  • GCSEs are notoriously tricky and are a massive challenge for any student. That being said, there are a few ways that life can be made easier. As someone that got all 9s, I can tell you it is not because I'm ridiculously smart, but because I found out how to work smart not hard. So in this video I share a few ways that I did this, and which you can too. Whether you're trying to get all 9s or just boost a few grades here and there, this video will do you a favour.
    Let me know your thoughts down below peeps.

      And ,Do you have any ideas on how to plan the time revising. for all the subjects ? I think despite , knowing most of the content. it's hard to keep a balance between everything . It would be great have any advice from you

    • @LewisSeal
      @LewisSeal  4 місяці тому

      I'm happy to hear it's made some sort of an impact! In terms of balancing everything, I think the point I'm making with time allocation is to not... balance everything. Some subjects you will find easier than others, even if not subjects there will at least be certain modules that you're much better at. As a result you should be able to dedicate more of your time to the stuff you fin really tricky. If you're really good at biology and it comes naturally but find Geography really tricky, then rather than doing 2 hours of revision for each of them, you might be better off doing 3 hours of Geography and only 1 hour of Geography- this will be a better use of your time. Hope that helps :)

    Hi this is really helpful! Thanks for the great tips. Would you say I have enough time to get grade 8s/9s if I start revising now? I'm currently working at 7s across most of my subjects.

      The sky is the limit my friend, keep plugging away and you can get it. It's one of those things where if you really give it you're all to get all 9s, even if you don't quite get it you'll still be looking at 7s, 8s and 9s which are superb results anyway!

    hey, could you make a video on what you recommend to do when transitioning from year 11 to year 12 ? Many people say it's a drastic change, and i really wanna be prepared. Thank you!

      Yeah that's a cracking idea matey. I'm currently getting destroyed by exams but once I come out the other side I'll definitely do something like that in time for summer! Good news for you is that you can enjoy that summer and don't need to do all that much preparation :)

    So any advice for english mainly english lang , strategy so far is writing my teacher a bunch of essays to figure out what it is i need

    • @LewisSeal
      @LewisSeal  4 місяці тому

      Hello Jordan mate. English language is a muggy subject, I found that what worked best for me was coming up with plans for essays rather than actually doing them. So if you get up an extract from a past paper, time yourself and see how quickly you can come up with ideas for it because the essay itself is just pulling that all together. I found writing essays was a bit of a waste of time, I could try doing 4 or 5 essay plans to different questions in the same time it took me to write one whole essay, then see what the teachers thought about the plans and whether they were any good or just absolute waffle. Felt like a better use of my time

    Hi , Ive got mocks in a month and I am going to apply these tips. After my mocks though I have only 2 months left to to my gcses. Is that enough time for all 9s? Im currently working at one 7 (german) and 9 8s and 9s

    • @LewisSeal
      @LewisSeal  5 місяців тому +2

      Given how close you are I definitely think you can. As much as all 9s would be great though, really, if you can bump that 7 up then you're laughing- all 8s and 9s would be superb, getting all 9s is more for vanity. Something to bear in mind as well, if you put in a shift over the next few months, then you can put your feet up for about 3 months doing nothing. Already great level to be working at though pal, keep it up- I'd love to hear how mocks and the real things go! Good luck bud :)

    Hi, I just have one month left for my exams and I am aiming for 8*/9*s. I am currently working on 7/6s for most of my subjects. Would I be still able to work less to get higher grades or put more effort into it? Thanks

    • @LewisSeal
      @LewisSeal  3 місяці тому

      With only a month left I think it might need to be a bit of grind I'm afraid. Can certainly bump up the grades though if you do throw a load of effort in and employ the right strategies. I've said to a few people that if you go for all 8s and 9s and go from 6s and 7s to 7s and 8s then you've made a huge improvement anyway!

    Hey! Just out of curiosity, what subjects did you take for your GCSE's ?

    • @LewisSeal
      @LewisSeal  4 місяці тому +1

      So I had the compulsory ones at my school (Maths, English Lang and Lit, Triple Science) then I chose Spanish, Econ, History, Geography, and Religious Studies. Then because they thought I needed to become more of a neek I had to do further maths to top it all off. AQA were the bane of my existence.

      @@LewisSeal I do geography and econ too. Could you please give any tips to get a 9 in econ ? I feel like it’s more commonly taken for A level, so there aren’t many videos on how to improve on it. Thanks so much!!

    • @LewisSeal
      @LewisSeal  4 місяці тому

      Econ was all in the evaluation for me, I thought the points themselves were actually quite repetitive (so try and find analytical points that are quite common across topics so there's less to learn). For the evaluation (which I found harder) I think your best just repeating essay plans. You can get so many more essay plans done in the time it would take you to actually write the essay that it seems like a better use of your time. If you can nail essay plans then the essays themselves are just about fleshing it out and gaslighting the marker to think you're some next level academic- that's what I did anyway!

      @@LewisSealDo you have any tips for Geography?

    • @LewisSeal
      @LewisSeal  4 місяці тому

      Geography is an interesting one. I think you've got to approach it on layers of importance. Get all the basic stuff down first like the key processes to the point where you would be comfortable giving a top 4-6 mark answer. Then you can start adding some of the niche layers from case studies into answers. It's easy to lose the forest from the trees in Geography because of how much information there is, but once you nail all the basic processes and facts, then you can go into more details on the case studies so you can take it to an 8 or 9 level

  • @-i2641

    are these applicable to a levels by any chance? xd

    • @LewisSeal
      @LewisSeal  3 місяці тому

      I found that they did help at A level but needs a hell of a lot more focus at A level because it's much easier to pinpoint weaknesses at GCSE than it is at A level I think... and even easier to get complacent!
