Scott Weiland is so underrated…. lyrically, vocally, his passion for performing, everything he literally embodies. Out of everything he’s ever done - this song is top five of all time for me. The fact he passed away 7 months after this video was released……. ugh. I wish he was still here. 😔 It was so sad to see what drugs and alcohol and depression did to him in the end. The bright star I was so used to seeing.. barely moving & barely singing. Ughhhhh Scott, I hope you’re at peace now 😭💔 miss you so much.
I have often contested that had he actually stayed with this band, he would probably still be alive. From my understanding the main reason that he distanced himself from them was so that he could keep using. The people that let him keep using were his solo band... Which sucked, in comparison, by every metric.
The chorus is good melody writing, but in general, this album is horrible song writing with some of Scott's weakest work from start to finish in my opinion. I think it's a super bad record.
I just did that🙂 found this searching alter bridge history and I'm like WHAT!! This is Scott.. AWSOME, hearing his voice at this time put a smile on me😎
Hell, I didn't know this even existed until yesterday! Just listening to the lyrics and vocals, the man still had it. It really is a shame how he became so volatile, drugs stole a lot of greats from us.
Scott refused to admit that he was a member of the band. He recorded the entire album and shot two videos, but didn't do any press or touring for the promotion. The rest of the band were suing him for breach of contract, but he died shortly after its release. No one even knew about the band.
Do I belong Do you belong It's a million nights that you packed your bags, walked out the door I know you said you'd try I know we both have cried But do we just lie awake in a bed at night with open eyes We kept the clouds at bay As we weathered the storm Let the wind blow us til the dust has gone It's so easy to see that we're falling Yet the light in your eyes keep on calling me Still a million eyes are still here We stare into our eyes hoping the lies Disappear forever yeah Things have changed They've made us strange All the feelings same Glide on through our own hallways Eyes through each other Ghost in an alley But do we both just lie awake In a bed at night with open eyes We kept the clouds at bay As we weathered the storm Let the wind blow us til the dust has gone It's so easy to see that we're falling Yet the light in your eyes keep on calling me Still a million eyes are still here Came so far And yet it seems so long Since that cold, dark night I'll always keep you warm We stare into our eyes hoping the lies Disappear forever yeah It's so easy to see that we're falling Yet the light in your eyes keep on calling me Still a million eyes are still here
This is most definitely my favorite song on this album the lyrics are so blaintly clear that he had so much time left in this world forget the video just listen to the words. It's so easy to see when we are falling. If the light in your eyes keeps us calling. Beautiful and poetic just like Morrisons American prayer. It kills me that so many ppl that I know that claim to be Scott Weilend fans and they never heard this album.
Scott always shied away from Art of Anarchy, focusing on the Wildabouts - but the more I keep listening- This band was so much better and also he seemed lucid still. I still think he was the greatest singer out of the 90's- excelling in any genre he chose. Only Chris Cornell was on a par with him. I just wish both of them were still around. =(
@@WVSOP91 Layne had a stronger voice for sure but didn't have the chameleon variety that Scott could sing. Both were excellent but at the end not so much
Even as damaged as he is, he's still so talented. He's also incredibly versatile across different rock n roll - his melody and lyrics make this a good song. Look at Velvet Revolver, they still haven't found a replacement - and no singer wants to fill those boots.
+Regular John He was the best. Literally. Whatever frontman or lead singer you can pick as "the greatest of his (or their, as the 60s and 70s had many great frontmen) time, Scott earned that mantle in the early 90s and held onto the belt until he died. Every group he was in became successful with him, and fell by the wayside without him. As much as I love the DeLeo brothers from STP, they are done, as far as STP is concerned. Bennington filled in pretty well for awhile, but I'm sure that if Scott's people had called after Chester split the group a few weeks ago, the STP guys would have had him back eventually. His talent level is 1.25 to 1.5 times higher than the likes of Eddie Vedder, Kurdt Cobain, Layne Staley, Brandon from Incubus, 4 times higher than the rest of the pack, like Brandon Flowers from the Killers, Coldplay's dude, and the list goes on.There is really nobody left now that holds the type of rock, alt-rock connection now that Scott is dead. Chris Cornell is an AMAZING vocalist (as was Scott), but he doesn't have the swagger, the fashion, or the rock star stage sensibility that Weiland possessed.Even Art Of Anarchy, that little group that Scott recorded with, then subsequently distanced himself from as soon as his recording duties were finished have a great album on their hands, but now have no future. This was a crappy loss for the last of an already decimated breed, "the rock Star."
+ZP Pierce Why don't your paragraphs get spaced as they were when you write your comments? This makes some responses look horribly un-grammatical and poorly written.
This is a great track, heard it when i was on my hols.... never been a massive fan of Weiland but always thought his voice was quite good just needed the right songs etc ...
Love this track and despite whatever Scott does - will tour or not with them - this album is destined to be a classic album. You never know. Scott could change his mind. Would be neat to see Scott Weiland & The Wildabouts and Art of Anarchy touring together but I can imagine that would be a drain on Scott and he doesnt need to get back into using. Addiction is a bitch and thankfully, Ive almost 3 yrs clean thanks to Suboxone
Wow this is totally different Territory for weiland but he totally pulls it off. And it's the best thing I have heard from Scott in years! Funny to notice that bumblefoot is in this band. Because he is with guns n roses. Also funny because slash and duff were in velvet revolver with Scott. So it came full circle. But this is killer!
V. Rvlvr wasn't a fit for him at all and he did too much counter tenor and not enough baratone. His range is better then any other in rock and he'd more talented IMO then any ever, hands down. Listen to Hotel Rio or any of his songs with Weiland and the Wildabouts.
This song and album should have been a lot bigger, the Wildabouts were good , but this was better... “things have changed they made us strange” amen to that especially these days....RIP to Scott, u were one of a kind
Just imagine what this could have been if he had put heart into it and actually wanted to be a part of this project. As is, it is very interesting and somewhat catchy. Has its flaws due to lack of preparation, but he was a natural. R.I.P. to one of my huge vocal influences.
I think there’s something really lacking in charisma/vibe about the drumming and the verse music here. The chorus is great but the rest sounds kind of unfinished.
Scott Weiland way better than Scott Stapp. It is funny both were accused in 90's of being a Vedder imitators. For me, Weiland is a chamaleon so talented and imitated Vedder in Plush, Cobain in Creep, Layne, Axl Rose, Dylan...but he developed his own voice and personality and he is so good. Stapp is a Vedder imitator all his career...only a few good tracks.

😭😭😭😭😭 oh this made me cry
Scott Weiland, Scott Stapp, Jeff Scott Soto... Bumblefoot seems to enjoy having a Scott singer

Hi, my name is "Scott" Amri Al-Fatih Haikal from Indonesia. Please hire me as your singer, Art of Anarchy. I have bring the scott in me name.........

This is a hidden gem, very underrated , I always liked this, as close as we ever got to velvet revolver again. Scott’s voice is legendary!
Although you're gone, you're music still lives on. Thank you for this beautiful song.
The overproduced instrumentation with raw and sincere vocals and lyrics...wow that's genius!
Scott creating those amazing melodies right until the end. RIP 🙏

Do I belong
Do you belong
It's a million nights that you packed your bags, walked out the door
I know you said you'd try
I know we both have cried
But do we just lie awake in a bed at night with open eyes
We kept the clouds at bay
As we weathered the storm
Let the wind blow us til the dust has gone
It's so easy to see that we're falling
Yet the light in your eyes keep on calling me
Still a million eyes are still here
We stare into our eyes hoping the lies
Disappear forever yeah
Things have changed
They've made us strange
All the feelings same
Glide on through our own hallways
Eyes through each other
Ghost in an alley
But do we both just lie awake
In a bed at night with open eyes
We kept the clouds at bay
As we weathered the storm
Let the wind blow us til the dust has gone
It's so easy to see that we're falling
Yet the light in your eyes keep on calling me
Still a million eyes are still here
Came so far
And yet it seems so long
Since that cold, dark night
I'll always keep you warm
We stare into our eyes hoping the lies
Disappear forever yeah
It's so easy to see that we're falling
Yet the light in your eyes keep on calling me
Still a million eyes are still here
