We filmed and produced the show, and we are definitely not aware of any synching. What you have to remember is that these guys have been doing this for decades. They can play these songs in their sleep. It's not surprising that they sound so similar to their records live.
He does, but like most bands that have been around forever, they lost their edge. His new solo stuff is great and refreshing to hear. Most bands stick around thinking they r still relevant. Most r not. I love ZZ Top
ZZ TOP was my sons first concert. He was 13. I started to listen to ZZ TOP at 13 in 1973. Saw them live in 1976 for the first time. These guys have been together longer than any other rock band in history. They are still rocking after all these years. Hang out after the concert and see if you can talk your way in. We did at Red Rocks in Colorado. I never dreamed I would meet the band with my son 31 years later! Great band. I'm a life long fan and lucky to have them along all my life. ENJOY!
I believe most people don't understand how important the interplay between the bass and drums are in their favorite songs. ZZ so good in so many ways. That is were LEGEND comes from.
Listening carefully to Frank Beard's drumming & I'm hearing one of the most inventive & powerful drummers in rock. Steady, creative, relentless & definitely the backbone of the ZZ Top skeleton. Those other 2 guys are the skin & heart of the entire body of work. Few bands could stand beside these men without having to bring their lasers, 50 naked women & smoke machines. I'm from NY where everything is big -- if we talk Texas rock -- we start with ZZ Top -we know that's Texas at it's best.
@@minnesotajack1 I mean, when you consider the high vocal range of the song (as well as it being one of the more popular ZZ hits that people are gonna call out for), and Billy's voice possibly aging, it kinda makes sense to have the vocal track handy. Personally, I'd rather he use the technology that's available, to not sound like he's hurting himself. And that goes for anyone who is at least accused of this sort of thing.

True, although he records the lip sync before each tour apparently, it's not the original recording. It's a compromise between a song people really want to hear and the fact that age has hit his vocal chords. Seems about right to me.
God, is voice sounds SO good live! Who else has the soothing yet gritty texturing of a voice like Billy Gibbon's? Great guitarist, but actually a very underrated singer!!!
I like that this live version is like the album version and not like the single version. The guitar work from Billy is astounding. Saw them on the afterburner tour. Greatest concert I've ever seen hands down.
Billy Gibbons gets some amazing sounds out of his guitar, and his voice (although not strong) fits the music pretty good. Ive liked this band since early 70s, wonder of they get tired of playing their old stuff all the time.
Zz top is THE BEST BAND IN THE WORLD. listen to this song many times a day. My favorite song. Can't wait to see them in Syracuse later this year. It will be one hell of a show
hey this is music, man! That riff is infectious. The beards are the best. Awesome! Good old tune by some good old boys! ZZ TOP is the best rock'n'roller in america!
LOL...it' about time my friend. These guy's have rocked the world for decade's. Their music is a major factor in the ' ROCK YER SOCK'S OFF ' everyday part of life. listen to them often...and enjoy!

I saw them in Tyler Texas, my hometown, in April of 2010 and yep, those guys still sound great! Not bad for some good ole Boys from Texas! By the way, they recorded their first album in Tyler if I'm not mistaken.
RUSH! I saw them on July 6th in Hamilton. Now that is going strong. 40+ years and only the Stones and the Beatles have more consecutive gold and platinum albums. Clockwork Angels was Rush's 20th. And like the awesome bands you mentioned, they haven't lost a step. (Well, the Stones need to hang it up I think)I saw Nazareth a couple of years back and they're still cooking, too. The older bands are what's keeping music, and fans alike, alive and kicking.
That's a great liver performance. I only saw them once in 2004, and they were great. I liked the smooth little dances they did during riff and solo breaks.

Wow, they even got bearded guitars... One of my favorite songs... hey this is music, man! That riff is infectious. The beards are the best. To play such a twist with only three “stings” is cool!
A fuzzy guitar cover? You gotta love it LOL! I don't think I have ever seen a guitar cover quite like that before. Only ZZ could pull that off (well maybe Queen). It would be hard for Freddie to do that to his keyboards.
lol at 3:36 Billy makes the one and only technical mistake I have ever seen, and he is so cool about it that if you weren't paying attention you wouldn't have even noticed. I love these guys.
Dusty Hill, thank you so much for all you gave, for who you are, for the best music. I will miss you. Rest in peace, my old friend.

Rest Easy Dusty. Thank you for your magnanimous bass playing. ZZ Top forever!!!!
Yep, that Li'l Ol'Band from Texas. When asked to what he attributed the band's long term success, Billy Gibbons replied " Same 3 guys, same 3 chords."
ZZ Top is immortal. In their sixties and still rocking.

I love how Billy can sound like a badass for one minute and then do a Bryan Adams-like voice the next. Dude's a legend.
People accuse him of faking this, but no he's just that good.

The sheer wall of sound made by those two Gibson Explorers is INSANE!!! And the tone of Gibbons's guitar is pure magic!

Just 3 guys putting out this powerful sound...amazing.
Ultimate excellence and simplicity in rock. Lead guitar. Bass guitar. Drummer.

Fun fact: metal bands such as Metallica look up to ZZ Top as inspiration! Respect!

Can we not pause and mention how awesome Frank’s playing is and how badass sounding his kit is?
I'm a Billy fanatic, but Frank and Dusty pounded some rock-solid rhythm. Frank still does.
Awesome! Good old tune by some good old boys!
No Pyro, no gimmicks other than some screens and coloured floodlights. Just three guys rockin the hell out of Texas. How awesome is that!?
