The way that Ted Danson talks to and about Woody you can tell he has so much admiration and respect for the guy. Like he is a real friend. So cool to see them together like this and will tune into their podcast.
Harrelson and Danson really beat the TV actor odds to a tremendous degree. Danson with several post-Cheers series that went for multiple seasons and Harrelson achieving that rare thing: a TV actor who successfully transitioned into a lasting movie career.
Some of the TV casting directors really can pick talent. 4 actors from Cheers have had notable careers. Ted and Woody, of course. Kelsey has done well, and Ratzenberger, as a voice actor in feature films. You're right, Woody being a movie star is a rare transition. Honestly, I would not have picked him for it. I had no idea how much range he had.
The "somewhat forgettable" Woody Harrelson movie that he was shooting in Vegas is probably The Grand, if I had to guess. Crazy cast. Werner Herzog and Ray Romano are in that.
Woody, to me, never got enough credit for vast range. He's done comedy, drama, horror, everything....some actors are in those movies as themselves, same type of person in each movie. He'll play completely different personalities and lifestyles, like a truly great actor.
Yes, True Detective was awesome (except the whole reveal who the killer was). But Woody's part could have been played by a couple of actors. Matthew's part? Not so much

Funny you mention Leslie Nielson, they were both in the movie Creepshow together, pre-Cheers too. The both played opposite each other and its so different from what both are known for. They were both great.
Comparing Danson to Leslie Nielson is just... wow. One was a comedic genius that could make you laugh with just his face, had impeccable comedic timing, his slapstick skills were on par with Chaplin... and then we have Danson.
People talk about the best American directors of the past 20-40 years and of course you hear names like Scorsese, Coppola, De Palma, Spielberg, Anderson(s), Stone etc., but you rarely hear the Coen Brothers mentioned, which is astonishing to me as they have made some of the best films of the past 20+ years and to my knowledge have never released a bad one.

Really curious what he changed. The exchange in the book is quite a bit longer, but mostly on Chigurh's end. I'm guessing he just threw in all the times Welles says "Just do it" and Chigurh keeps putting it off.
Harrelson has found himself in the rarest position in my list of actors I admire: he can do no wrong. It's just a damned shame that the ensuing seasons have gotten progressively worse until the final one that I almost thought was a farce, it was so laughably bad. @@dustywaynemusic6297 I don't know about that. They can't be 'better' because the book came first. Better is of course subjective, you can say 'made more money' or 'was more exciting', but that doesn't mean much. Jurassic Park I definitely dont agree with, but never read the other two.
