I knew, Col. Brandon and Marianne were going to end up together! The way, he was watching her play the pianoforte. While, they were visiting Sir John and his mother-in-law. After he found her in the rain and brought her back to the Palmer Estate. She looked at him in a new light and fell in love with him! Alan and Kate made a great on-screen couple! RIP: Alan Rickman.
Even is colonel Brandon is such and gentlemen and pretty handsome...i can’t see him with Marianne. She is like a teenager seeking for romantic love and he deserve a woman who will appreciate his maturity. I always think Eleonore and him will be a better fit.
I know, the romance doesn't work as well for today's audience as it did for Jane Austen's, but I do think Kate Winslet plays Marianne's maturation well, and shows at the end that she is starting to appreciate him. And I think that Alan Rickman portrays Col Brandon as caring and intense, but also intense in his joy, and able to show that. I think they end up being good for each other.
