does it matter if you use tap since you're boiling it? Or should I use distilled water? Thanks for the content
@@OutsidewithTom thanks Tom I just wasn't sure if I made the tiger nuts right I guess I did but after watching your video I was getting runs but I just wasn't hooking up for some reason I think I got an issue with my hair rig tried tying my own probably didn't get them right.
Thanks Tom. I have always wondered if you woke up one morning and thought, I think I will try Chufa seeds in flavoring for my hook bait. Or did you pick this up from someone else?
@@OutsidewithTom leave em in a bucket with maize for about 48 hours then they're growlers the slime literally runs of it and carp go Nuts for it flavours not necessary but we all have faith in what we do

Another good how to video. So far just use the store brought ones but might give this a try. Thanks Tom.

Thanks I will definitely try this
Thanks for showing your ratios. I've been wondering.

Right on, thanks Jim!
Going to give this a shot this weekend. I'll let you know how it goes. (: thank you.
I just got a bag of these today. I'll be making these soon
👍

Great vid Tom do more bait vids Cheers Mate
Nice vid Tom I can't wait to try them out
A few of us have been making the Tiger Nuts from your video's for a while now, gotta say the almond flavor is my favorite
I like that one too. 👍

Have you tried this?
Thank you for a U.S. source for tiger nuts! No more paying ridiculous shipping fees at BCT!
Plus, catching fish with bait you made yourself is fun!
@@OutsidewithTom I agree. I just finished a couple batches of corn and anchovy/ belachan boilies. :)
Thanks

We drill them to add cork so there neutral boyancy. It goes back easier then into the mouth. Could just use a normal drill bit
Hey Tom
I have been watching your videos. I have corn that I buy for my deer can I use that to boil for my boiled corn for my carp an catfish ????
Yep.
Awesome video💪💪💪
Glad you liked it!
Thanks for sharing. Habe you tried soaking/cooking them in flavored water (eg almond or spicy) to improve the penetration of flavors?
I haven't. The alcohol based flavors would just evaporate.
Got it! Appreciate the quick response. Do you have a fiasbrain account? In in NJ under SomaFish
I looked at Fishbrain a few years ago, wasn't really for me. I didn't like how they encourage spot burning.
Thanks for the video Tom. What's you preference of Tiger nuts vs boilies? Do you get a better strike rate?
Tiger nuts. Purely for the reason that they stay on the hair better.
I know when you're making pack bait you use lake water and say not to use tap, when you're boiling tiger nuts/feed corn does it matter if you use tap since you're boiling it? Or should I use distilled water? Thanks for the content
The chlorine evaporates when you boil tap water.
Tom, do they float? I’m guessing not after soaking.
They sink.
After the process, i noticed I had some that were still small. Do you pick through them and keep the bigger ones or will the small ones still work?
I use them all.
Never used tiger nuts curious how effective they are versus boiled feet corn
Fish love both. Tiger nuts stay on the hair better than corn.
I see you use store flavorings. Will carp flavoring work just as well?
Not sure, I've never used commercial carp baits.
Best to keep the raw ones in your freezer; I had mine sealed but in a store room; eaten by some kind of weevil or beetle!
Interesting, must have been in the bag from the start, huh.
when you real your lines back in are the tiger nuts usually still on there and do you reuse them or do you change and get a new one?
I'll use the same ones all day. They only come off when I catch a fish.

Could be bullheads or other fish picking up the bait but not getting the hook in their mouth.

It's not an original idea. Tackle companies in Europe have been selling flavored tiger nuts for quite a while. This is just my home made version.

Thanks Tom. I’ll look for some Tiger Nuts now that I know you can get them here.
I wonder if the Hipster Carps like the Sriracha?
Only if it's paired with an avocado toast pack bait. 😀
They will NOT ship to Los Angeles area RAW unprocessed. Afraid they will sprout somewhere I suppose.
Who is they?
👍
👍👍👍
Particles have thier own flavour.
Why change them
Because the natural flavor is very mild. Adding bold flavor is intended to attract attention.
This is odd, look on Amazon and they said that they can not ship to my location, must be some dumb Calif. law.
More likely some dumb thing with Amazon. I buy mine on ebay, link in description.
Same with Georgia
