I’ve met jack carr on a hunting trip in Texas before and I didn’t even know who he was and ever since then I’ve been like wow I literally met an extremely famous person without knowing.
Jack is so amazing. I saw this in the show and heard him talk about it in the pod cast and boom it shows up in the recommends. So awesome!!! This guy is on fire
My dad passed on a beautiful FJ62 to me when I was 20 years old. It had been the family vehicle for 14 years at the time, with countless trips to the wild. I loved every second of owning it and did a few more trips with my friends, now as a young adult, before moving overseas 11 years ago. Last year they sold it to a couple. It's great to know that it's still alive and someone's enjoying it and taking care of it. These vehicles are legendary

@@Saint-Bedo if you haven’t read John Ross “unintended consequences” it’s a must. You’ll have to actually buy the book though. It’s the best 2a book ever written
I saw your post a few days ago, ordered the first book & now I’m going back & watching this video 😃 All because I’m a Land Cruiser fan because of your channel 😂
I'm so glad someone did a review on the 60! I was eager to find something on it after watching the show. I have a 1988 HJ61 (RHD, Turbo diesel, factory front and rear cable driven diff locks, heated driver seat, power sunroof, high roof) in the states while I'm stationed in Japan. Can't wait to get back home to it
Jack is awesome. I read all three of his books. Every time he brings up his past it’s like he’s hitting a memory of mine Can’t wait for the next book. Hopefully I’ll catch him on the road and get a signed copy.
What a beautiful vehicle and Jack Carr seems like a great guy. Saw him in Black Rifle Coffee’s “Veterans React to War Movies” series and he was hilarious. Good stuff.
Thanks Jack for your service - and thanks LLOD for continuing to put him on to hear more about his story. I am actually looking ofr a land cruiser right now, so this just blew up my head with the thought of the upgrade on the LS swap! total game changer
not worth it keep the original engine its not a racecar. its a tank. you lose reliability and durability, the things you buy a Cruiser for in the first place.
So a little late but had to throw in a comment. I have been following your channel for years and this is the first time I have come across this video (almost two years later). I just finished watching The Terminal List (amazon prime) with Chris Pratt and had no idea that it was based on Jack Carr's book! Christ Pratt's character actually drives a bad ass Land Cruiser...go figure! Thank you for your service Jack and for being a hell of a writer. And thanks for another great video Mike!
Dark Angel kit! Nice.. I've had one in my glovebox since taking the course years ago. This was an awesome walkaround..sounds like I need to read the books
Just bought the 4th Jack Carr book (“The Devil’s Hand”) today. Read (listened to) “Terminal List” & “Savage Son” over this past week. Yes, audiobooks! ADHD makes reading laborious to say the least. That LS3 looks better under an FJ hood than a Corvette. Room to work. When this version of the Land Cruiser (60 Series) was released in the U.S. purest (including me) complained about moving away from the more Jeep version. That view quickly disappeared as this more versatile Land Cruiser became an ICON.
Awesome video! All your content is amazing to watch and very inspiring. Jack is a good man and so are the rest of the men and woman who fight to keep us free🤙🏼 God bless you sir and keep up the good work!
God that thing is gorgeous. Buddy just finished his LS3 swap in his 2nd gen Taco and boy is it silly with the amount of torque. Cheers to another solid video Mike!
A former Marine speaking here, for the 3/4 Marines 1972, it seems to be a trend that the Seals from me era and forward develop merchandise and vehicles to make an ongoing career, hmmm!
I inhereted my dad's 65 FJ40 but my undeveloped brain got rid of it in 75(What a dumb ass I was then.). It is so cool that you have Jack Carr. Trying to read book 3 slow, but I can't. I'm wearing Salomon hiking boots because of Jack Carr.
Just wanted to let you and possibly jack know, I’m heading to the book store to pick this book up. Hearing y’all talk genuinely about love of gear and purpose use behind it is awesome, love the videos llod 🤜🏼🤛🏼
Dear Mr. Carr: you have a wonderful Sleeper of vehicle. As the conversation progresses. I think I will have to read your books as I’m into long range shooting. If look for me I’m the one with the permoble in blue.
I became a huge Land Cruiser fan because of Jack's books. An FJ62 or 60 is now one of my dream vehicles. Really enjoyed this video.
Can't say they didn't play a part in me deciding to pick up a 60...
Did you guys in America (Australian typing here) get the diesel or turbo versions of 60's series?

The 80 series is cool too. The Bruiser Cruiser as they call it in South Africa.
I feel this! Same exact reason I’m saving to make this my dream build!
