@@cwillfrommd I like it when my dad buys them, gets them just broken in at 200k and I then get to buy a perfectly maintained cruiser at the family price!
For the ‘60 do what makes you happy. If you have good vibes telling you how something should be follow your gut. Thank you for the video and the promo. ! I enjoy watching you videos! May God bless you and you family!😁❤️
My vote is for you to follow through with your vision. Your builds always come out amazing regardless of personal preference. You bought the 60 for yourself not for your viewers so bring your vision to life and we will enjoy the content either way.
What a beautiful machine!!!! Absolutely love how this thing looks. Being a toyota guy for life, Mike has the best taste in rigs. His tacoma, 80 series land cruiser, and this FJ60 are all perfectly beautiful. The 80 is still my favorite land cruiser but can’t go wrong with any of his rigs. The wheels and tire choices look amazing on all his rigs.
I had an FJ60 that looked almost identical to that one back in the late 90s. Selling that rig was one of my biggest regrets in life. She's beautiful just the way she is, do as little to her as possible. Just scored one of the FJ60 patches! I was scared they would be sold out already!
I had an fj60 a couple of yrs ago and loved it. I put bigger tires on it and it was great but did not use it much. Sadly, I sold it to my brother. He still has it and also does not use it at all. I am considering buying it back from him again and this time utilizing it the way it should have been in the first place. Not much better out there today to go overlanding in and they are dependable as all get out. Nothing you can't do in them if they are kitted out right. Good luck with yours and put some vids out of you using in in the mountains and such.
So nice. I bought an '84 back in '94 and it was super clean. I drove it around Puerto Rico for two years (was in PR for work) and then sold for a really nice profit it when I came back state-side. I regretted selling it right away and still regret it to this day. Keep yours!
Light Tan FDE would be an awesome paint scheme for this. Throwback to all the old African Safari Landcruisers. I love these old Landcruisers! And I'm a true Blue Ford guy.
You can never have too many overlanding rigs! Toyotas rock! I had a 60 series (1984 BJ60, diesel Canadian spec, 4 cyl 5 speed and incredibly gutless). I liked the 60 series best, nice blend of retro/safari looking rig, then the 80 series grew on me (I like the brown you painted it, though I'd have gone more of a smokey brown, maybe satin finish). Maybe one day I'll get an 80 series. Though hard to justify, my 5.7 V8 Tundra CrewMax Off-Road rocks, got a Diamondback tonneau cover for it too, after seeing yours on your Taco.
I am looking to do an FJ60 or FJ62 in Silver. Upgrading the engine injection system to a Holley Sniper EFI and putting a centrifugal supercharger or turbo would make this a little better for all purpose use. That's my vision. Good thing is the FJ60 & 62 are gear driven, durable and simple.
Bro, 60’s are great! I own a 60, 80, Taco, and a 1st Gen 4rnr which are all built. Good to know I am the only guy who loves Toyota’s. And go quicksand and 35 KO’s. Thanks for sharing!
I really like the 60 series, but the brown on the 80 series is awesome! It is just unique and reminds me of a Sasquatch color! Those patches are SIC! Happy Holidays!
I had a 1977 fj with a strait 6, 4 speed. No roof, except a bikini top, but that thing was unstoppable in the Florida mud. So much torque and weight. Best off road vehicle ever. (IMO)
Always been a truck/off-road kind of guy, but never considered the land cruisers. You and Jack Carr have really turned me into a big fan of them. Hopefully one day an FJ60 will be sitting in my garage.
I’ve only had one Land Cruiser and it’s a 1987 FJ60. It’s my only vehicle. It could use a new paint job, and I’ll never put giant tires on it. I live in the mountains where it’s really cold and snowy, on a long long gravel road. It’s just the best truck I’ve ever had. A guy walked up to me at the post office recently and said, “I’ll give you 4 grand for that old Toyota.” I said if you double it, I’d think about it. Lol. I love the 2F engine, and I’m in Colorado too, but I never drive faster than 50. I’d like to get a 5 speed gearbox. Nice truck you got.
To me, white is such a great color. Especially white vehicle with black wheels. My 2020 Runner TRDORP is that same color and no matter how many I see I still think mine is the best. I would go the extra mile on the insides of the vehicle. Make it more comfortable for you since it’s kinda gonna be your “daily” driver. In a way. Kinda like you explained. Your gonna be getting groceries and maybe going to stores in it. So you wanna be comfy in it.
This was our family car growing and my Dad got into a street fight because it was so slow taking off the mark that it insulted the guy in his Suzuki Sierra behind us. Years later we dropped a 400 Chev in it. Our slow acceleration problems were gone.
Tuffy makes a slightly narrower box I have in my 1983 FJ60 with which I wheel the rubicon trail by me and use the brake no problem. Wagon gear makes great cargo area storage panels to access unused space inside quarter panels and tailgate. My 4x4labs rear bumper is super durable, tucks in tight and functional with multiple modular swing out options. Have fun with the 60.
60s and 80s are amazing. Love my 95 FZJ80. Someday will have a 60 as well. I prefer the front end of the 60 but the internals of the 62. Keep it white!
That’s a cool old truck and yeah, the bike rack is nice too. I love that brown color, reminds me of the M&M medium brown. I do like the idea of keeping this one “plain” like Jack Carr’s.
No one has to explain why they bought a Landcruiser...it's implied and understood automatically.
Mon hated it when dad spend 80k on land cruiser but it still running with original power train after 15 years and 400k miles.
@@cwillfrommd I like it when my dad buys them, gets them just broken in at 200k and I then get to buy a perfectly maintained cruiser at the family price!
Like asking why someone breathes. If you go overland, you go Landcruiser.
exactly! Shorter answer would be "cuz they're fucking awesome"
@@mountainstomarshes8966 Bingo!
FJ60 IS CLASSIC VINTAGE, NICE!
"Why did I buy it?" Because its fuckin cool, thats why
Haha!
You know, I never thought I needed an FJ60....until right now 😆
Haha!
Keep it panda!!
yeah and use the money for other mods
Black and white cruisers are where it's at...I have 3 in white.
@@bladeswelove that’s sick!!
White with TRD style stripes in black grey sliver just to break it up ??

You're talking about a classic rig...then leave it stock color, the rig speaks for itself. It's awesome...as are all your rigs
I agree. Beautiful rig.
Except those front seats. 🤮They look out of place. Don’t mean to be negative. Totally ruins the look for me.

🤣🤣🤣
They might be underpowered, but they’re bullet proof and that’s a trade I’d be willing to make
That’s a beautiful FJ-60. It’s my wife’s dream car. Lots of them here in Costa Rica. Thanks for the video!
Keep the 60 white! It's a classic look on it.
Boxy is beautiful! Great choice on the 60!
The fj60’s are where it’s at! I had a 1981 poop brown one lol. Way cooler than the 80’s if u ask me.
Love 80's Toyotas...I've had several. All 3 are beautiful rigs!
The round light ones look better in my humble opinion. Love it! The white looks great imo. Great pick. I also evolved into liking the 60.
The FJ60 looks tuff. Love it

The 60 series has the best body styling in all Land Cruisers!
I had an 83' FJ 60 and loved it. I now have a 2009 76 Series which is even way better. Oddly, the 60 and the 76 Series look very similar.
'Not everyone needs a bullet' limited run morale patch, please!
Nothing like a classic FJ60! Hang on to this one!

That 60 is beast. Dig the older rigs.
Sick rig. I have an 84' BJ 60, and someday I hope to have a 70 and 40. Then i can die happy.
I have the same White BJ60 and she has been with me for many years..love her..
It's simple, I see a llod notification and I click.
do it to it!

REALLY NICE 1984 FJ60. Can't wait to see what else you do to it. FJ60 is more beautiful.
The 60 would look amazing in the Toyota "cement grey" color.
Like the cement grey!
Congrats, I have a 77 FJ40 and love it!
I basically grew up in a 1985 BJ60. Great car, many good memories in it.
“I like the lights down low” feels like hit song. Make it happen.
I SAW AN ORANGE FJ60 HERE IN LOS ANGELES.....ITS BEAUTIFUL :D
Paint it like the Navy Seal novelist guy's - that champagne color is sick on these.
Nice to see the '84 60. It was my first car. Metallic brown over cream/brown striped cloth interior.
Keep them all. My dream truck is a 60 body with a triple locked 80 frame/axles and a 100 series 2UZ.
Pretty much an instant fan. I've been searching for a channel like yours. Good stuff sir.
Good man. Restoration is the better way to go rather than modification as with all classic cars. Keep it up
When I was a kid my dad bought one and dropped a Chevy v8 in it. Called it the landCrusher
Good old days
Light Tan FDE would be an awesome paint scheme for this.
Throwback to all the old African Safari Landcruisers.
I love these old Landcruisers! And I'm a true Blue Ford guy.
Keep the FJ60 White! It looks sweet, nice ride for sure!
I've always liked the look of the 60's. My dad had a tan 60 inbetween his 55 and 1st gen T4R.

Absolutely love it and your other vehicles as well . And as always love how organized and prepared you are . I need to do better .
Because they are awesome. My best friend in highschool had a blue one
Love this model Land Cruiser. Good buy and pick up.
Love the Cruisers the 60 series are cool in a square way. The interior is in great shape for a 60.

The Cavalry blue is a fantastic color for these rigs....I seen one on Vegas CL page....amazing color
I would paint that awesome V8 monster Forestry/Park Service green.
Nothing quite like a vintage, capable offroader. The 60 is a great example of that.
whatever you do, do not change the white color. love it. edit: IF you do change color it must be black or deep deep navy.
Oh man. That is a gorgeous 60!!
Love your FJ60, my bro has an 89 Diesel, manual.
What a beat. It's nice to change things up, not every build has to go all out. Sometimes a restomod is a fun project.
I love my 84 white as well. Rebuilding the Asian carb as I watch this vid. Nice rig
Follow your vision! Because look how rad the 80 is!

👍🏼 for the sound effects on the fire extinguisher
Bro, you have a Toyota problem like I have a Jeep problem. I rarely see a Jeep I don’t like. I do love the 60! Great find! Leave it like it is.
I like the stock color. Keep it white. That thing is awesome.

Had a 68 fj40... got talked into selling it...miss it. My Tundra is probably my ride or die unless something awful happens. Love the 60, Mike.

You're right the 1UP bike racks look the best and performance wise, are the best. Running mine 5 years already.
Matte white would be sick. The contrast with the bikes would be 👌🏼

My absolute favorite channel on UA-cam... for sure. Love the content... I hope Ash releases another video soon.
Love the 60!! 👍
Follow YOUR vision for YOUR truck. Curious to see what you turn out!
I love the boxy suv/truck style for sure
Love the V Engine sound/ swap ! Mine is just a 13BTD!
Put on the Wheel mud flares, they look Great !
That is one mean looking cruiser brah, love the 80s models👌🏻
I’ve wanted an FJ60 since about 1988;) But as I can only have one vehicle, a Tacoma will have to do, equipped with the 6 speed manual of course!
Brilliant set up. Love the simplicity and utility, esp. to support MTB'g.
Man i have 3 BJ60s, an HJ60 and an FJ55 350 swapped, even had a PZJ77 once! Its an addiction!
Great find, love the way the 60's look! Looks clean too.
Bring back the FJ80 patch!!
I would absolutey leave it as is comseticly Mike. She's got loads of character as she sits. JMHO.
Sweet new/old setup!
Thanks!
Man, that's Beautiful!
Super truck love it.the seats are awesome.
I like the 80 series, but i really love 60s and 40s series. Yours is really very nice.
So much potential with the 60 brother and those seats are sick! LLOD is always prepared.
Thanks Mike for replying about the mats thumbs up
60s and 80s are amazing. Love my 95 FZJ80. Someday will have a 60 as well. I prefer the front end of the 60 but the internals of the 62. Keep it white!
My ‘84 is the brown. Dad bought it in ‘87 and gave it to me in ‘04. If mine had been white I would have put the big UN on the doors. That’s classic.
That’s a cool old truck and yeah, the bike rack is nice too. I love that brown color, reminds me of the M&M medium brown. I do like the idea of keeping this one “plain” like Jack Carr’s.
Why did you buy it? Because it’s an FJ60. That’s why. No questions about it. So beautiful. Congratulations brother.
Bro I freaking love these walk arounds!
Also those seats really made your interior bro, they look absolutely sick!
Ranger green would be siiiick
Look up the old fj 55 “iron pigs” , now those are retro and beautiful cruisers!
I have one! 1971 just 350 swapped it! Its on my channel...
Man Im really digging those steelies on your 80, I picked up a 88 FJ62 been working on it for a year painted Hunter Green.
I like the look of it a lot. I like the idea of finding an old vehicle and just enjoying it...one day, maybe
