The speaker I bought didn’t fit the part that attaches into the panel BUT managed to at least actually take off the door using this video AND connected my speaker so honestly I’m feeling good. Also I did manage to find a way to have it in place! Great video!
@@ProvoBeastAudio Again, the purpose of video is to actually see it done. It is far less effective to tell how to remove a panel, and then remove it off camera. I want to see exactly where your tool and your fingers are at the moment when the panel pops out. If the job itself takes 2 hands, then filming it takes a camera-man, tripod, or head strap to hold the camera. Also, especially since one of my old speakers doesn't work at all, I am willing to cut that one out of its mount; but I would rather drill mounting holes in the sheet metal door than cut the factory door panel. I think I would also rather let it bulge out just a little than cut it as well. since I don't have a separate tweeter, I don't have to cut anything for that. Real antique car restorers hate cut in accessories that damage original parts.
You will need to drill holes in the old speaker housing. Once those holes are cut out, then put it on the door to mark the spots you need to drill into your door. By ripping the factory speaker apart, you will lose the little clip that holds the speaker in place
+Provo Beast Audio Installation the ones in my car (honda civic 2003 passenger side) are light blue and green and black, it's just that I kept getting a miswiring message on my stereo screen. but now I have another problem, my passenger window won't work at all, I wonder if it has anything to do with one of the wires from the stereo/speaker
Your Window regulator is completely independent of your stereo system. Most likely you have a loose harness when you put the door panel back on. To best discover what is + and what is -, hook the old speaker up to a battery and if it pops outwards, you know you have the polarity right, if it pops inwards, switch the polarity. That will show you how it was hooked up before, allowing you to copy that for your new speakers.
Don't waste your time on this video, the difficult part is removing the speaker and he just says that there are clips, but does not describe how to get the clip out without breaking the speaker housing.
Provo Beast Audio Installation lol my bad the pic of the guy on the videos looks exact like a guy I worked with at Clearlink or Discover. One of the two companies haha
Left Front Speaker Positive Wire (+): Blue/Green Left Front Speaker Negative Wire (-): Gray/Black Right Front Speaker Positive Wire (+): Red/Green Right Front Speaker Negative Wire (-): Brown/Black
Front left negative is grey/red Front left positive is green/yellow Front right negative is green/black Front right positive is light blue This is for 2004 Honda Civic. Not sure where they got those other colours from
Will the speakers you used fit a 1998 Honda prelude SH? I'm curious because I literally had those speakers in my shopping cart on Amazon before watching this video so if you could help me that would be great!
+Provo Beast Audio Installation thank you! And sorry I have another question. In my car the rear speakers are on the rear deck and I was wondering if those harnesses would work for the back as it would in the front?
The tweeters connect into the midrage woofers in the doors. @ 6:11 shows the tweeter wire connected to the midrage woofer, @ 6:17 shows the input also connected to the midrage from the radio. The crossover was connected attached @ 5:31 which connects directly to the tweeter.
@@ProvoBeastAudio I just had to figure out the tab for the other window button that wasn't quite as easy to get to get the door panel off as it had come off. Thaks for the video, it really was helpful!
The front doors are 6.5" but the rear speakers are in the rear deck by the window and they are 6x9". If you want to put 6.5" in the rear deck, you will need 6x9-to-6.5" speaker ring adapters.
Parts linked in the description of the video!

Do you know the actual correct size of speakers for doors? Thinking of upgrading mine. Thanks
You should note what tools are needed in the description. Just think it would help. Thx for the video though!
Thanks for the ideas, I couldn’t figure out where I was going to mount my tweeter and your video is the only one that was helpful. Awesome job!

Thanks a lot!
Especially for the positive/negative if you don't have three harness adaptor which I don't 🤣
You did a hell of a job
Dang that awesome video suck it was at night but very helpful I just got 6.5 for my doors 2002 civic
Hi, what diameter were the old speakers so I know what to buy?
What about passenger side? Speaker has a wire bundle
The stock speaker magnets on those are like the size of a quarter!
They are Neo magnets which is why they can have such a small size, but nonetheless, much needed for an upgrade.
How deep is the front door speaker? Im not sure if these speakers im getting will fit..they are 3 1/4" deep
Some forums say really around 2" top mounting depth. So you may need to buy a bracket or make an MDF spacer to clear the window
Thank you very much for your help.
hello, thanks for the video, it was very helpful, what tweeter are you brand?
What is the tallest speaker I can put in there? I want to do a 2.5" cerwin Vega speaker
Would kicker speakers work on this car too?..
Any brand works as long as they are the correct size and mounting depth.
How is the bass on the speakers?
What is the name of the crossover name you use
Awesome video
How did you wire the tweeter to the existing harness?
How did you tighten those screws into the hold speaker holding part?
You will need to drill holes in the old speaker housing. Once those holes are cut out, then put it on the door to mark the spots you need to drill into your door. By ripping the factory speaker apart, you will lose the little clip that holds the speaker in place
Passenger speaker wires
Light blue is NEGATIVE
Green/Black is POSITIVE
Driver speaker wires
Grey/Red is NEGATIVE
Green/yellow is POSTIVE
Thank you so much. I can't seem to find a clarification on this anywhere else.
"Kinda one handed here"
Does that speaker adapter fit on 03 civic doors
I wanna install my Bose sound system my 2009 Mazda 6 into my 2004 civic think it would work ??
Nope. I’d recommend going aftermarket.
But why is the door cloth in mine falling out too🤣
What about the connector on the passenger side? Which color is positive and which is negative?
Red/green is positive, brown/black is negative. The harness adapter I used also fits the other side too.

What’s the size of the door speakers? Cheers

Would it be okay to bypass the harness and wire the existing wires straight to my new speakers ?
Sure, thats what we did.
So I did this and my dash lights stopped working
What's the name of the drill u have
At the time of the video, we were using a Black & Decker 20v cordless drill with a 2" hold saw.
Y don't show the people that how do pull that out
Why does my door panel vibrate after I installed the new speakers
There’s just something rattling so figure out what’s rattling and either tighten it more or add foam padding
Thx for the vid. Dude,.. tripod. Get one. Thx.
Woah, this is super old content. Apparently you haven't seen what we actually produce today...
How big were the speakers?
6.5". See the description of the video.
What type of tweeter you used?
How did you get the after market speaker to stay inside the old speakers bracket?
Screwed it on with the screws that cine with the speaker
Same question, this reply doesn’t make sense. There’s no place for the screws to attach.
he screwed the speaker to the bracket and then screwed the bracket to the door for extra security
What type of crossover and tweeter did u use?
SPS-610C components
How did you cut the mount out
We just used a pair of flush-cuts and cut the brackets to the size we needed.

hi where to connect the wires from the tweeters? you didn't show

you connet it with the same speaker you have

will 6.75 work also?
Yep!
Will that work for a 2002 lx the speakers I got are boss 6.5 rage
