- It was a beautiful 17C with Ivan on his 690, Riley on his 701 , Jason on the little 500EXC and Fred on the loud CRF250L. We headed out to check a trail along Highway 50. Some improvements had been made since we were last there. Lots of rocks. One really steep uphill. We kept exploring which of course resulted in a lot of dead ends. Everyone's bike ended up on it's side a few times except. It was a great day but then life delivered a kick to the groin right at the end.

The ending is very sad, sorry for your loss...
Thanks my friend.
I love the "Folly" music at the start of the videos. I hear it in my head every time I go out on a trip.
It is catchy. Sums up the talent evel of this crew pretty well.
i really appreciate the new style with the mics and senna for the talking and more people taking videos. Thanks a lot!
Will get better as I finally got my mic sorted out as well.
Very sorry for your loss. I bought a Triumph Tiger in 2016 largely because of the adventures you've had with your friends and shared with the rest of us. Thanks for sharing and for the adventures I'd had on my Tiger.
Thanks Blake. Glad to hear you are out there having fun. I was just talking to a co-worker and recommended he look at the Tiger.
Riley, I want to say sorry for the loss of your friend Stephan. It seems to me he had great passion for the planes. We all have things that are our passion. I think that is the meaning of life, passions. Thank you for sharing one of yours and Stephan's too!
Blair, aka 8382 on ADV
Thanks Blair. Steph was a very special man and the little clip certainly didn't do him justice. He was also a fantastic musician although bagpipes aren't to everyone's taste! I met hi in the army and like the military riding has been an activity that has connected me to very interesting and passionate people.
Riley - Thanks for continuing to document your adventures. I always like getting these gifts during the winter and especially during the COVID year. Appreciate you introducing us to Stephan. Great send off. My sympathies.
He was a great friend. As usual we take for granted a lot in this life. Miss him.
Riley, Discovered your APMC six, seven years ago and always enjoy your videos. Sorry to hear of your loss. Nice tribute.
Thanks Scot.
Saddened for your loss. He seemed a great guy. U all take good care of yourselves. All The way from Malta Europe.
Thanks Dave. He was a hell of a guy.
Good to have friends on these rides that take care of each other. Quote of the ride “We could have just taken the bridge”🙂. Sad news about your friend - life is short.
Thanks Paul. Will be 56 this spring so definitely feeling like time is getting more precious.
Sorry to hear about Stephan passing away. May he rest now. Thank you very much for sharing.
Thanks man. Miss him.
Lots of character building moments for all the group in this one Riley. The douche rope is now part of my riding equipment! So sad to know about the loss of your friend and good to see a tribute and hear your encouragement to make the most of our opportunities. Thanks
for sharing.
Thanks for the kind words.
Important to remember the good times.
Thanks for sharing yet again, a fine video. Nice tribute to your friend, sorry for your loss.
Thank you.
Thanks; lots of education there, about off-road playing; sad ending; yep, best to enjoy our health while we can.
Nice that those rocks broke your fall, not your bones... Thanks for sharing.
Back protector and backpack with a built in back protector helps.
My condolences for Stephane and his family. You are completely richt, live now not tomorrow. Thanks for another fine film. I enjoyed it and it gives me and three friends the lust off keep riding in the Belgian mud.
Thanks Joris. I am very motivated to get out there this season and make the most of it.
Great video as always, sorry for your loss tho. Rest in peace Stephan.
Thanks. All the kind words coming in from people has been really nice.
Another great video!
Riley, so sorry to hear about your friend.
Thanks Alan.
I love the Awesome Players Videos, it just gives me a Feel of Riding my Bike with my Friends, thanks a lot for that! Especially during this Pandemic and Winter... Greetings from Germany 😊
Btw I am really sorry for your Friend, I just saw the Ending :(
Thanks Speelbird, I appreciate it.
Great video guys! Lots of fun. Pretty amazing how you are all fluently bilingual, you make it look so easy switching between French and English.
I don't really notice it "live" but when watching the video I realize that we are switching back and forth.
Great video, sad ending. Wish you all the best, keep riding !
Sorry for your loss....enjoyed the ride🙏
Much appreciated
Another great ride with nice teamwork.
Magnificent mower idea! We're sorry to hear of the loss of your friend. You never know when your time will be up. Great advice to go after what you want to do, time is not on our side.
Thanks 👍. Steph and I had been friends for over 30 years. Was a real shock.
Sorry for your loss Riley. I have lost a few friends and acquaintances in their 50s and it just seems so unfair. Like you said, get out there and do the things you want to do because who knows how long you've got.
Thanks Andrew. A bit depressing that this seems like the start of a new phase in my life. Still looking forward to the season, maybe even more than usual.
Sorry for your loss Riley, it was a fitting tribute at the end of the video.
Thanks. Appreciate it. Was just talking about him today. He always played the bagpipes on St Pats. Miss him.
Great video, thanks for sharing! Nice tribute to your friend, condolences to his friends and family!
Thanks you.
I forgot to mention once again awesome video very entertaining and of course amusing.
I am very sorry for your loss.
If there's things you want to do get out and do them I agree 100%.
Thanks Timothy.
Great to see you guys getting after it! Sorry for your loss Riley. Seems like he was another Awesome Player.
Steph and I had a lot of Awesome Players style moments over the 30+ years I knew him. Same sense of humour and fun.
Condolences brother and to Stephane’s family and friends.
Thank you brother.
Love your vids, keep them coming, great Vid..
Thanks, will do!
Another great video, always look forward to your vids. Was sorry to hear about your friend Stephan. He was so young. Looked like the kind of guy anyone would like for a friend and neighbor. My sympathies to his wife and family, to you and his friends and to Stephan who was taken too soon.
Thanks Dan. Steph was a great friend.
Great clip at the end remembering your friend. That was awesome.
Can’t believe it has almost been a year. Miss him.
Another Awesome ADV then someone started cutting onions at the end. Sorry for your loss my internet friend. Very nice tribute! Stay strong. Cheers from Beaver Valley.
Thanks John. I was undecided as to the ending but it was how the day finished so leaving it out felt odd.
@@AwesomePlayers It definitely belongs there.
Awesome ride guys! Looks so mutch fun!
It was!
Mashallah nice video sharing full watch my dear
I'm sorry to hear about your friend Riley, whenever I have problems riding my bike helps me reflect on things.
I love the new vid
ride safe.
Very true. Riding and the people I ride with have been key to keeping me sane over the years.
Good riding vid, nice tribute to your pal r/c is awesome.
Thanks Douglas. I'm 3D printing a 3 foot long PT boat now. Always wanted one.
Je viens tout juste de découvrir ta chaine et j'adore !
Un vrai plaisir à regarder :)
Merci mon ami.
Just the kind of riding that I love, I’ve got a CF 230 and just love the little bike. It works really good in the mountains on the left coast of the USA , and at 76 I need something that I reach the ground on . There are times I would like just a little more horsepower, but it would probably just get me in trouble. 😉 . Ride on and enjoy life !
Couldn't agree more!
Riley I have a 2020 690.
I must say you guys have a lot of stones..
safety and numbers when it comes to these gnarly trails.
True. I am a lot braver in a group.
When you have heavy bikes it's nice to have some help when you need it
Fun vid. Nice smelly ride LoL just bought me some more stickers just got myself a T700 and need some art. Always fun watching your adventures. Sorry to hear about your friend.
Thanks. Marc who rides with us a lot just got a T7 at the end of last season and loves it. I rode it for a bit on a familiar dirt road and it felt so planted. Great machine.
Sorry about your friend Riley
You have it right, life is short, we must enjoy it.
Watching this video remind me to get back training if I want to ride this summer.
It was a real wake up when he passed. Really caught me off guard. Looking forward to the season.
Great video. Sorry for your loss. 🙏🏽💙
Thanks Luke. Appreciate it.
"Unlike you folks in the states that have to stay 6 feet away, we only have to stay 2 meters away...."😅😂
That looked like a lot of work, but loads of fun too! You guys have some great places to ride.
I know it's been awhile since this was recorded, but I'm really sorry to hear about Stephan. Any time you lose some close, it's a tough thing to accept in so many ways. Having something like that happen kind of reminds of our own mortality.... Great tribute to him! Stay well!
Thanks for the nice words. I guess we get to an age where this will be a more common occurrence. Definitely psyched this year to take advantage of the areas we have here. Last year we did some fantastic off-grid camping on the bikes later in the season and that is really what I want to do this summer.
@@AwesomePlayers motocamping is one of my favorite things to do!! I keep seeing classmates passing away, scary.....
Awesome, as always! :)
Please never stop doing these videos.
Stay immature! And safe :)
Edit: What a tragic ending! Just saw it after posting my comment. I am feeling really sorry for you and his loved ones. It seems he was a really nice guy and friend!
Thanks Torben. Still gets me misty eyed just thinking about it.
Thanks for the vid, Riley. Sorry for the loss of your friend.
Thanks Greg.
Great ride lads, los of thrills and spills. Sorry to hear about your friend. Makes you think doesn’t it. ATB Jason.
Thanks Jason.
Well said at the end. It's really sad about about Steph. I understand he was a good piper too.
He was. He always played the Star Wars theme for my kids to get them laughing.
sad to hear about your friend ...look like a great bunch of friends, riding, helping each out no matter what the machines and skill levels: just the way it should be: leave the ego's home ;-)
Thanks Dirk.
I get excited just hearing the intro music 😀
I keep meaning to update the intro but I think I will always keep that music.
@@AwesomePlayers nooooo its your signature tune.
Here's a question Riley I've been wondering. Can you list the full member Players in order of Seniority ie from founder member to newest member?
@@9121646 I am one of the originals! Chris, Henrik, Joe and I in 2010. Jason in 2011, SuperDave in 2014, Ivan and JP in 2015, Marc in 2017 and Fred in 2020.
Plus a lot of folks that have come on a ride or two.
@@AwesomePlayers ahahaha awesome. That was quick! Be great to see a reunion and everyone out. Maybe post COVID lol
Dang Riley - words to remember when crossing stinky mud pits. When in doubt - Gas It! 👍
Yup. When in doubt, gas it out! Just wasn't feeling it that day.
Amen to that !
Marc we waited and waited but you never showed up. OK we waited 5 minutes.
Please post! Your videos are needed for winter entertainment!
A couple of videos coming out this week.
Sorry for your loss
Thank you Fredrik.
Guys i missed your videos, but only now i looked at the comments and read about Stephan, very sad… RIP
Thank you.
Hi good Rocky trails 🤙
No shortage of rocks for sure. Going slow makes it a lot worse but too much speed and a fall is painful.
Thanks for sharing. What size sprockets do you like on the 701?
I think Riley has something crazy like 15/50, I have a 15/48 ratio (equivalent to 14/45) for our usual rides makes it easier in the technical stuff and not too bad on the highway. I go back to stock ratio of 15/45 for traveling.
I should check... I can't remember. Still cruises down the highway at 120km/hr no problem.
Love your videos! Are you running the Gopro's on constant power or just carrying alot of batteries?
There's alot of stopping to catch our breath, so changing GoPro battery is just another excuse to stop and get some rest.
Sadly in the Hero 8 if you shoot 4k a battery lasts 45 minutes. Will be looking at external power again this season.
I like the mower, an ideas man. Shame about your friend, condolences .
Thanks Tex.
That 690 is sweet.
She is a beauty.
if you have some water spot like this. leand way back and full throttle. you where way to caucios. of course have a look first before crossing is good. but you have to apply full throttle.
Next time!
Been thinking about getting ktm. 500 or 690 so close in horse power but the light weight of the 500 really appeals to me, short runs mainly but up 2000 miles once in awhile, your options would be appreciated
The 500 is still considered an enduro bike and has short maintenance intervals compared to the 690/701. The 690/701 is more swiss army knife and better at more long distance travels, more comfortable (except for mine) but heavier.
Like Ivan said the 500 is a small bike. Not a lot room if you want to carry luggage. the 701/690 can make good travel bikes.
What kind of com system are you guys using? Seems to work a treat.
Sena 30K.
@@AwesomePlayers Have you used any other systems before? That one seemed to be pretty good.
@@3rdaxis649 Only Sena. The problem is once you buy into a system it is hard to get everyone to switch at the same time.
hey, how tall are you? i think the way for you to ease with the 701 again is to lower it. the trouble is that this bike does not like to be ridden slowly. it is surely one of the most aggessive bikes I have every ridden. good luck and i do like your videos from canada rolling in! Love life as long it lasts.
Thanks for the tips!
Just found your video. I almost bit the big one in August. Also a heart attack Getting a new bike soon. Probably a CRF250L but wonder about its weight. Your bikes seem to be too heavy for those trails. Also have any of you guys rehearsed your bikes? I currently have an 83 XR200R and dropped a tooth on the front sprocket because I'm 195lb and want to crawl at slower speeds. Bike climbs like a goat and does good on trails but probably not enough speed for road in my area. Have fun😊
From what I've heard, the new CRF300L or the new KLX300 are a bit lighter and couple of more HP and torque. Might be a good option to look at.
@@FredCharlebois yep looking at it. I like the Kawasaki too except that the seat feel like it's made of 2x4 wood. :)
Ivan and I are geared down a bit. Problem is it is always a compromise. You want lots of power, need the big CCs. Want light weight like a 350EXC or 500EXC and it isn't much of a long distance machine. We do a lot of miles you don't see in the videos because it is boring to watch.
Forgot to say that I am glad you are feeling better. Cheers.
I was thinking of something they could make that would be cool, a level inside the gopro that projects 2 small lines on the side of the screen to show how steep the climbs and descents are
You can use the GPS and the GoPro software to get some sort of display. Speed and direction I think.
@@AwesomePlayers i was saying that cause some of the shots, i imagine are much steeper than they look on video, looking at the tires spinning, rocks and trees you really have to picture it to get an idea
@@fausimo For sure . The GoPro makes everything look so flat. I get home after a ride and look at the footage and it is always a bit of a let down.
My condoleances Riley. Live life like your last hour, because nobody knows what time it is.
Thanks Chris.
I really like that little Honda. Is the tower DIY?
Nope I've brought the bike second hand with the kit installed, you can find more details on crf250lrally.com/index.html
@@FredCharlebois Thank you!
And as Fred knows you can get replacement parts if something happens....
If something happens... hypothetically
@@FredCharlebois Strictly hypothetical of course.
Please I need some information about honda crf screen setup, thanks
That was a rally kit you can find here. crf250lrally.com/product.html#!/CRF250L-Rally-Adventure-kit/p/75424710/category=21604073
Would this fit a 2020 crf250l non-rally model?
@@nowyouareoneofus9684 Site says up to 2016. I would drop them an email.
I bet you guys thought that 250 would be light:} Sorry about your loss Riley. Way too young.
It's not the lightest but I can assure you that it's one little tough motorcycle. It's been thru alot last season and still going strong.
@@FredCharlebois Fred,I'm an owner of a 2017 CRF250 Rally ,and I love it. They are great bikes.
Hey Bill. Steph was just two years out from his pension. It was a shocker.
Miss you guys. I hope everyone's okay.
Hi Greg. All is well. Everyone is safe and sound. Lots of great riding and I have recorded a ton, gigs and gigs of great footage. Just been crazy busy. Will start editing soon.

6ft and 2m are the same. Or am I missing something lol
No sir, your math is right on the money. It was my little metric joke.

2. Open the video
3. Like the video
