Lefty like all mobsters of the time were always paranoid that the government was listening in their conversations - in the book Donnie describes how lefty and him were walking outside and lefty pointed to a tv antennae on the roof of a school and said that the government uses those to listen to conversations on the street
Lefty is not only known in the 5 Boroughs - he's known all over the world - from the 1980s and also in the future !!!

It is fact that most people that comment what you commented don't know because you and they never met or were around either character. @@thepistolguy859 I stand corrected. How can I argue,ur the Boss! He's a POS for that. I was glad when I found out Lefty got to see some daylight before he passed. He was a real gangster Rip Two Guns!
@@thepistolguy859 The friendship was not real to EITHER of them. Lefty was using him for money and manipulating him with all the talk of loving him. Every time they saw each other he would take money from him. As Pistone explained, he was never actually personally close with Lefty like the movie showed. In real life he had more of a personal closeness to Sonny Black. He said Lefty only talked about gangster shit while Sonny black was willing to talk about normal things. Lefty never cared for Donnie. He only cared about what he could get from him.

Gavin Winks it’s easy with the script lol No he did awesome tho, says things just like lefty did
My hats off to anyone who could listen to Lefty all and keep up with what he's talking about.
@@BloodyBamPot true lol. Apparently Pacino would listen to tapes of Lefty just to get the enunciating right. Bang on job if you ask me.
They argue like father and son. Btw, Pacino nailed it in the movie. Lmfao. Spot on!!!!
In Donnie Brasco Pacino says “Donnie, Donnie, you can’t pull the WOOD over my eyes”!! 😂
This was the five hour sit down Pistone talked about. His life was in the balance.
Everyone wonders how Donnie was under for so long, I could talk to lefty for three years too, I could listen to these tapes for that long, amazing!!
Wonderful!!! Since I find this tape, boy it's now 2weeks I'm listening to it like 10 times a day laughing so hard😂😂😂
surprisingly each time I listen to it I learn something or interpretation of all the mobs movies I have been watching
beside that Lefty seems at the end of his life of gangster. He seems lost, like he didn't gained nothing in that life
I feel sorry for him because he *genuinely loves DB*
3 dollars in my pocket.. Reality of a soldier
People idolise these two way too much
Pistone was a natural! The way he gave Lefty exactly what Lefty needed to hear was pretty amazing. First he acted all feisty and mad, and afterwards all calm and listening to Lefty like a good son. Making Lefty bond with him even more. That takes some serious skill.
GOD DAMN IT gotta watch Donnie Brasco again now
I’m pretty sure Lefty was drunk during this conversation
"I didn't drink.....I had a few drinks."
Lmao 🤣
To be fair he just left a meeting putting his life on the line for his “ friend”. I’d drink too.
"so have a bread stick"
i think he was exaggerating.
Donnie:.............!
Lefty: donnie let me tell you a couple of three things
I love how Lefty refers to himself as successful in the same conversation he continually complains that he has no money in his pockets.
“How do you know it’s a fugazi? You looked at it for 2 fucken seconds “
YOU WANNA BE A DUMBSKI ?
What’s funny is that’s not even a real word. Fugazi is something they made up on the spot.
@@haroldbailey9011 It was a limo service, which had commercials that ran every minute of the night or day in the 70's on local NY tv. Bob Hope , Vic Damone and, I think, Scooter Rizzuto where spokesman For Fugazi. The word was like a tune that is constantly play in your head.
@@haroldbailey9011 nothing was “made up” Fugazi got popular because of the Film Donnie Brasco We were using it In My Culture for decades before that anyone who is a Real Italian Understands that Fugazi Is American Slang for Fake .. Even Before the Movie
@@Pacinomela yeah you’re mistaken I promise you. I’m born and raised in an Italian neighborhood in New York and it never existed. Watch the making of Donnie brasco with the director. He says they needed a word and they saw a laundry service or something with the name “fugazzi”. In Staten Island, there’s a high school football all star game called the “fugazzi bowl”. All anyone ever thought that meant was it was the name of the guy who the all star game was named after. Fugazzi ad in “fake” comes from the movie itself. Prove me wrong and show me proof. I’m always down to learn something new
“I only listen to my prick” lol 😂 that’s like me
This is, in an almost Shakespearean level, a beautiful story.
I cried at the end of the story the frienship of Donnie and Lefty in the movie was one of the kind!
Yet Joe said he had zero attachment to Lefty 😞
Sonny Black was the closet to Joe Jessica, have you not read the book? Sonny Black was supposedly.mudered by the Mafia but no body was ever found, just a set of teeth that the FBI said were Sonny's but according to dental records were not his. Think about it...
I have listened to this so many times I enjoy each time whether I’m in the bath or cleaning I just have it on in the background and it gets better each time and I can’t help but picture depp and Pacino
If you like this I recommend listening to 'Donnie Brasco, My undercover life in the Mafia'. It has loads of the original recordings that were made.
Thank You! :)
@kalico kat Me? or Paul Evans?
@kalico kat :-) That's Bingo, I adopted him
How much does it cost to download it?
@@captaincaveman2040 It's on UA-cam at the moment.
Fact is, Mirra started this beef in an attempt to claim Donnie for himself. Mirra was whacked less than six months after this call.
that’s crazy thanks for sharing
And he got whacked because of Donnie too. The irony.
Mirra was killed in 1982 a couple of years after this
His own cousin whacked him
They all wanted Donnie as their buddy so he can bring them money., a breadwinner. That's all it was.
"Do you understand what I'm talking about?"
"Yea I do"
"NO YOU DONT DONNIE!!"
😂😂😂
Donnie: “Oh I know...”
Lefty: “No ya don’t know! That’s the fucking trouble wit ya, ya don’t know!!
Its incredible. This is just like the movie. Credit to all the people that work in that movie
Drink every time lefty gets mad and says “Donnie!”
5 min in, drank asf
I wish people still talked like this.
Forget about it.
Joey Diaz
Dude, both Depp and Pacino nailed their character's voices!
“I didn’t drink. I drank a few drinks” 😂
That was intense. Lefty knows the entire time how he would expect Donnie to react to rockys claim, but Donnie never gets as heated as he should have. All lefty can do is reiterate his loyalty to Donnie in hopes of the same. All lefty has at this moment is his hope and faith donnies true and loyal. He should never even be in this position if he knows Donnie like he thinks he does. Donnie is lucky to be alive is an understatement.
Listening to them talk gives me a whole new love for Donnie brasco the movies Al Pacino n Johnny depp played there’s roles so perfectly to the dialect to the way they sounded Johnny n al genuinely sound like Donnie and left
Listening to these two and watching a movie are like watching an extended clip.
As a fan of the movie this is extremely interesting
@Tom Foolery It is me follow my Twitter @Femrocynical
Living that life was dangerous but it does seem like a very interesting and entertaining time to be alive
This is amazing. Lefty’s stuck between trying to keep Donnie for himself and knowing that it could mean his downfall...
