- I have been wanting to make this video for some time now. I wanted to talk about what it was like to live with gallstones and gallbladder problems. Now that it has been removed I can say I feel so much better, but it is going to be a while before I start to feel myself again. Please subscribe and come along with me as I try and figure out life without a gallbladder.

In currently looking at removal of my gallbladder but here so many stories of bad side effects post surgery
My attacks were a lot like yours. So infrequent at the beginning I would forget about them. Got so bad the final 2 weeks I was having 8 hour attacks and an emergency room visit along with 2 urgent care visits. Lots of throwing up, lots of anxiety surrounding it. Finally had a 16 hour attack and they did the ultrasound and found my gallbladder issues. 10 days post surgery right now.
How is it going now after the surgery?
Safe: Scrambled eggs (no oil), tuna (packet or can on water), soup w/ soft carrots, shredded chicken, and Jello (any flavor). Avoid bread, greasy, fried food pork/beef at all cost. Yes, gallbladder attack will force you to diet if u want to avoid the horrific, unstoppable pain. Lost 15lbs in 2wks. I miss real food but i don’t miss the 5hr pain either. Getting mine removed in January 2020. Wish me luck. Thanks for the video.

Maybe just different triggers for everyone but I'm fine with bread, I'm vegan so there's a lot I don't eat anyways. I can eat some junk type foods but a very limited amount, it's if I go slightly overboard I have an attack. I even had just a tall oatmilk mocha from Starbucks about a month ago around 2PM, it wiped me out the entire day. I couldn't eat anything else and felt so ill.
Did you get it out? How did it go and did you improve?
@@sydneyjackson7591 eggs were the first thing i noticed i couldn't eat without feeling panic in my chest, i moved to egg whites and i was fine. Got the gallbladder out 2 weeks ago.
Very authentic video, I go through all such stuff, it was horrible..i didn't know , what's exactly going on, even i was hospitalised. Then one of my friend suggested me to go for lower abdomen ultrasound..then it was diagnosed..my surgery done a week ago..m feeling better...i don't have kids, never ever had any type of serious physical issue , but go through all this..there is no cure of gallstone except surgery..so guys plz eat clean and stay away from un healthy food..its essential,, even u don't have stones yet

It is their job to prepare you with all the details in advance. That's on them. I just had my surgery yesterday. It's harder than I expected! But totally doable. I also had two c-sections and my gallbladder surgery post-op is harder. I wish I had been more prepared for that- thankfully my husband knew better than I did and took off work for a few days so he could help.
I echo the need for digestive enzymes!! I take the papaya enzymes.

I just wanted to share some thoughts; I have been suffering from chronic cholecystitis since last May, and I had to deal with multiple biliary colics throughout the past three months. They hurt so bad, so much worse than stomachache like you mentioned, and the pain would last for at least 5 to 6 hours. Recently, whenever I'm having severe lower back pain out of the blue, I immediately know I'll be having a gallbladder attack within seconds. Then, the pain will start, alongside the severe back pain, and they would last for several hours. .
However, I am so apprehensive to have it removed, because I have read that about 10% of cholecystectomy cases will continue to complain from the same pain! And also some side-effects like diarrhea [which is anticipated considering the fact that it also happens following taking oral bile acids to help digesting fats and basically resting the gallbladder in case of gallstones], and my ultrasound shows a large stone which my gastroenterologist told me was better than having small ones as the large one won't occlude the cystic ducts causing acute cholangitis, unlike small ones which have the tendency to cause complications_ hence the fact that I'm merely taking medications [Digestive enzymes and Bile Acid] for it and watching my diet. I also want to mention that I rarely ate fats before knowing about my gallstone, and I weigh about 67 Kilograms!

I am planning on uploading more.. just trying to make room on my computer 🤦🏽♀️ so to be honest I do still get some stomach pain and I am not really sure where it stems from. But it is not anywhere near as severe as a gallbladder attack! I have been keeping a food diary and trying to figure it out. I’m not even 100% sure it’s the same thing. It does sound like you have some good help looking out for you! I hope you get you answer soon! Best of luck 😊

Yes...you can start to feel the attacks coming on. Found out this morning I have gallstones. I've been dealing with this pain since I was twenty-six(10 years). Now I have to have a HIDA scan done. I've gone through this with no pain meds. Thank you for sharing your story. I hope I can get my issue resolved soon.
You had these kind of attacks for ten years? Did they have to remove your gallbladder?

Just had my gaulbladder out a week ago, still got some pain in the same area not as severe as a attack just hoping n praying it's just from the surgery... I wish you good health for the future xx

@@stephaniem.3027 Thank you for the reply Stephanie, I had a few problems with the incision by my belly button it went all red in a square shape and was very warm to touch had 4 lots of antibiotics that did the trick. But been having some uncomfortable pain at the top of my stomach not as intense as my gaulbladder attacks used to be but made me worry if there's still some stones in a duct or something , other than that I'm doing well.. Just wish I could stop reading all the horror stories 🙄. Trying to eat healthier and see what works for me I didn't really eat alot of fatty foods before my downfall is cakes and biscuits 🍰🍮🍭lol I'm trying not to have as many but sometimes it's hard lol xx
Jayne Vassar oh wow! Almost the same thing happened to me actually! I have a ring around my belly button around 5 weeks out. I went the the emergency and they gave me an X-ray and they said it was a possible hernia. I went back the next week to see my surgeon and everything looked normal. He reassured me everything was okay and there was no hernia! I have been good ever since. I do also have slight pain from time to time in my upper abdomen. I am going to see my dr about it next week. Hopefully it’s nothing.

Hi, I have been waiting 18 months in the U.K. for my gallbladder removal I am throwing up and having attacks several times a week now it’s horrendous on top of my fibromyalgia the waiting list is so long I can not wait to get it out as I’m so sick with it I hope it isn’t much longer as I literally can not stand it much longer glad to hear you are much better now

Thank u it is like c section at first but heals faster dont let anyone tell u its nothing it was so painful first 3 days . I wish someone had told me what to expect i was so mad . I know it had to be done
I had mines removed yesterday..I was looking into some bile salts but the doctor was saying I may not need them and that our bodies adjust to not having a gallbladder...
Hello I have had my gallbladder removed since 2015 and I can never eat anything good anymore lol no palm oil is a definite for me otherwise I am SO sick 😷 thank you for your videos and support new sub here

Leila. the surgery went well!! It was a long recovery for me though with lots of soreness. I can’t eat fast food really or anything super greasy. It makes my stomach hurt pretty bad. I also try to stay away from dairy as much as possible. I think it was worth it though!
Abbie Southerland Well atleast you’re being healthy by not being able to eat all those greasy foods, its basically a blessing in disguise haha. I’m happy you finally got rid of the pain, wish you the best
Did it make a difference
I got my badly inflamed gallbladder (half full of stones) removed a month ago. The pain was unbearable during the attacks and was caused by greasy food (I used to follow a keto diet for a while which probably just made things worse...), but now after the surgery everything's great and I can eat anything without problems. Still, the gallstones can come back even without the gallbladder (!), so there's a good reason to follow a low fat diet and not gain too much extra weight.
Is it true that gallbladder stone comes back without gallbladder I mean I am food blogger I love to eat but I have got stone

Thank you for this video! I’ve been dealing with symptoms like yours for over 2 months. I google diagnosed myself after my doctors told me it was hormones and IBS and my doctors finally said it sounds like gallbladder issue... ugh! Waiting for my ultrasound next week. At this point I want it out it’s making me so miserable!

I had horrible symptoms for 18mnths. I went to numerous doctors. I had gastroscopy, colonoscopy for stomach ulcers/colon disease. The specialist said it was functional and tried to put me on antidepressants!
I told them numerous times it’s gallstones.
I paid privately to have an ultrasound...big gallstones diagnosed!
I had a laparoscopic cholecystectomy 3 days ago, symptoms already gone. Just abit sore from the operation.
Find a specialist surgeon who has a lot of experience with keyhole cholecystectomies.

@marcus vespasian..same happened to me in start..doc did the same,..then upon my request my ultrasound was done nd 2 stones diagnosed, later i go through surgery week ago..feeling much relief
The go to answer is whip it up but you need your gallbladder - you have it for a reason. If people could be bothered to radically change their diet and cleanse their liver and gallbladder, they wouldnt need it. And that’s without mentioning that you increase the risk of bowel cancer with bile now dripping directly into the small intestine.
Thanks for making your video, but it would have been helpful if you had shown the bottle of the supplement you're taking.
I've been suffering for 11 years and no doctor has given me the time of day. Hoping to see a new doctor soon and suggest gallstones.
Sucks that I had to do their job for them before anyone was willing to help me.

Me too I been suffering for 11 years before July 2021 finally a new team of Docters figured out it was my gallbladder.. The other Docters would tell me it’s nothing wrong with me I went to the ER 3 times through out the 11 years...

I’m watching this while I impatiently wait for my surgery next week. I have attacks 3-4 x a week. And I was crying just imagining someone else enduring this pain. My emergency dept has prescribed me morphine but it’s not cut and dry when you have a baby to nurse... I’ve also lost 30lbs, and can seem to only eat toast, bananas, carrots and broth.
I feel your pain! I have frequent attacks too and they are not fun at all. Also have a one year old and these gallstones got much worse after pregnancy

Hi, so glad that you shared your experience. I am going to have surgery this week and since it is my first time I am terrified. You said that the recovery at first was comparable to your previous c-sections. I don’t have that to compare to, so against a typical gallbladder attack, a really bad one how is the pain like in the days following surgery?
Estha Lensherr I had my gallbladder surgery 3 weeks ago...no pain meds after surgery. Only minimal discomfort, nothing to even mention. But everyone is different...this is just my experience.

Here no oxbile cap available if I eat butter or spicy things I feel pain
How long after surgery were you able to lift your baby? I just had surgery and it’s been a week I haven’t lifted my 11 month old baby. I can’t wait to be able to carry him around again with out worrying I’ll get a hernia.

Hey, Just a question. After your gallbladder removal surgery and when you were recovering, did you had any small lump on the area where they have done the key hole surgery. I've done the surgery like 2 weeks ago and I'm in process of recovering and it's going well. But if I touch the surgical wounds with my finger, I can feel the small lump inside so I asked doctor about this and he said when the body is recovering, it can build up the fluid inside the wound area due to the deep cut and it's a normal symptom. Did you have any similar situation? Thanks
landofyoutube I did have a scare after my surgery. So 4 weeks after my surgery I noticed a red ring around my belly button and at the top of my belly button there was a lump. I was pretty worried because for me it was obviously some sort of inflammation and it was warm where the redness had occurred. So I went into emergency and they took an x-ray and said it could be a hernia. The doctor told me he was going to send me for a CT scan and my hospital would call me to schedule and he sent me home. Meanwhile my surgeon wanted to see me and when I went in to see him the redness and inflammation had gone down. He said he looked at my x-ray and everything was normal and I shouldn’t worry. And here I am almost a year later and feeling good! So I know this isn’t exactly your situation but I hope I calms you a little. But I would always see a doctor just in case.
I know this was a while ago but I get mine out on September 11. Chocolate is a trigger for mine and large meals. I also know the moment it's coming on I get a heavy sensation in my whole upper abdomen. And lots of pain I also refuse to get sick as well but was super nauseous 🤢.

I thought I was having severe episodes of back and rib pain since I was 19. A few months ago my chest started feeling as if I was having a heart attack added to it. I couldn't drive during these debilitating episodes and they'd happen at least once a month. I went to the doctor a few times but until an er trip had no idea it was galstone attacks. I'm 37 now and set to have surgery on Friday. It's literaly ruined so much of my life having not known.

I have gallstones and I have the oddest medicinal taste in my mouth and breath right when I'm having an attack. I'm having tingling and my hands, feet and legs have been itching. About to get this thing out of my body.
My experience seems to be very different to many posters here. I have been getting attacks for over 20 years. They are ferocious but never last more than 1/2 hour. The pain is across under my bust and up a bit along my gullet. Usually accompanied by belching. It is like I would imagine a heart attack to be.
At various times I have my doctors it was heartburn, reflux, anxiety, panic attack, hiatus hernia, but gallbladder trouble was never suggested.
Then lately I had been vomiting and attack lead to an ER visit. Ultrasound and bloods indicated an inflamed GB but no stones. An MRI showed microscopic stones. No surgery yet. One attack since ER visit which was less than 10 minutes. I would be interested to know if anyone else has had similar kinds of attacks.
Everything you are describing is exactly what I’ve been dealing with.. in having an attack right now! These attacks are debilitating! I’ve had bloodwork, an ultrasound and a HIDA scan and everything is normal.. but all the symptoms align 100% with gallbladder attack! I don’t know what else to do.. 😢
U must have to go for lower abdomen ultrasound it will detect ur gallstones
Oh god I feel for you! After 2 months of attacks and I whole heartedly agree, they are debilitating, I've got an abdomen ultrasound this Friday. I'm praying they see the problem no issues and will get rid of this god damn gallbladder. I ended up in A+E about 2 weeks ago with thee most horrific attack, it was actually traumatizing and the doctor thinks its biliary colic, just need the scan to confirm this. Hope you get some answers. It's an absolute nightmare and I miss eating without feeling scared
I too had a normal HIDA scan but because I have pain they're referring me to a surgeon.... advocate for a surgery consult.
Well thankfully (after a wasted ultrasound I never got results from, long story) I had another ambulance ride to A+E last week and was taken to a different hospital which was a blessing in disguise because finally something's being done and it almost made this excruciatingly painful attack worth it. They did an ultrasound, confirmed gallstones and am now down on the waiting list as urgent for my gallbladder removed... hallelujah!!! They said it will be around 2 weeks to 2 months. I'm just so glad there's light at the end of the tunnel. You think these attacks can't get any worse but holey sh*t this last one was hell on earth! I'm so scared of eating now, even certain drinks. I mainly stick to water a decaff coffee on a but wouldn't mind a bottle of wine now and again 🙈 Touch wood alcohol has never triggered my attacks, people say fat does it but for me personally it seems to be things high in salt so I'm being so careful atm. Hope you ladies get sorted cos it's no life 💗🙏

Stephanie, Im waiting to hear from the hospital when they have a bed available to remove my gall bladder by key hole surgery. Theres a shortage of beds in NHS hospitals. Ofcourse I am apprehensive.

Thank you for sharing. I’m scheduled to get my gallbladder out in 2 weeks. I’m terrified bc I’ve never had surgery. I have pain from the attacks but all day I get bloated. My surgeon said he didn’t know if the bloating was from gallbladder. Also people say your metabolism changes from no gallbladder. I’m so scared from all these stories! Any input would be helpful!
I think the bloat does have something to do with it. I am far less bloated since having it removed. And I do think your metabolism does slow down. Just continue to live a healthy live style and you should be okay! Good luck on your surgery ♥️ the first few days are no fun, but you bounce back incredibly fast (in my experience)

I am going through gallbladder issues and I am breastfeeding having a lot of loose stools losing hair probably from lack of fat digesting. We’re you breastfeeding while this was happening to you my baby is almost 4 months old any advice would be greatly appreciated

I had mine removed 5 days ago. I am in a lot of pain after eating anything . I have ordered Bile salts to have before meals . Fingers crossed it helps with the digestion . Right now I feel miserable .

Pamela Hicks I hope you are healing well!! It took me a bit to eat more regular things. I can eat greasy food without it bothering me most of the time. The only thing that really bothers my tummy is avocados! They go right through me! Other than that I am pretty good! Hope everything goes well for you!

....I ate pizza the same day....no lie. Mine was so bad that even after surgery and trying to heal and adjust I was still feeling 100% better.....even with eating junk right after.....my gallbladder was dead....like becoming toxic and enlarging my liver....it was that bad. 💯

How are you feeling now? I had my first attack early 2016. Loss weight and it went away. Got pregnant last year and it started up late last year. I don't want to have surgery but will probably have to in the next month or two.
renea8724 congrats on you pregnancy that is so exciting! I’m so sorry to hear about your gallbladder issues! I hope you don’t have to get surgery but to be honest I am just happy living pain free!
The main reason I had it removed was because if I ever get pregnant again the odds of having an emergency surgery are huge! So that was my main thing... I was doing fine maintaining my diet for the most part. I had really figured out what foods I needed to avoid for my body.

Stephanie Young thank you for replying. I actually already had the baby. I'm trying to see if I can get it under control with diet until I'm done breastfeeding. I know what I should eat it's just hard. I'm gonna try the digestive enzymes you mentioned. I also heard ox bile supplements are good too. Congrats on being pain free.
renea8724 oh congrats!!!!! Now reading back I realize you did have the baby! That is amazing! I hope you find a good combo that helps you in the long run! The digestive enzymes I take do have oz bile in them!
renea8724 yes you are going to have it it’s not going away they are hard stone and the min you eat something it’s going to be attack and that’s not good for you I feel much better good luck

I have been battling what I think is multiple attacks over the years but it’s getting worse. I have had a rough time after this Christmas. I had a Ct years ago but nothing showed up. I am having a HIDA scan in 3 days and hope to have some answers. I start thinking maybe it’s bad and I have cancer. The one thing I get a lot the watering on the mouth, burning pain under my right rib cage, pain in my back and shoulder blades, the worse diarrhea. Did that happen to you as well. Glad you are feeling better.

tara colgan no that didn’t happen to me. Although now my stomach is still very sensitive to fatty foods so I still need to be careful.
tara colgan how are you now? My gallbladder issues started during fasting! I go 1/24 for removal. Same symptoms as you except no shoulder pain which I heard is common. I’ve been on Keto diet since 2/1/19 which is higher fat but believe years of bad diet created my problems of sludge and stones. Thankful I’ve lost 60 pounds and am healthier to go thru surgery! Barbara Vann that is awesome about your weight loss. I too need to clean up my diet as well. I had aHIDA scan and it was normal. Started taking Prevacid again, although better still have some nausea and slight discomfort.
I am glad you felt better so fast. I am a guy so you know I won’t handle the pain as well as you lol. My stones likely came from my weight loss. I lost over 150 pounds in a little under 2 years. I did it by eating low carb, and I felt great until one day I didn’t. My doctors tell me to eat low fat, and have me on omeprazole. I am waiting on word if I will have to have it removed, but my HIDA scan came back at only 10% so my guess is it will come out. I don’t do well on carbs so I hope that I will get to a point where I am not eating rice and potatoes all the time. Acid doesn’t seem to bother me, I can eat tomatoes and have lemon in my tea without issue right now, but I am fearful of what it will be like after it’s out. My brother in law says take digestive enzymes, but I am not sure what to take. My doctors won’t really define a low fat diet to me, but say avoid fat and vegetables that are hard to digest like broccoli, cabbage, beans and such. It doesn’t leave much to eat. I know this is an older video, but if you or anyone out there can share some advice, I would be greatly appreciative.

I'm 37 now and set to have surgery on Friday. It's literaly ruined so much of my life having not known.

You've been having these kind of symptoms since you were 19? I didn't know that you could have that many years. Did you have your gallbladder removed?
Can you eat whatever you want after you remove your gallbladder?
I ate pizza same day and had way less discomfort than before it was removed.....and we're talkin' that's right after I left out patient lol takes some getting use to.....but it's not bad....mind you some have more trouble than others afterwards

My attacks lasts for 9 to 11 hours even after drinking tons of pain reliever. I might undergo surgery next month before my school starts.

I'm still waiting for my surgery tho but I think I'm still fine even tho I literally can't eating anything except for apples and baby biscuits. I can't even eat bland steamed veggies.

The way people describe the back pain with gallstones is crazy cause before mines was removed I had back pain for five years but my gallstones were developing and I would get attacks just right before it got removed it’s crazy I’m happy you posted this video because it’s so needed
Dose back pain gone after gallbladder removal? What kind of back pain and where was it ? Because my gallbladder almost full of gall stones , but my gastro said my back pain is not from gallstones,so I got 4 back injections,since then I couldn't walk for about 4 months, and I am still walk with back pain , no normal life since .
I'm having gallbladder problems , mine is a constant dull aching either under my rib cage then moves into my lower back , and my abdomen allways feels tender, it seems constant throughout the day , but not when I sleep on my left side , it eventually goes away , but its not like a viscous attack more of a constant niggle ! I had an ultrasound arround 3 years back and the said there is some sludge in the gallbladder ! So this is whats pointed me to the gallbladder problem ? Has anyone else experienced these symptoms ?
Yes I do experience these symptoms.
Nausea and the feeling I have something in my throat.
Plus stools that are weird.

I don’t have a dr. I lost insurance a year and half go all I been able to do is go to the er. I just was in the er last night. I’ve started eating yogurt , frozen yogurt, pudding, I can do ramen with no spice, and whole grain pasta and that’s about it. I’m working on going to a non profit location for low income to start my process of getting it taken out. But in the last two weeks I’ve lost like 10-20lbs and it’s coming off so quick. I mean I’m overweight but it’s scary that I’m loosing weight so quick

This august the worst thing happened to me ever in my life! I randomly started getting super nauseous and dry heaving with no vomiting. This lasted for three months straight and no one could figure it out. At that point I seriously thought I had some form of cancer. Gastro finally said its probably your gallbladder. So off for a Hida scan and bam right there, functioning at 9%! Had surgery october 26 and im still nauseous on and off some days. Been two months. Really hope this goes away. Im so tired of it! I dont gag as I used to but still do mainly in the mornings. Ugh! My gallbladder showed chronic inflammation, a freakin tumor was growing inside of it! Lots of cholesterol inside and adhesions everywhere! My worst nightmare! I lost so much muscle mass, weighed 226 and dropped to 175
I'm 28 man same with me....no stones but mine was at 6% or less.....it was so bad I would get the shakes like Parkinson's dude....turned out when my gallbladder would try and contract as it should it just couldn't do it.....so it was making the artery quiver and making me shake.....it was INSANE man. No idea why it quit working or how long it was bad......but I'm inclined to think mine was bad for quite some time....half my life I bet. Screw that gallbladder bubba 💪 💪

I had surgery 2 weeks ago. I still feel some pulling pain on my side from surgery is that normal did you get some discomfort on the side. Overall well. What are the digestive pills called.
Khloe Ritsa I remember discomfort for sure. I bit a doctor but it could be things healing in there and maybe some slight shifting. I’m glad you are recovering well! They are called digestive enzymes

@@itsAutumnAllYear sorry for late reply....not bad tbh....mine was apparently dead and not doing anything at all...it was actually getting toxic they said.....he had to cut it out in pieces because it was like embedded into my liver and had a film or something coating it.....had no stones strange enough......mine just didn't work.....matter fact I would shake sometimes and had no clue why...come to find out when my gallbladder would try to contract and do it's thing it wouldn't/couldn't so it was making the artery quiver....and making me feel crazy....I was freaked out.....go back in October for a ultrasound to see if that being gone and losing a bit of weight got rid of my "fatty liver".....sure hope so because I don't like all this junk.....thanks for checking on me!
My systems were sharp pain bloating almost like charlie horst cramp

I have a non working gallbladder . Idk if it's just me but my pain it's so intense that my right leg gets swollen and my clothes fit tighter on that side . It's freaking annoying . Avoiding oranges tomatoes coffee corn and fatty foods is best for me . I was doing the cabbage with chicken breast no pain and I was getting small but then I had some foods that I can't have , and I end up in the ER .

nayyer malik nyc best advise is to eat very clean and very low fat. Lots of veggies and fruits. Be sure to seek out a medical professional as I am not! Feel better soon

How long did you have your gallbladder symptoms?
People keep explaining your exact attack. Mine is more yellow diarrhea for two weeks. My dr thinks it’s gallbladder. But I’m starting to second guess.

I am having upper right side pain i have been super nasouas and can't eat anything without getting sick the pain is under my right rib cage and breast bone doctors keep telling me it is constipation or gas but i think its my gallbladder
Jenni Stec get a second opinion. You poor thing. It sucks to have gallbladder pain. A low fat diet and enzymes will help but it will suck.
I’m so sorry to hear! Having any kind of pain is no fun especially gallbladder pain 👎🏼👎🏼 I also suggest maybe getting a second opinion. Maybe ask for some blood work and ultrasound. Hope this helps 🙂 feel better soon 💕
Stephanie Young i had an ultrasound but it showed no gallstones. My pain has gotton worse since the ultrasound through. My doctor thinks i have an inflammed gallbladder

Gary Smith i just had mine out 4 days ago and I’ve been having diarrhea since yesterday 😪 I’m also having. A lot of nausea, but I’m not sure how normal it is to have these symptoms after surgery

Jody much better. I don’t get diarrhea as frequent, maybe once a week? And I eat everything I wasn’t able to before so I don’t think it’s so bad lol. Sometimes I do get some pain on the side but it’s very mild compared to the attacks I used to get.

that GuY Yes, but it does cause pressure. Like I said, it doesn’t help the pain but it also doesn’t/hasn’t spurred on an attack. Drinking I’m not sure about as I don’t drink much anyway.
