- Program the key fob to unlock and lock doors. This is done on a 1999 Toyota landcruiser 100 series. Thanks to details from ih8mud.com member Lowbudgetlc100 for the instructions.

o my locks were weak after the 3rd lock/unlock. i did it manually on the driver door.
this is how i did it.
close all doors and open the driver door.
using power door lock on driver side lock all door then manually unlock the driver door
put the remote key in and pull out
lock and unlock the driver door 5 cycle with you hand
close the door and open the door
lock and unlock the driver door 5 cycle with you hand
put the key in turn it "on" position then off and remove
the car should cycle a lock and unlock
press lock and unlock at the same time for 1 second. when releasing press lock again and hold it for 2 seconds.
close driver door and test the remote.
Your halfway door close at 1:34 had ruined my first attempt :D. But it works after 3rd tries. Thanks for your video
Thank you this video helped us to programme the keys for the automatic locks for the doors, however we had to do another routine to code to the immobiliser, which was just as easy to follow but from a different video.
I am so happy because between the 2 videos we have managed to save our selfs over £200 for 5 mins work/effort on what the Toyota dealer wanted to charge for a new key and coding.

you are a HERO! I could not get my 01 4runner into the pairing mode to accept the fob. Using this manual cycle idea made it go in to the pairing mode and my fob paired perfectly. worked first try!

Thank you so much! Worked perfectly on my 2000 LC. This was the only method (manually actuating the lock) that would program my key.
2002 Sequoia. Have your master Toyota key at hand (black key)
1. Insert black programmed key into ignition.
2. Press and release accelerator pedal 5 times within 15 seconds of inserting key into ignition.
3. Press and release brake pedal 6 times within 20 seconds of step 2.
4. Remove black key from ignition switch.
5. Insert new unprogrammed key into ignition within 10 seconds of step 4.
6. Press and release accelerator pedal once within 10 seconds of step 5.
7. Once these steps are performed properly you will see the immobilizer warning lamp begin to flash and after one
minute the lamp will stop flashing. Once the immobilizer warning lamp stops flashing you will have ten seconds to insert an additional key to be programmed.
8. Within ten seconds of inserting key into ignition press and release accelerator pedal once.
9. Immobilizer warning lamp will flash and after one minute the lamp will shut off.
Worked like a charm for me....can't believe they try to charge so much for so little! 2002 LC

Question: this was the only solution that I found that got me into the programming mode BUT fobs aren’t programming 😢. Any idea why?? They were cut at Toyota dealer (but they are official Toyota master keys cut at Toyota but they didn’t program the buttons 🙄).

So just a clarification. When done pressing the lock button on the new fob immediately close and open the door or it doesnt take the programming. At least that's what I spent 15 minutes figuring out. Thanks

Why did you get a new key fob and where did you get it? My factory key fobs wont lock the door but will unlock them sometimes, the signal seems non existent for the lock button but suspect the buttons are old. I’ve seen some on Amazon but I’m not sure what’s needed to make an Amazon key work after cutting is
You left out the last step. After holding lock for two seconds, the last step is to shut the door, then you can test to see if it worked. Do it any sooner and you fail to link the fob.

I can’t seem to get it. My truck gives me the “lock / unlock” to show its ready… but when I press the buttons on my remote I get no response. Tried over 50 times now ahhhh

Everything works and my car locks and unlocks automatically but nothing happens when i press the keys on the fob. literally nothing. Might be a faulty fob ? I changed the batteries recently the red light comes on but idk why it doesn’t work

Nope I gave up; I read somewhere that not all models will program even if u get the steps and the car responds to it. Probably gonna need a mechanic to program it but I've lost my key fob since.
Mine is a GXR 6 cylinder petrol for reference

I was using the unlock/ lock switch. The actuators are slow and this caused enough delay for locks too not allow programming to work. Manually moving the lock fixed this. Hope it helped.
thanks man but i think i found what the problem is
the car key is from a later version of the car and it transmits in different frequency. The transmitter inside the car probably detects it but i rejects it due to that
