Glad to see the original engine still there, Clay. My 85 FJ60 is also original engine and drive train. It is a little slow but sometimes I don’t want to be in a hurry. Thanks to both of you for great content always.
Fantastic FJ62 Clay, well done! I've grown up with FJ series Landcruisers and Landrovers in the Zuuland Bush (KwaZulu Natal, South Africa) where my father was a Park Ranger ( called a Warden in the day here). A CJ2A also featured in the mix but anyway I have a deep affection for these classics and stil believe they are the most appropriate vehicles for remote overlanding due to their rugged, simple engineering. Much like the earlier Series Landrovers you could keep them running with basic hand tools and ingenuity. Great chanel, keep 'em coming please!
Where did he get the clear "Peace Love Land Cruiser" decal? The LC Heritage Museum sells a white one, but I would like a clear one for my tinted window.
Damn! that thing is amazing! i wish i had one on my channel that was that clean. I probably wouldnt ever drive it if it was that nice tho! come review on of mine!!! ha
Wait a second, I clearly watch enough of your videos to recognize you in public their for I’m a subscriber. Like every video I’ve watched. I waved and let you know by commenting. I could be a big fan but the only response I could get was from a little poke at your character. Hmm interesting. Why do you think that is? Have a great day
LED lights cant melt snow to cold. i would have 50/50 Halogen & LED. Just found a 1988 as nice as this for 28.5k i have a 89 Cherokee so im not in the Market.. Portland Craigslist 11/23/22 Time to sell our 1988 Landcruiser. Although it's now around 34 years old, this 'Cruiser runs amazing, smooth, strong and no rattles. It's running the original 3FE straight six, but I've upgraded to a brand new OEM H55 five speed manual transmission professionally installed by Land Cruiser Specialties, along with a professional transfer case rebuild. The suspensions was also upgraded to Old Man Emu all the way around. A lot of work has gone into this over the past few years, some done since I've owned, some from the previous owner. -New OEM H55 Transmission installed professionally -Transfer case rebuilt -New OEM radiator installed - New battery -New OME front and rear suspension with grazable shackles; steering stabilizer -New ARB front bumper - original chrome bumper comes with the car. -New Warn winch -Relatively new paint. This was done by previous owner. Looks good, especially at about 10 feet. It's been ceramic coated so really shines up. -Original chrome wheels with KO2's. KO2 on the spare as well. They look perfect. -Brake pads, hoses relatively new -LED headlights -LED interior lights, including added lights under the seats and in the footwells -New OEM tail lights, gaskets, side marker lights, -New AC compressor and converted to R134. It blows cool and now with the manual, you don't feel in the performance of the vehicle -New stereo with bluetooth and handsfree, pioneer speakers. There are still some projects left to complete: -Carpet. The carpet itself is in great shape, but needed to be cut to install the manual shifter. This was professionally done, however, there is a patch where the auto-shifter sat. This isn't an urgent fix but you'll probably want to do it at some point. I don't have the carpet, but do have sound deadening material that will come with the car. -Rear wheel wells. Rust spots have been fixed for now but will need attention at some point. -All windows work and as do the power door locks. I have a brand new OEM controller for the driver side, but never installed. -Rear heater doesn't work. Might be a fuse, but it didn't bother me so I never invested the time in investigating -Antenna will not go all the way down but works. That's about it. It's a great rig...whoever ends up buying will be super happy with it.
Thanks again for the walk around Mike! This Cruiser is also near and dear to my heart 😍

I remember my uncle bought one new, he was looking for a 4wd that wouldn't shake his beer up too much
Great video, thanks for sharing Clay's secret toy! I have an '87 FJ60 that I'm also "picking away at" so this one hits close to home for me.

Enjoyed seeing Clay. And the walk around.
You and all your buddies inspired me to get into camping last year. Keeping it going this year and also going to try to build up my xterra!
Very cool!
It’s so obvious but cruisers are always awesome.
Loving every minute of it. This is where my heart is. Overlanding with more classic rigs. Mine is a 96 burb

That is a Jurassic Park Land Cruiser. Looks beautiful.
Beautiful FJ62
Love the cruiser! But I think the most rare land cruiser would be the FJ50/FJ55
Nice! I am doing a chassis swap on my 86 HJ60 today!

That's my favorite model Land Cruiser, it just looks right.
I have the same headlights in my 379 peterbilt and they are bright!!
