So fundamental. I'll come back to this many times, for sure.
did u?
Speak the truth, and play fair... words to aspire to..
Thanks for posting these, stranger.
You are so right 🙂🙏
"Talk about what you know". That should mean no more analogies involving quantum physics.
Socrates in a nutshell.
"And if we are fortunate what we philosophies, and what we have made articulate, and what we have dramatized, what we have acted out, and what’s at the base of our social and biological nature are all the same thing.
And then we have got it right
And that is what we have done in the West"
I've been trying to articulate the reasons why I believe what I believe and this is it. The West was built on Christianity. Sure many times Christianity was twisted and used to justified horrible things, but at the base off Christianity, in its fundamental meanings/truths, that haven't been twisted to suit a situation. Seems to be the best way to act in the world
Miss him.
There are so much truth in this.

Brilliant insight into how we can make immigration work. A non-xenophobic analysis that amounts to the need for immigrants to integrate into the culture they are now beneficiaries of. I've seen this for myself working with asylum seekers & refugees in Australia. Unless integration is achieved there will be conflict. Note: this is an argument for integration as opposed to assimilation which would require them to abandon aspects of their own culture which are not a threat to or opposed to the culture which they now inhabit
well the question is if every culture wants to assimilate - I think we should not assimilate strongly religious cultures into more progressed societies (statistically nonreligious areas are more technologically and morally advanced - research before arguing). There needs to be less blind empathy and more selectiveness on how we decide to progress with our laws IMO - no government survivance buy more of you need to follow social conduct to participate.
@@agatainventio9464 You're talking about some dystopian, "Psycho-Pass" type shit my guy.
Love this talk and agree with him on most of the points. Only question is: what if we chose a country to be is because there we thought individuals have the equal right to participate in the society rule making collectively?
If that person recognises fair play(like equalily of oppertunity). They are likely capable of fair play, and won't infect the place they've come to with the unfairplay-ideas( like sharia law). Like Jordan said: Decent people will have to form a bridge between different religous cultures. This in order to formulate broad society issues. If we don't communicate across we won't even be able to formulate the issues let alone solve them.
There are definitely solutions that are preferable to others. The ability to discriminate and even mix ideas from various ideologies, philophical ideas, social and historical events can all help us come up with preferable ideologies... And this can make all the difference... Michel Foucault's interest in power struggles is incredibly helpful because it teaches people that they can alter the world if only from recognizing how often changed have occured through history and why...
It's equally important to have a variety of examples to demonstrate the Knowing. And an art to know how to pack & unpack information & how the pieces fit into the puzzle frame by examining them before hand. Of course travel with the God given intelligence whatever level you have achieved. JP's is right next to his creators or very near by.
sounded like he was gonna cry a few times
Vascillating between nihilism and totalitarianism seems true. The more becoming of one the closer we get to the other
You either have the nerve to play identity politics or you don't. Nevermind the tactics ,humor, aggression, sex, or violence. Fortune favors the bold. That's arguably what led to the success and envy.
Nerve is an interesting word to use. Maybe evil would be better.
I'm somewhat shocked at the idea of trying to understand who was in the right/wrong in the cold war conflict. It's like looking at two animals getting ready to fight for domination and territory and wondering which one is right.
I see it in terms of a system bug where one command (dominate) has accidentally managed to overwrite self-protection protocol because human monkey gained access to weapons of mass destruction which was not envisioned by mother nature.
I remember well the threat of nuclear war. I'm in his age group.
and i found myself here for some strange reason ...wow
*To me the question of identity is a clear evidence for God existence, everyone has a God,some worship money, politicians, their forfathers, nature, themselves, pleasure, science, technology and some worship the One God the Creator and the Sustainer of everything that exists.*
I don’t know anything...
I’m being risky in saying this but is possible the the God’s Elect God talks about is the elect that will rule with Christ , and bring all humanity to repentance also bring Justice ,
We can see how God was the one controlling Pharos every time he had agreed upon freeing his people but God harden his heart every time and every time God Sent a plague,
God was with his people the whole time
And took them we’re they needed to go
I love God he is beautiful and amazing

Does Anyone know why Jordan comes across so melancholy in this speech?
Dane Lederer I think that’s just his way of being vulnerable; or coming off that way.
because he is internally analizing this for himself in the moment in *this* moment in his life. He is in every sence of the word at a height of arousal. asrousal in this case to meaning "Arousal is the physiological and psychological state of being awoken or of sense organs stimulated to a point of perception." He is self reflecting and giving that perseption, his perception, to an audience..
his message - his intent in giving the speech, his selfawareness to the gravity of the topic he brings to the light and exposes... that is why
@@lucinalee2168 thanks for the input, I can certainly appreciate that.
Sometimes truth is melancholic i think
God is Good and gives everyone the opportunity for redemption ❤️that is something all humanity should turn their attention to, is everyone not his children? He created everything for him , “I am the LORD, and there is none else, there is no God beside me: I girded thee, though thou hast not known me: that they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me. I am the LORD, and there is none else. I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.”
Isaiah 45:5-7 KJV
“and to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:”
Ephesians 3:9 KJV
26:43
That last bit. NZ is bicultural/multicultural = Maori culture + a montage of others where all are equal (or something)?
He has his emotions under control....most of the time and he probably is always in deep thought, even while talking
Underlying Peterson's argument is republicanism. He is very republican. But this is very dangerous because it is against individual identity.
It is like Maori saying Maori culture is the best because blah blah blah and we should all follow that. This type of attitude creates Nazis.
I love Jordan Peterson but this is not innocuous, what he is saying here.
How do you consider it as truth if you are not able to describe it objectievly?
What do you mean?
that is why the truth tends to be acted out objectively before it even began to be seen in our dreams, which maybe later appear in our thoughts
Because the truth is not an object.
Truth is not objective. It is subjective. We can only aspire to speak truthfully. Your spoken truth is not neccesarily true to others. It may be the only way individuals truths may allign with yours and feel in harmony towards each other. If we Lie, theres no harmony even if we would lie to share a truth.
What is truth? Is it your individual perspective of truth? Is it a collective experience of truth? Its both.
@@exymify science is true weather you accept it, like it or not. What you describe there is an opinion.
