Loved what you had to say about good fishermen knowing how to find the fish and put their bait in front of them! Being new to carp fishing, that's the type of advice that's worth hearing and following!!! Thanks again. Always a great show - Joe
Spent tons of time and $$ in search of the 'super bait' but finally just narrowed it down to a couple consistent catching baits that I could tweek flavors on. Much less stress 😁😁
I've lost enough fish right at the net to learn the importance of keeping my rod up as the fish gets closer. It helps keep tension on the line so it can't spit the hook.
I just discovered your channel. I really like your down to earth, no hype, conversational style. Looking forward to watching all your videos I started carp fishing a little local pond about two years. When the oxygen level drops this summer, I'm going to target carp in the Schuylkill River this year.
@17:00 there are stocked carp lakes all through the Carolinas but they are tournament lakes where 20+ fisherman draw spots and compete. Come out us a visit sometime!
You mean pay lakes? Those aren't stocked, man. They harvest those trophy fish out of wild waters and put them in mud holes to be caught over and over until they die. Sorry, that's not fishing.
As in most thing I go overboard and consume all the information I can. I've watched 100s of carp fishing carp fishing videos and sm thankful I don't have to pay 25 pounds every time I go fishing. I like your videos.
@@OutsidewithTom Thanks! I went out today on a big Canadian lake and was finding either thick weeds or sand. 4 hour day session and no bites. I typically fish smaller lakes/ponds with good luck. Would be great if you made a video showing how you find your spots on new bodies of water(using google satellites maps etc). Thanks!
@@kktpp In my experience, the amount of good info you can learn from satellite images is very limited. Nothing beats time on the water in person. Thanks for watching!
@@OutsidewithTom thanks. Yes for sure I often overlap google satellite and a lake contour map to find what I think is a good spot, but in person scouting around often leads me to try another spot. Tight lines!
Nice video! Nice narration and variety of shots (1st person, wide, net, etc)! Great audio quality--crisp and clean! I agree that location is the most important factor in consistently catching carp!
Love all your videos. I've watched them all. You are right. When I first got into this I got really deep into bait. Spent a lot of money on different ingredients to improve my bait. I learned really quick that's its all about finding them and putting whatever bait u have in front of them.
I was so intrigued by this video. I have been fishing for about 40 years for bass, catfish and carp. I have learned everything that you have said in this video. Nobody has ever put into words like you did. So true what you said. Two 👍thumbs 👍 up
That's funny you brought up the comment about catfish and carp.I started carp fishing about 6 months ago, my first two catches were channel catfish, I have learned a lot from you. Thank You
Carp loves tiger nuts and corn, there is smth that we use to catch wild carp, it's called Polenta. just add some canary food seeds to polenta mix and you are good to go.
When you see carp with super vibrant/ slightly pink tails they are feeding on freshwater shrimp and their color makes it to the carps tail. I think it’s cool
To me carp fishing in Europe is like hog fishing in Texas. Throw out the feed them open fire. I live in a state where you can't chum. Do just learning to fish the old fashion way. Thanks for your videos.
I like the way you tell people that this is just your opinion but I tell you people will listen to you because you live by your opinion when you give it, Thank you enjoying the videos good stuff.
If where you can fish from is very limited on the water, try using a inflatable boat or a kayak to dump a few 5 gallon buckets of cooked feed corn or cattle cubes a day or two before fishing, this will draw them in. You would be shocked how quick a school of big carp can clear out 50lb of corn. Also if trying to pick out the big fish in a pack of small ones try big hookbait and a long hair. Two tigernuts on a hair has done wonders for me.
Corn, Bread & Worms all catch Carp. Boilies are a convienient bait & target and do target larger fish. I firmly bellieve that homemade baits can perform just as well as commercial baits.
Carp will eat anything mate I've caught them on small deadbaits intended for pike. I'll only use boilies if there are loads of nuisance species. Other wise it's maize
good fishing budd and ur right location is priorty first find the fish finds the fun action i love to find big oh buffalos here in texas witch i love to fish for them amd carp most of the time thanks for ur video clues and action time fishing
I see you have one of those cast King baitrunners, I just recently ordered one myself. One of your other videos sold me on the reel because of how loud the bait clicker is. I have a question though, as far as the baitrunner drag goes is it smooth on yours or does it kind of drag or catch every half revolution when you pull line out with the bait runner on? Mine kind of grabs a little it's not a smooth pull like my okumas. I'm going to be contacting cast king see if that's how they're made or if it's a common issue with them. I have the 4,000 model
Honestly, I’ve heard several people say the Kastking reels have inconsistent quality and may not last as long as better brands like Daiwa or Shimano. I have also heard the Okuma Avenger baitrunner lasts longer than the kastking, for what its worth.
I have to say I copied your baiting methods for a substantial amount of time, with great success. I carried cans of various canned fruit, several spices, bread crumb, oats and corn kernaled and creamed. So, I say thank you for all the carp Ive caught using your packbait style. Unfortunately, I have to disagree on your theories on there not being one packbait better than another. There is a packbait that will outperform what you currently use hands down, sorry. Your correct on having to understand the habbits of carp but some packbaits will definitely outperform others drastically. Finally the comment of not being able to find litature about carp fishing in the USA. My I recommend American Carp Society, they have extensive information and their goal is to spread information on carp angling in the USA. Thanks again for all you do, I follow your channel and enjoy it immensely. If we ever cross paths I will give you the recipe for that amazing pack bait...lol!
Enjoyed the video! Do you ever catch any Buffalo? They like the same kinds of bait used for carp. They're also very hard fighters like Mr. Carp. I catch a lot of Buffalo & Carp whenever I fish for Catfish down here in Texas.
I've actually never caught a Buffalo, of either variety. They're kind of rare where I live. I've seen how huge the Buffs can get down in Texas, would love to fish for them someday. Thanks for watching!
@@OutsidewithTom You live in Iowa? Right? The Midwest is full of Buffalo. I bet if you do a little research you can find a lake or river with BIG Buffs. Time on the water will make you a better fisherman
It comes down to how anti tangle your rigs are fish location and as you say time
No doubt about it!
As long as I put anise on my bait I don't think it really matters much what I use for bait. I mostly just use plain corn on a circle hook

When you see carp with super vibrant/ slightly pink tails they are feeding on freshwater shrimp and their color makes it to the carps tail. I think it’s cool
If only there were fresh water shrimp in the lake....
the orange color of the tail comes from eating bloodworm not shrimp
