    I saw a video of Ford in a huge City Council meeting where he was talking about separate bike lanes, or protected lanes. These are bike lanes that are separate from car lanes by a short wall/ barrier. I think that’s a better idea, it protects the bikers from a car possibly swerving over and accidentally hitting someone. I’ve seen it in a lot of different places and it’s the best thing, bikes are protected and cars don’t have to worry about hitting someone and they don’t have to share a lane with something that doesn’t go as fast as them, it’s a win win situation for all. Protected bike lanes for all!!

      I don't know why we are listening to this American guy who likes to get "high". Does he really know anything about the Toronto projects? and how much nicer they are here than in his country? Rob Ford personally goes to the projects and tries to solve problems like plumbing and roaches, and I don't mean marijuana roaches, like woody woodpecker is concerned with. Hah, hah, that was a good one! But seriously, I guess rob is "guilty" of being honest, but who knows what this slimey guy is up to, hahah, another good one

    PS: Please do some research on your own, rather than consulting with your 'friends' especially when you compared 'W' with our Mayor. Rob is totally the opposite. Unlike your former President, Rob is the first TO Mayor who has saved TO taxpayers 1bil, yet your 'W' spent 2.3trillion (and that was just the start) of US taxpayers money that was conveniently unaccounted 4. Mayor Ford also backs and helps those less fortunate that people like your's and my Gov't have dismissed and ignored. Woody, I bet if you and Rob could sit down, because you both are very down to earth, REAL people and enjoyed a libation of choice and an intimate discussion together, I'm sure it would be a productive and enjoyable experience. You would most definitely change your tune about him.

      You can't save taxpayers money unless you physically redistribute taxes to taxpayers or cut taxes down, which from a simple economical perspective ends up costing the average taxpayer in public services, however benefits overly wealthy taxpayers immensely. By that same principle then, you must consider that those millions that were saved probably already came from people that had millions in their pockets to begin with. Now that being said, short term profits say nothing about long term benefits of an economic policy, or the virtues and ethical management of a public office.There's a reason toronto has one of the highest population of homeless, and no it's not cause' they don't want to work, no homeless person will ever tell you that being homeless was career choice for them.

    Rather than a Harrelson character, I think I associate Rob Ford with one of Woody's co-workers on the film "Natural Born Killers", the fat father, butcher, and not so smart or tough guy despite his talk. That's a character that would lend itself to a Ford portrayal.

      Shallow? How so? Then a large portion of the world must strike you as odd, although admittedly - it is; perhaps acting is the most honest of all professions? At-least you know a film is an elaborate composition of facades and artificial encounters...

    • @slw154
      @slw154 11 років тому +2

      Demetrio Orellana "Acting".... Pretending.... is the most honest of all professions?????? LOL
      Pretending emotions is an "honest profession"..???
      And yes, I do find alot of people to be shallow and superficial. Most people are so retarded they don't even have a legitimate opinion about something, they just think they know how they feel by saying what they think they need to say.
      Woody is just a stoner, nothing less, nothing more. Like most "actors", there is nothing spectacular about him.

    • @JoeyRamone1993
      @JoeyRamone1993 11 років тому +3

      Are you aware of the irony in that statement? Shallow and superficial? Such as defining a person by two aspect of their life, smoking marijuana and their profession? You say that as if somehow that can encapsulate the entirety of a person's character and life experience.
      It surely is an honest profession. Are you familiar with the Super-Ego or any thusly derived theories about cultural normatives and conformity to such things? You know an actor is lying to you, you know he's pretending; yet in all other facets of life that are removed from personal experience you can be doubtful of your perceptions of others and your understanding of the things around you.
      I'm not sure what you mean, the act of feeling is one of the few things which cannot be doubted.

    If he was really innocent, Ford should have just confronted journalists in a press conference by telling them to chose the drug testing clinic of their choice and he would follow them there. There are still some costs, such as books, housing, etc. Those are paid by the rich students and low income students get them deducted. And the whole model of taxation makes it so that, no, the family making $40,000 a year barely scraping by gets subsidized by those who make 200,000 a year through taxation. Its the same model as the healthcare system in Canada, everyone helps everyone. Also, the income distribution is more equal in France, so that situation would be rare anyways.

    @dannymaclamp Some art forms are simply not commercial. Does something only have value if it has a price? That sounds a lot like Rob Ford. Some things are not about profit.
    For (a very relevant) example: public transit. It benefits the public hugely but it will NEVER be profitable. Should we just let it die and only have private transportation on select routes that people will pay for? The heavily used routes subsidize the rarely used ones but they are all necessary for the system to work.

    HARRELSON should stick to his side of the border if he wants to critique politicians. HARRELSON said that he "heard" from other people that Ford is a lousy politician. I'd like to know what people he spoke to. Probably the same people who never wanted FORD in CITY OFFICE in the first place. And regarding Ford hating bike riders. Not true. Ford said he wanted to make separate paths for bike riders because too many of them are getting hit by cars or falling into pot holes. This is true. 1) The bike riders in Toronto are careless. I can say that for a fact. 2) Many of the streets in Toronto need repair. The roads are in a shameful state. I saw better roads in Cambodia. 3) Ford wanted SUBWAYS to be extended into low income areas, because LRT (aka BUS LANES) will only add to the already growing problem of traffic congestion. This would have cost the city more money, hence a lot of people wanted FORD crushed in his tracks. NOBODY IN POLITICS LIKES A FELLOW POLITICIAN WHO ACTUALLY CARES ABOUT THE LOW-INCOME POPULATION. AND FORD WAS CUTTING BACK ON GOVERNMENT EMPLOYMENT JOBS, AND BALANCING THE BUDGET. THAT'S A NO-NO. HE WAS THE GUY THAT WANTED TO OPEN THE CITY'S ACCOUNTING BOOKS.

    @MegaYapyapyap sheppard line ghost town? have you been here during rush hour i live on don mills, it fills the trains on rush hour for such a small line. no shit other lines have larger crowds they are huge lines, if this line extends to Scarborough town center it gives people of Scarborough a proper system, then you will see the line packed.
    LRT is a quick fix, they have to flow with traffic lights slow line..... continued.

    A normal society wouldn't have messes to clean up in the first place. A utopian society would be based on generosity instead of greed and I don't eat until everyone else eats mentality.

    After a night of heavy beer drinking and disgusting junk food, I've just laid a stinking coil of character actor who wants to portray Rob Ford. No make-up required!

    "He's A Ford, not A Lincoln" sounds to you like a Mayor in Canada is being compared to two former Presidents does it? Quite the twisted interpretation there.. but nice try. Perhaps not. Sounds to me like he's referring to the vehicles.. but whatever works for you!

    @PortugueseGina1 "fiscal responsibility," right. Cutting taxes and then complaining about not having the money to pay for services is not responsible.

    @dannymaclamp Provide examples of how it is "biased," please? (you might want to check the dictionary -- "biased" doesn't mean "things I don't like")
    You didn't like one show. Again, not evidence of anything.
    Do private broadcasters have a 100% success-rate?

    @dannymaclamp Artists ARE by and large "lower income people" and I'm pointing out it is NOT, as you suggested, because they don't work hard. So, why do you afford respect to the hard-working factory worker and not the hard-working artist? (THAT is an example of bias, by the way)

    I get your point. In fact it is much harder to quit cigarette than marijuana. Yes, If I could I would illegolize cigarettes as well. But, such thing would turn people smoking something even worse than that. How about alcohol... first of all there is nothing wrong with drinking alcohol. I love wine and liquor. However, there is definitely something wrong with uncontrollable alcohol drinking.
    I wasn't against marijuana until I learned serious consequences of smoking it.

    That's actually a great idea. fining people if they do not vote... But then again those people may just walk in check the first name they see and leave with no care... We do need new laws of a sort to get people to vote... How about if a political party candidate makes promises and breaks them, then they must present in front of a court judge why they did not honor their campaign promises, mind you exceptions for such things as recessions or other emergency's. Continued.

    @dannymaclamp So, you didn't get it. That's valid. But that's not an argument against arts funding.
    I could name playwrights or authors or filmmakers I don't like, but arguing against arts funding = advocating for a soley (and soulless) commercial arts environment where anything challenging or difficult or controversial will be ironed out in the interest of being palatable and selling more tickets.

    A constricted and ego centric mentality leads to problems, an expansive, inclusive and collaborative mentality leads to problems solving.
    I'd say be the change you wanna see cuz in the end all you have control over is you, and you have a lifetime to fine tune yourself into the best example, so do we all :)
