Maintenance Party '23. Rust, lube and fire!

- Опубліковано 24 бер 2023
- It is a spring tradition that the Awesome Players finally get off our Costco-fed arses and start doing all the maintenance we had planned to do over the winter. Ivan was once again bebe host. We start off with some boosted coffee. Fred shows up with his excellent homemade bread, still hot from the oven. To make it better he had the first batch of his Father's maple butter from their own sugar shack. The plan was to do a few repairs to some equipment and then remove and service the complete swingarm and linkages on the 701. Jason also wanted to install a mousse in his KTM500 wheel using Riley's Rabaconda tire changer. The jobs got done with lots of rust, hammering, and even some flames. A non-functional Sena 30 was also sacrificed to the gods of hydraulic pressure. As always you can join us on Facebook- / awesomeplayers or at awesomeplayers.com/.

Good to see you all. Hope this is the season that you get back into the habit of making loooong movies of your excursions, and lots of them! :)
I hope so as well. Life seems to have calmed down a bit recently.
we missing you guys in a winter blue depression, spring cant get here fast enough
New video out today.... finally.
Yeah, the Boys are back.🤗
regards from Switzerland
Cheers. Hope your snow is gone soon.
That was a fun morning with my "enhanced" coffee... so I could feel like I was there.
Nice to hear from you. Cheers.
Good job on the maintenance. That maple whiskey is absolutely delicious! Patiently waiting for the snow to melt, maintenance all done on our side. Hope it's a great season.
I'm more excited some years, and this year is one of those. Didn't get to do much riding last year so I have a lot of pent-up riding desire. We spent another day on the 701 and it is almost done. Cheers, and enjoy the ride.
Every time you release a Maintenance Party-video, I get reminded of what I yet didn't do. 😅
We did the forks and steering bearings yesterday and I just realized I have never done the coolant...
Wow, I feel bad about having a 2 year-exchange period for that stuff, because I regulary forget, if the blue-green or the pink stuff belongs in there.
How old is your coolant now? School-age?
@@kollosytravel5796 We are so proud of little Coolant. He is going into grade 2 this year!
Wow you guys still alive?????? 😂 😂
Still kicking. Sadly our video editor is a lazy turd.
Last October I was less than 200km, as the crow flies, from your neighborhood.
Good to see the Players mixing tools and alcohol again.
Drop us line next time and we will meet you halfway.
Welcome back! (finally!!) Good to see you!
Thanks, man. Cheers.
Nice to see you again :)
Hey, thanks!
really awesome to see you guys together having a blast!
It makes the depressing state of my motorcycle easier to take.
Mmmm... Fred's bread & maple butter with Tim's & high octane flavour enhancers - now there's a maintenance party worth waiting for! It's been a long winter indeed - great to see the gang back wrenching to welcome in the riding season. Looking forward to viewing continued adventures of all the A.P. team ahead. Thanks for the entertainment and inspiration. -Steve-
Nice to have you with us virtually Steve. Should be a great season. Still, so much snow in the woods it will be a while. We need some high temperatures and a lot of rain.
Nice to see you here again🎉😂🇳🇴☕
Thanks! 😃
Carbs, coffee and alcohol. Breakfast of champions.😵💫
And I have the new larger riding pants to prove it.
they are alive woooooooooooooo🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳
A little more grey and a few extra pounds but alive!
This reminded me that i need to check if the barn is still there... The one where i switched of the Kawa the last time. Happy new season!
It is probably still there, it just might be flat.
Welcome back! Was getting worried.
Now I'll have to renew my passport.
No need to worry we were just hibernating. I think not being able to ride for a good part of the year makes it sweeter when we can.
Spring is in the Canadian air when the Awesome Players crawl out from under the snow banks. Good to see!
Also the smell of dog crap.
👋 Good to see you guys!!!
Nice to see you Aadam. Cheers.
You guys have to much fun, looking forward to spring.
We get a little giddy when we get the first whiff of spring.
nice to see things are looking normal 😂😂
That semi-organized chaos does feel perfectly normal. Like mechanical comfort food.
Happy season start guys! I´m going to do my maintenance next week! My 690 RR is getting a new Ddekor after 9 years.
btw... haven´t done my swingarm since 2014 :D
Cheers Luz!
Hi Luz. Great to hear from you. What is a Ddekor?
cool video! Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching!
Finally! ❤ A sign of life! 🍀
There is a faint pulse.
Great Success 👍
Thanks Blair.
Good to see you all getting ready for a new season.
Will be trying to finish off the 701 tomorrow.
It was good to see you guys again!
Nice to be back.
Hey, I thought you were going to tell us about Chris's new ride? Enjoy your videos.
Chris's mystery bike reveal will be shocking and its own video I would think.
Very nice! Thought the hp2 was never going to be sold😮
You and me both! Chris will reveal the mystery bike this summer... and it is a shocker.
Miss you guys from the East. Looking great boys
Thanks bud.
Very entertaining 👍😅
Glad you enjoyed it. We did a second day's work and the 701 is almost ready. Cheers.
Scary fork axle. I greased the rear fork pivot on my Oilhead at 100k km. The HP-2 might have corrosion at the bolt though.
It was one of the things I had been meaning to do for a few years. Every year it always seems like a mad rush to get the bike ready for the first event and then once the season is rolling it gets put off a year. Last year it started squeaking so there was no way to ignore it.
Good job. You guys have a lot of fun.
Your counter shaft sprocket looked about done some time ago! Maybe it was the angle from my viewing end.
Anyways cheers.
TT
Chain is coming up on the end of life for sure. I just decided to run out a bit more. I would tend to change them early but I've rolled a few thousand since this one started showing signs and figure I can at least do a few more. Getting frugal in my old age I guess.
Love your stuff guys, the humour between you all is great. Awesome players and awesome friends 👍
Glad you enjoy it! Sometimes I forget how lucky I am.
Good to see you guys! Spring is coming to Quebec - sooner pr later at least. Cheers, Allan
Seems later right now. Last few years we had early springs, not going to happen in 2023.
“Say a com…..”
A very productive day! But -5! Eeek
Balmy! When are you going to come down for the Classique?
@@AwesomePlayers One day riley! One day.
Where have you been seems ages I had nearly given up looking
Hi Merv. Been out riding! Trying to get some videos out. Have a few half done.
Awesome video guys, very funny, you guys work well together. 😊
Glad you enjoyed it. Between us we have just enough knowledge and talent to get it done.
Great to see you back and ready to ride! In Northern Michigan I have to wait until the new 10 inches of white goes away so I can get to the shed to get the GS out and put the old battery back in and hope it works
We still have a ton of snow on the ground in town and a little farther north where we ride there won't be bare ground for a long time.
Where’s the MIGHTY DR?
Mighty DRs don't need maintenance! Or is it Mighty DRs don't get maintenance? Probably get more than my poor 701.
No valve adjustment in 7 years?
Oil changes and valve adjustments always. A few sets of brake pads and some wheel bearings. We are not total animals!
who brought the most important item. the biscuits😢
Biscuits? Homemade bread and maple butter!
What bike is Chris changing the HP-2 for?
All will be revealed in the fullness of time.
And oh, put an end to this laziness. We demand more content (please). ;-)
Trying!
Is that a foam innertube? Tell me more please.
It is called a mousse. No flats ever but can’t be used on the highway or they melt.
They are used for Hard Enduro and rally. They are not road legal and don't have a very long lifespan if they overheat, the reason they are not good for highspeed on the road.
First 😂🎉
Welcome to the party.
