Basically, do the following if you wanna get all 9s:
1. Do every single past paper available, even other exam boards. Do topic specific exam questions to for areas you are weak in
2. Make flashcards of definitions and content
3. Explain stuff to others. With your friends, family, or yourself.
Also you got to be disciplined. You gotta sacrifice some things. Some free time.
If you really wanna get them top grades, structure your days and week so you are following a routine.
No the problem is I'm not feeling the pressure right now and I need it
I hear you bro. But that may be a strength. You don't have the stress of exams which tend to slow people down and cause them to overthink. For you, I would just say be timetable revision, don't rely on motivation and shit.
Just have like blocks of revision, and tell yourself no matter how tired you will do it. Then it doesn't matter whether you feel pressure or motivated.

Something I find really helpful when doing past papers is playing exam hall ambience, there are videos on youtube, then im more used to the noises and stuff when I get into the exam and feel less anxious.

Im taking my A levels. I coasted through my GCSES did no revision and got 7's so it was fine. Im struggling with A-levels tbh. What do you reckon i can do. I dont do revision and get d's and C's. Just see that work as revision. It will be extremely useful. Now if you don't know the content and actually need the time, then your just gonna have to sacrifice something else.

You know maths, ed excel specifically, when i revise the topics form like maths genie i’ll be confident in the practice questions etc especially the 8/9 topics but in the actual exam, the first half of the paper is literally waffle?😭 like i don’t understand what it’s asking me to do unlike the questions at the end where they’re short and straight up i pretty much lose half of the marks or even more because of the first half of the paper. Thanks for the comment. It means that your weakness is those areas.
Do those questions as much as possible. If you really cannot understand what they are asking, then look at the mark scheme. If you still don;t understand, then try searching on youtube for like exam paper walkthroughs. So if you did the 2020 paper 1, just search that on youtube to get explained solutions.
If you can't find any solutions, ask your teacher.
So basically rinse them questions, over time you will just get better. Lmk if you have any other questions

Yea I hear that. English is a super tough one, and I def struggled with it
It depends on what exam board you had. With my exam, we had a selections of poems and proses and I think like two of them would come up. So there were a limited number of Qs that could up.
So I would just make essay plans on every possible question. We also did Inspector Calls, so I did it for that too. Basically just essay plans for everything is what I recommend.

For geography, everything is pretty much definitions and processes.
So I just made loads of flashcards. Small ones for definitions. Bigger ones for like processes.

can i use premade anki flashcards used by other people theyve made them concise and well written and just need to memorise it. Secondly what should i do once ive marked the past paper?
I have never tried premade, but it would definitely be a good idea tbh as you are on limited time. Just take others sets and use them.
Once you marked a paper, identify which questions you lost the most marks on. Usually, each question in a past paper is about a specific topic (eg a qusdtion about the circulation system). So if you lose mark in a specific question, then you know which topic you are weak. Go revise that topic using flashcards, do exam questions on it.

hey man, this was a great video and i really liked it. but i am having some problems in focusing for my gcses. although i am predicted quite good grades, i keep getting distracted by things like instagram reels or youtube shorts but i have no idea how to stop watching them. every time i sit down to study or do work for a good hour or two, i get distracted and watch this content and waste another day and it's getting to the point where i realise that it's bad but i don't care enough. i want to get all 9s, but i want to stop watching this short form content, but then at the same time i dont. also this is on my PC and not my phone. i am not addicted to my phone, but i am addicted to watching this content on my computer. any tips to help me reduce this? sorry for taking time out of ur day if you decide to respond to this.

I used to have the same thing for youtube shorts. After a study session, I would go on youtube and watch videos. And it would end up being like 30 mins later. It's easy to do that because after that session, you are kinda tired and worn out from the studying.
To stop doing this, I literally just made it a rule, that once I am finished with a study block, I will instantly get up and just walk around my room for a few mins. This jsut gives me time to think and relax my mind, instead of flooding it with short form content.
If you are getting distracted while you study, it is just a matter of getting rid of those distractions, and being more disciplined. If you can, make a separate user on your PC just for studying, and don't sign in to youtube or anything. This will make it less attractive. You can also download extensions for Chrome that block loads of youtube distractions.
You also need to be disciplined. Tell yourself that you have a task to do, and there is nothing else that you will do during that time.

I had exactly what you have. If you see my "How i got all 9s in GCSEs", I had these fat flashcards. On the back of the flashcards I would have a selection of questions.
If already have loads, I would keep them. You can make a few small flashcards solely for definitions, but definitely still use those fat ones.
I would recommend using the fat ones when you want to cover a weakness. Lmk if you have any other questions bro

Yea man. If you really have forgotten. But you don't need to go into to much detail, because as you go over them you will start to remember the content. maybe just watch some vids.

If I were you, I would focus only on making flashcards on the stuff you really don't know about. Like the topics you struggle with.

But basically:
MATHS: Past papers and textbook questions. Thats basically all there is to it
SCIENCES, GEOG, CS: Flashcards for content revision, topic specific questions to cover weaknesses, exam papers to find weaknesses and for detials.
ENGLISH: Idk man i hated english. I would say read for sure. Like just read about an area you are interested in. That will help you build a good set of vocab. Create lots of essay plans.

You just gotta go through them bro. Go through some (maybe spend 20 everyday) going through your stack. Every time you get one wrong, put it to the side, and go over it a few mins later. Go over the ones that you get wrong more frequently, and reduce the frequency of the ones that you find easy (maybe do them once a week).

The problem is that I did not study under the Cambridge program and only this year I transferred to another school. In six months I caught up with the program, now I practice. Problems with physics and mathematics mainly. All good luck and patience, I'm a little anxious.

im not sure if you reply but something im really struggling with is time management. i feel as tho i have got everything in the bag, been revising lots and past papers etc but i STILL have lots of free time. this half term ive had like 4-6 hours of free time despite revising and its making me conscious that i might not be doing enough. just really need a different opinion on this because i feel like its beating my confidence down… i might have lots of free time because i dont do much extra stuff outside of school but in my free time i kind of just go on my phone. should i be occupying myself and revising more???
That's interesting, I appreciate your comment. Do past papers under timed conditions, and mark it to see what you get. If your mark is particularly low, then yea you probably do want to spend more time revising. For past papers you can also search up the grade boundaries
If you are happy with the mark, then I guess you are doing enough. But instead of just doom scrolling in that free time, I would recommend doing productive things. Reading, exercise, meditate etc
Don't just waste it. This will make you feel more confident and fulfilled

I mean, there are better things you can do with your time than gaming. I would suggest that prioritise other things: studying, exercise, meditation, reading. Then add in gaming if you have time.
Regarding English. Thats a tough one. I was not good at revising English. I just made loads of essay plan on the book and context we were doing. I would suggest reading to help with your vocab

Well there in 2 months now just finished my last set of mocks and I got a pass on math’s barely I got the exact amount of marks needed for a pass and that was after recounting my marks and got 1 extra mark which got me that lovely pass but it’s not the same if u don’t do the same or more in your actual gcse does it 😂😂😂😂

If you got 8s in mocks, you will probably get 9s in the exams. Just keep doing what you're doing. Make sure you doing the past papers. Stay on top of things and you should be good

I do that as I pay a lot of attention in class, I listen to every single word. But outside of schools my prep is low.

Just follow the tips in the video, past papers and flashcards.
If your getting 7s then just do past papers, but if lower then you need to go over content with flashcards

Just keep doing the past paper questions I would suggest for now. If you know the content pretty well then you probably just need to learn how to answer the exam questions, which comes from actually doing them. So keep doing what you are doing.
If you don't see any improvement though, it does mean that you will need to revise the content.

It kinda depends on your exam board, but just make sure you feel prepared. And remember its just mocks, they aren't that important.

Watch videos on YT. Just search up whatever topic you are studying. Watch the video once, then make notes, trying to remember as much as you can from the vid. Then rewatch the vids, adding anything u missed to ur notes.

For each grade you get now, I think you could bump it up by 2. Of course this depends on how hard you work and your discipline, but yea I do think you can get there bro

Don't worry man this happens to loads of people, and used to happen to me. I would do loads of revision but during exams I just forget all that shit. What I would suggest is first, before every exam, when you are sitting at the desk, take some deep breaths. Try to make yourself completely present. Even do some meditation in the morning, that will really help.
Also, just tell yourself that you have prepared sufficiently (and make sure you have), so you should be fully confident.

Your in year 10 bro, don't worry. Even if you get bad in these mocks, they aren't that important. Just use them to see where your lack of knowledge is

Do past papers, and if you notice significant flaws (like if your getting less that 70% lets say), then I would say do some note taking and then come back later once you have revised the topic

I can't answer that question for you bro. It depends on how much you know now, and how well you learn. Tailor how much you study by how much you need to learn, how much content you need to cover.

Even if they are 30 mins. Do some everyday. And make them in an order so you are doing like notes in one session, and then past paper questions based on those notes.

Flashcards are really good, but I would say now is the time to start past papers. Because you still have time, you don't need to do loads. Just do a few a week, and pair them with past exam questions

Study using youtube and stuff. The difference between foundation and higher isn't that big (I think). Tbh just check out the higher papers. Try learning one topic. If it is too difficult or takes too much time, then stick with foundation

For sure. You could even get to a 6 or 7.
Up to a 6 or 7, you just need a basic and broad knowledge of all the content for the subject. You don't need to go into the details of the topic.
So I would recommend just using a textbook or youtube to learn the content
