That is a really good affordable one that came in at the end of December so I’m kind of grandfathering it into foundation month. I agree with you on the Charlotte foundation. I mean it’s not bad but compared to the other choices out there it’s not the best I don’t think. But I am never super enthralled with her complexion products. This new one from Shiseido seems super good to me but I am still playing with it. This looks so nice, I'm more into these types of foundations now than any other type of coverage. I wear them all year round anymore, I'm 36 and have dry skin so they just look best year round. I know you -- and many other influencers -- always say that SPF in products isn't enough. I have noticed though if I miss a place and go in the sun I can see the impact of the SPF in the product. I guess I just want to challenge the idea that we really need to put so much on that if it is in a product it is not enough? Just curious about any information on this.
I love this comment! You make a really interesting point. In other words, and I’m not trying to put words in your mouth at all, but I hear you saying that it has to be enough on some level. And I think that point is very valid. There are many who say that we are putting on way way too much. And a lot of that is dictated by the medical advice and what Dermotologists say etc. You are entirely correct in saying that you can see where you’ve had some coverage even though it might not be the amount that everybody is screaming that you have to have on. When I have written articles on this and interviewed Dermotologists, they practically jump up and down screaming that whatever we are wearing is not enough and, if they had their preference, they would have us under a sheet in a darkened room as well. I am kidding but not entirely. If the average user is forgetful about applying an SPF and has it in his or her primer or foundation, I completely agree with you that that can indeed do the trick. I suppose it also depends upon climate and sun exposure. Some of us sit inside all day some of us work in a garden in the desert. And I suppose all of that has to be taken into account whereas the medical advisers just make a blanket statement to suit everyone. But your perspective here is very interesting and, I think, more relevant than a lot of the medical community will admit. Thank you for your thoughts, I certainly appreciate them.

Australia often gets lumped in with Asia for releases and such because we are neighbours. So yeah, when I tried this I didn't like it so much, however, as mentioned it might have been my primer. I've been rather obsessed lately with pore filling primers to get really smooth looking skin and I've been using in particular the Tarte Timeless Smoothing Primer just on my T-zone. A lot of foundations I've used lately have given my pores a really strange look, almopst like I have foundation coloured freckles there in stead of pores and it's taken me a while to realise its the primer. I think what is happening is that the primer is filling in the pores but then the foundation sits on top of the filled pore but it then has a lighter colour to the rest of my face which has skin behind it changing the colour of the foundation. It's kind of like if I had filled my pores with glass and then you'd have straight up foundation on top of the glass which will look lighter then where you're got foundation over coloured skin. If that makes any sense at all. I thought all these foundations were either too light, or perhaps they were highlighting my pores. But nope it was the primer. Long story to say, I'll try the foundation again lol
Not a long story at all. Totally interesting and the glass analogy makes perfect sense. It’s basically two different surfaces that take the foundation differently. Please let me know if you get a chance to try again without primer. I’m very curious to hear.

@@NotFitforPrintBeauty hahaha important person!! Well not really but I'm okay 😃 I kinda want that Guerlain just for the compact alone. I wonder if it will be available on the Sephora site...VIB Spring sale soon!! 😁❤
@@pinksparkle258 yes! Very important! You most certainly are, my friend! I would hope that the new Guerlain will make it to Sephora. Probably not at first. All of these luxury releases are so strange,. They come out in Europe at one time in Asia at another time in the United States at another time with different shade ranges etc. I never quite understand them, I have to admit.
It’s NOT getting a little old!!!!! 😃 This looks SOOO beautiful on you. The shade turned out perfect imho. Also, thank you for saying the shades are stretchable. Sometimes creators go on a 10-minute rant (in a 15-minute video!!!!!) about how shades are just not there and they don’t even realize the product is on the sheer side (and, therefore, the shades do stretch a lot). I haven’t bought anything from Shiseido in years. I had their eye cream at one point and I really enjoyed it BITD. Was it called Benefiance or something like that?!! Wow, that was ages ago. I just remember liking it. Then why didn’t I repurchase it?!! I have no clue!!!! 😂😅💖
Oh do not get me started on… Wait don’t get me started on so many things you touch on here. Number one: do not get me started on why I don’t buy something again that I loved. The new things come and seduce me. That is my answer. Also do not get me started on jumping on bandwagons that make no sense. We need inclusivity and shade range. This is true. But 12 shades in a very sheer tint is indeed inclusive. B I TD there would be only four tint shades so the fact that there’s 12 is ginormous.Right? Do not worry, I know you agree with me. Yes! There was an amazing Shiseido eye cream BITD. Yes. We all had it and it was lovely and then none of us bought it again even though we all loved it.
@@NotFitforPrintBeauty OMG, I cannot (I repeat: cannot) agree more with everything you said. Huge YESSSSSSSS to all of it, including (but not limited to) the “do not get me started” part. I agree with your answer about not repurchasing things I loved. Now I do have a clue after all!!! It’s because of the seduction by new things. The only brand I purchased from for years and years was bareMinerals BITD. Leslie had a way of explaining things that made me want to buy everything. And I did too. After she sold it to Shiseido, I honestly don’t know why I completely lost interest in the brand. It lost its status, but why?? Shiseido is a great brand. I guess I moved on to the next thing, whatever that was. I still have a ton of bareMinerals products. Every time I am “ready” to throw it all away, I just can’t. Attack of nostalgia, hello, my old friend!! 🥰🥰
@@NotFitforPrintBeauty Ooohhhh, how awesome!!! I still love the brand. I still have a TON of products from BITD. Everything loose, which seems to be quite bothersome to many people nowadays. I still love it all. 🥰🥰🥰💖
Love foundation month!!! Have you tried the BeautyBlender Bounce Skin Tint that came out a few months ago? It is amazing! It has bumped out almost all of my other gazillion foundations.
Hello there! Oh yes. I most definitely did a review of that beauty blender product when it first came out. And I’ve done some reels on Instagram with it as well. It is a very very nice product. Totally agree!
@@Winklett03 How lovely to have you here and so grateful for your support. And please know that I would never expect for you to have known that I did that beauty blender review! No problem whatsoever. These reviews come a mile a minute. Sometimes I can hardly remember haha! 💕
I love the sound effects. OMG Rebecca, you are going to need a rest after all these foundation reviews are finished. I can't wait to watch your foundation round up; for me, it's still going to be the Nars or the Chanel. I've had an email this morning from Nars to sign up to be notified, so I definitely think the release date in the UK is Feb 1st.
Oh Debbie, I am so glad you were going to try the Nars. I am really enjoying it, but this new skin tint from Shiseido is also really something. And honestly I think I have three or four new ones still coming. I don’t know how I’m going to choose
@@debbieotoole1072 I’m worried about that ranking too, Debbie! I might break it up into tints versus fuller coverage versus powder. I have another new powder arriving today! Eek!
I tried this a couple of months ago. You could get it on Shiseido site and I love the synchros foundations. I like it but I wish it had a tiny bit more coverage. It’s great foe what it is but it’s not my fav alone. So I use it and mix in one pump of the reg synchro for little more coverage. Then great!
Yes! I think even a nice layer under the medium covered foundation would be beautiful. Is a very light coverage. It is pretty much a tinted moisturizer, really.
Absolutely true. As the British say “it does what it says on the tin “hey I just shared your reusable cotton pad rec with Tracie here in comments. Yay!!!!! Love them.
Foundation never gets old😘 I have never tried any shiseido other than their cotton squares. I just wish it didn’t have spf🙄😠 I checked out their actual foundations and they have spf too. So I have yet to try any skin tints since they launched. Are they supposed to be more foundation like than tinted moisturizers or are they really the same but renamed. The Wayne Goss brush is amazing!!!
Hi Tracie!!! I love that Wayne brush too!!! Shiseido Cotton squares are amazing. Last year I also discovered the Koh Gen Doh Cotton squares at Beautylish and I think I like those even more! You know I hate sunscreen in foundation products. It’s not even about the coverage or the SPF of it all it’s just that the SPF gets a little bit old and irritates my skin. And also, as you likely totally realize, sunscreen in foundation tends to be chemical and I don’t like to use chemical when I can avoid it etc. etc.. this particular product is very much like a tinted moisturizer. Very light coverage. Others are saying they like it as a primer. If you like a medium to fuller coverage this will not be your jam. But it is really pretty for just kind of every day wear. And, I suppose, in that respect, a little bit of sunscreen can’t be a bad thing. But I don’t know if I’ll admit to saying that ha ha.
@@NotFitforPrintBeauty Right! I can so do without the chemical sunscreens in genres but I especially do not like them in my foundation. Sunscreen breaks down rather quickly and it’s ability to protect skin even in a small way in foundation diminishes far sooner than any of us finish a bottle of foundation. I will have to try out the Koh Gen Do squares. I don’t think I knew they made those too. I don’t use facial makeup wipes often because of how wasteful and damaging to the environment but the Koh Gen Do face wipes are the best I have ever used! They remove everything from your face, even heavy duty eye makeup and foundation. They are expensive and probably not ideal for everyday use or wiping swatches from ones hand but they are nice to have around just in case (late nights, etc( and for travel.
@@traciewarren1070 Also, I now use the Glow Recipe reusable cotton pads as recommended by the lovely Veronica in our community here. They’re wonderful and go right into the wash! Yesssss regarding sunscreen. It just loses its power for any good and turns evil!!! 💕
Took me one or two uses to get used to them because they do soak in the product but, the other day, I’d forgotten to wash mine and I had to go back to the disposable cotton pads and I really missed the glow recipe reusable. So I’ve gotten super used to them and I feel like I’m doing some little bit of good however small it may be!
Very pretty Rebecca, that looks lovely on you. Shade match was pretty good. I've seen the Jaclyn Hill one used as a primer only in one review because she preferred it that way over just being used alone. Reviews I've seen haven't liked it so much as a skin tint because it won't build and a sponge picks it up. I don't know why people come for Jaclyn so hard. She has some other products in her line I've quite enjoyed.
Hello Carolyn! You touch on a point that absolutely fascinates me and has fascinated me since I started UA-cam. This is a main difference between this genre and the genre I usually do in a magazines. In the social media sphere of beauty reviews, there appear to be certain brands that become targeted by both creators and viewers. Other brands include Scott Barnes, though that has faded in recent months, hourglass and sometimes Wayne Goss And in the past Huda. For various reasons (some clear, some unclear) they just become ripe for attacks and it feels like people will not let up until that brand fails. Things like this never happen to Pat McGrath or Charlotte Tilbury. This new eye product by Charlotte is horrible and people are saying so but it will fade away and we will rave about her next endeavor. Jaclyn, however, has a whole sea of people rooting for her downfall. It’s kind of an interesting social phenomenon. All of my jabbering aside, yes, it appears to be much better as a primer. I will have to do that in a video to show it.
This looks really pretty for everyday! I didn’t get the Jaclyn one because all the mixed reviews out there and also it’s fragranced apparently. I like how the shiseido one is fragrance free :))))
@@NotFitforPrintBeauty I found you while doing the research to buy the right shade match for this tint but I will stick around, loved your content, love from Honduras!
I really disliked the Laura Mercier. One I have on my radar is a new brand from Sephora called Caliray Freedreaming skin tint. I’m always after (a) no sunscreen, (b), no fragrance and (c) no moisturizer needed. I have normal skin and I’m always on the hunt for a tinted moisturizer you don’t need to wear a moisturizer under because it seems redundant. I understand skin tints aren’t necessarily tinted moisturizers though.
Ahhhh yes. I have heard good things about Caliray! You definitely need to report back to me if you try that one! Do not worry, you know I totally understand that skin tints and tinted moisturizers are basically becoming the same thing! Haha. It’s all a blur, literally!!
Wait. Wait. I have that one on order for this month!!! The Freedreaming tint....!!!!! It's coming tomorrow I believe. So more on that one soon. I am honestly not able to keep up. I have this skin tint and one more from Rose Inc coming.
@@michelleisabel I can’t believe I actually got confused and didn’t realize it. That is one of the skin Tints that I mentioned is coming soon. Honestly. If my head were not attached it would roll down the darn hall.
@@michelleisabel I tried that one and it does have fragrance in it. I was so bummed It's the last ingredient. The scent is not overpowering but it's there when you first apply. I LOVE Guerlain and I feel I will not be able to resist it. After all, after this month, I’m going to need to try some sort of a new foundation! Ha ha ha ha. I could not agree with you more. We have the most wonderful, caring, intelligent community here. I am inspired every day by you lovely people. Yes. I have heard this about this variation of the virus. It can seem innocent enough one day and then it just goes on full attack to the next day. I am so glad that you are taking it easy and able to rest as that seems to be the most important component and I know that you are a most important person!
@@NotFitforPrintBeauty hahaha important person!! Well not really but I'm okay 😃
I kinda want that Guerlain just for the compact alone.
@@MissBeeeBeee Bare Minerals you say???? Bare Minerals you say?? Have I got something for YOU coming this week!!!!!!!!!! 💕 💕
@@NotFitforPrintBeauty Ooohhhh, how awesome!!! I still love the brand. I still have a TON of products from BITD. Everything loose, which seems to be quite bothersome to many people nowadays. I still love it all. 🥰🥰🥰💖
This one is pressed. Can’t wait for your thoughts!!!!!
@@NotFitforPrintBeauty Awesome! New subscriber so I need to work my way backwards on your videos. Keep them coming!
@Not Fit for Print Beauty I'll be honest am glad i don't have to do a ranking 😅, am going to miss foundation month.
@@debbieotoole1072 I’m worried about that ranking too, Debbie! I might break it up into tints versus fuller coverage versus powder. I have another new powder arriving today! Eek!
@Not Fit for Print Beauty yes, I think that would be better. I wouldn't mind that at all.😁
@@debbieotoole1072 Agreed. Since everyone has their preferred genre of foundation! Maybe one overall winner though! 💕
Where can I purchase in the Pittsburgh
Pa area? What retailer?
Hello there! Sephora. Nordstrom. Neiman’s. Saks. Likely bloomies.
Wow. So many complexion releases 😳 thankfully I am not a fan of tints, but it looks beautiful on your skin. 😂😂😂 the sound effects
I get a little too into the sound effects but they also were good company during the hectic foundation month with 18 releases. Good lord! Haha.
@@NotFitforPrintBeauty that’s a lot 🥴
@@AMerchBeauty tooooooo much!
@@NotFitforPrintBeauty yes it is just a tint it is good for what it is. I mean they tell you that is what it is lol
Absolutely true. As the British say “it does what it says on the tin “hey I just shared your reusable cotton pad rec with Tracie here in comments. Yay!!!!! Love them.
@@NotFitforPrintBeauty oh great me too!
@@veronicamcminn7775 ❤️
@@NotFitforPrintBeauty Oh I will check out those pads. I love reusable items that work well! Thank you and Veronica for the recommendation.
@@NotFitforPrintBeauty extremely interesting take on that
Never ceases to amaze me.
This looks really pretty for everyday! I didn’t get the Jaclyn one because all the mixed reviews out there and also it’s fragranced apparently. I like how the shiseido one is fragrance free :))))
Hello Aline! I am going to try the Jaclyn one more as a primer. I think I am going to give up on it as a skin tint or light foundation.
🤗🤗😆😆😆

What shade is the tint or the foundation?
225 Light Magnolia. I’ll have to add it to the description bar. I’m glad you let me know, Valeria!

@@valeriamaria790 I’m so honored to have you here!!!! 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
@@NotFitforPrintBeauty why am I not surprised that you have this one coming too lol. Excited to hear your thoughts on it!
Also it looks very matte on me even though I've seen some people on instagram wearing it and it looks glowy! so odd! Curious to hear what Rebecca thinks of it! lol
