While this is a cool basic learning video, the problem is when you say things like 3rd, 5th, major or minor to the beginners watching this video, in my experience they don't understand. They aren't going to know that a 3rd is either 3 semi-tones or half steps for a minor and 4 for a major. They also aren't going to recognize the 5th being a 3rd above the previous 3rd but that 3rd could also be 4 for a minor and 3 for a major. I think basic music theory is fundamental and practicing scales and chords can help you flawlessly not only move around a keyboard but if you just want to compose and not be fluent on the piano it will help with your clicking and dragging and not needing to use the stamp all the time. I write cinematic, film score, soundtracks, ect... and only started around 3 years ago but already have had work published in films. Anything is possible if you put the work in. I did this by contributing 3-5 hrs a day in self study, practicing and doing the things I mentioned. I just put up a soundcloud if you care to listen to my type of compositions.
