Your style of lessons/play through is my favorite method of learning songs. I hate learning chunks at a time. Much rather get a full play through in real time with the tabs and just pause when needed.
@@MaxNiessl to that I say....let's see a Buckethead cover....please???? I know u could pull it off, thatd blow some minds, are you even a fan? Of Buckethead? I just assumed for some, weird reason u would be
Its one of those riffs I've never been fully able to comprehend. I swear it feels like my brain short circuits when I attempt to make sense of the guitar riff specifically. I can almost play the entire song on bass, including the intro reasonably well, just not that break down yet, but on guitar I cant make sense of whats going on in that riff. I can't play it, not even close, i cant even make sense of it. Theres just so much going on and its subtle. Just totally unplayable for me on guitar. Its a little frustrating.
@@alexandermazilu7087 a very similar riff is at the end of Jacobs ladder by rush, I learned that one a while ago so this one was just developing the muscle memory

I’ve had troubles with learning this song for a long time but after I stumbled onto your video I finally managed to get it down, thanks for the videos man I plan on refining and learning so much tool with your excellent covers
1:49 I knew Adam Jones did that Jambi technique in Vicarious, too! Nice job, as always. It's a surprisingly tricky song to play. The intro melody is sick when it comes around the second time with dual melodies. Might re-learn this soon thanks to you and your tabs!
@@MaxNiessl is that true? Is there any of that multiple string "pull thru" technique in vicarious like in the intro and other parts of jambi? Cuz...I didnt see any....
MADD skills! Tool is so flippin complicated and I love talented musicians who make me feel inadequate. Saw them live in Jersey and still amazed at the performance. Idk what to call it but I will call it break down. You end the break down as an extended chord on the 12th fret (6:29). It should end on the 17th fret (as a extended chord). It bothers me when people don’t do that hahaha. Sorry man ;)
Thank you for mentioning that, Kris! I just checked the isolated track again and live performances. Very hard to hear on the isolated track. You're definitely right, glad to learn something new about those songs, I noted that in the description :)
