It doesn’t matter if it’s major or minor what matters is its position. You can have a major cord after minor that’s lower than the minor and it will give a sadder effect. There’s a masterclass talking about it

boutta learn all of them, i need to take this seriously now. i feel so limited without music theory. and it slows me down so much trying to find the right notes to fit the chord i imagine hearing in my head

You can always change the key of a melody or a chord progression. It won't sound exactly the same but the same feeling should be there. I hope this helps.
