@@Liz.Newton Well thank you very much Liz. I think this is a terrific song. Good to see Ellen out there running. Wish I could as well but... reasons. God bless y'all!!
She has come a long way from the little girl who had to be dragged out of the sound booth to sing one song. I guess a semester at Cambridge ( or was it Oxford) and the years of work that earned the honor will do that.
With all the evil in this world currently the last 4 years, It is a breath of fresh air to listen to some of the best musicians I have ever heard. It gives light in the darkness and hope.
A great song and beautiful words! It’s a midnight festival here in Finland today and the sun doesn’t go down, but it reminds of the day when light never fades away but the Son will be our eternal light ☺️.
You guys say you're just "average musicians" (which I'm not buying), but y'all have some amazing song writing skills! If I didn't know this was an original, I would've been scouring the internet wondering how I had never heard such a great song. Well done!

Nice thought. Perhaps the song that would fit is 'After The Goldrush' the Neil Young classic. Geordie band Prelude had a UK chart hit with their version of it - Irene Hume is stunning on lead vocals.
You all always look like you are so for each other (Family). Am I getting that right? The way you smile at each other when your playing, so refreshing.
Julianne, what an amazing job you have done singing this beautiful song written written by you, Katie and Johnny with beautiful harmonies from Katie and Matt plus the musical magic of the band including your mandolin, the amazing Emmett on the Dobro, Katie's fiddle, Mom on the bass, Matt on the guitar and a wonderful solo by Ellen on the Banjo and check out the funny outro at the end, Ellen can really run for a new Mom. It's just perfect, including the inspirational lyrics, and I love it!
I am older things upset me cant do what i use turn on the news really get bumbed out then watch this group and get in a better mood great music wonderful people
What a great way to start the weekend: with an upbeat Petersen original. I really like it! And my goodness-good for you Ellen. That's some light footed running at the outro. Macy's calling!
The Petersens are a must see, when you are in Branson, Missouri. Each one with their own unique voice, but yet come together with awesome harmonies. Great family and lots of talent.
Another great original song destined to become a bluegrass classic! Also very catchy; already on the second listen it stayed in my head all morning! Sung well by Julianne as lead vocal, but with Katie and Matt's harmonies it reaches very high levels! Not to mention the a cappella ending: absolute perfection!!! 🎶 The solos, as always, are beautiful; I really appreciated Julianne and Ellen's, perhaps because you don't hear them often. Speaking of Julz: her mandolin technique is improving day by day. Then, the key change with the entry of Emmett's solo is truly special. In short: another masterpiece! ❤
1. Julianne's voice is so perfect for this song 2. Wonderful job, Katie and Emmett on this one. Hit it out of the ballpark 3. Everyone - I think that is some of the best instrumental solos each of you have ever done. Tremendous!
Now don't get me wrong I LOVE your playing and think you are all very talented musicians, BUT I JUST LOVE LOVE LOVE when you guys harmonize a cappella! The end of this is just GORGEOUS!
I am so glad to finally see this one posted on UA-cam. At the Hot Springs Village performance, I remembered hearing an original song by Julianne that I thought was the best one that she has written so far. I was wondering when we would finally see it here. Yea!
Loved Matt's guitar work at the introduction and Julianne's mandolin solo, and Katie and Julianne and Matt singing together at the end, and everything in between is top-notch as well. As usual, everything more than well done by the Petersens, bluegrass for everyone.
Magnificent, as always. You all achieved world class status back in 2020 with your second CD (that I was aware of at the time). You've toured parts of the world at least twice. We're very fortunate that God provided ya'all for the world to enjoy. I'm very blessed to have discovered you during a random search for Bluegrass Music in 2019!😊😊😊 It was a 2015 video of your family performing in a Branson Chamber Of Commerce event.
Oh yeh! Look at Julianne go on that little mando! Wow. That is so good. You guys are putting oomph and feeling into what you sing and play and your songwriting is outstanding. I smiled all the way through this one ...
I remember a video where Julianne was so little she didn’t play yet but was onstage anyway dancing her sweet heart out. Can’t wait to see the next generation doing that in a few years!
You are an integral part of the inner family in my heart. Thank you for the strength to survive the past years of change in the world. You also give me hope that everything will be OK. Best wishes from east coast of germany, Bernd😉
This is so beautiful. We had a great time seeing you guys this Tuesday & Thursday; you're the main reason we drove all the way to Branson from Arizona. Thank you so much!! (Matt's #1 fan lol)
I’ve been listening to the Petersons all day while I worked. And now an original!! You guys are awesome in every way! And your music is pretty awesome too!
I've always loved songs about hope. And this one is magnificent! And the collaboration with Johnny Meyer was a perfect match. By applying his colors he managed to embellish perfection. I love his style! 🤩👏👏👏

*LYRICS - Morningside (Original)*
------------
I have seen the daylight fadin'
I have faced the eventide
But tomorrow I'll be goin'
Over on the morningside
Over on the morningside
If the wind of sorrow takes me
On the wings of love I'll fly
Till I come to rest so sweetly
Over on the morningside
Over on the morningside
When the midnight hour tarries
Shadows seep into my mind
I know the darkness can't be carried
Over on the morningside
Over on the morningside
Oh morning dove, I hear your song
"Remember, lift your eyes"
You sing of where my soul belongs
So I will sing as I rise
There's a sacred sanctuary
Where a ray of hope resides
With a candle brightly burnin'
Over on the morningside
Over on the morningside
I have seen the daylight fadin'
I have faced the eventide
But tomorrow I'll be goin'
Over on the morningside
Over on the morningside

Makes me wanna go drive the Ozark Mountain Highroad and go to Silver Dollar City. There are so many songs I would love to hear you play.
@@Liz.Newton can you ask the Petersen's to do a vid of the balled of John and Becky? We need Julianne veriosn of it!
Can I get the sheet music for this? This seems like the right mood for a celebration of life.
Julianne has been *working* on that Mando and it shows. She is also embracing her amazing and unique vocal timbre. Bravo!

Truth! "Average musicians" can't play the Dobro, the Mandolin, or flat pick a dreadnought guitar! Bluegrass musicians are NEVER average.
The Petersens have such good family vibe that they provide entertainment beyond performing the song.
True. I just did that 😅 Searched the internet for the original song.
I love Julianne’s voice in this. She has the perfect voice for bluegrass.
That there are over 800,000 subscribers to music like this gives me hope in the world.
Nothing better than family harmony
Julianne's mandolin playing has gotten MUCH better and more confident over the years!
Last chorus a-capella was super strong! Would like to hear more a-cappella!
They sprinkle it through, especially last verses, but - to tide you over - here's a couple of pure a cappella...

Yes, all are family except the dobro player, and he is a close friend.
