    I always took Dooku’s revelation of Sidious as him trying to begin sowing mistrust between the Jedi and the Republic, that if they believed the Sith controlled the Senate, then they would be more likely to move against them, which would serve Sidious’s plan to eventually turn the Jedi into the villains

    Dooku's death in Episode III signified the decline of the CIS. Grievous went into hiding on Utapau with the rest of the CIS leadership afterwards! So yes if Mace killed Dooku then the Clone Wars would have ended before they truly began. Sidious would need to devise a new plan to eliminate the Jedi and execute Order 66.

    nothing was Windu's fault. He acted merely out of instinct at that moment on the balcony. It's a natural response to do what you can to survive. Besides; The Clone Wars was the pinnacle of Anakin's prophecy.

    • @jerichamesclammay3107
      @jerichamesclammay3107 4 роки тому +2

      @Shayan calm down. Of course he's flawed. He wouldn't be a human being if he wasn't. And he was indeed short-sighted. He was no more different than the rest of The Jedi Order. They were all temple monks with a narrow-minded view of control and order.
      And he wasn't going around making decisions for everybody, the council made the decisions. Himself included.
      And he couldn't see ahead. If he could, he'd have known that not making Anakin a jedi master would eventually come back to bite him in the ass then destroy The Order.

    • @jerichamesclammay3107
      @jerichamesclammay3107 4 роки тому

      @Shayan ok, I was probably going too far with that "calm down" there. Sorry. Just when you put the "maybe" lable there, I thought you were denying it. Thought you were a blm supporter. My bad.
      Once again; my bad. You're absolutely right that the jedi make their decisions from all aspects.
      However I'll have to disagree with you on Windu making the big decisions. The way I see it; the council make the decisions, that's why it's called a council.
      And yes, once again, you're right. Sidious was indeed the devil. And Anakin sold his soul to him out of pure selfishness. Failing to earn Windu's trust.
      And Luke was correct when he said Windu was going to save The Galaxy all those years ago. His father would have made the right choice letting Windu kill Sidious.
      and I 100% agree with that fact. Windu was indeed everything you described him as. All I'm saying is the jedi back in those times were a dogmatic organisation under The Republic's wing.

    • @jerichamesclammay3107
      @jerichamesclammay3107 4 роки тому

      @Shayan I've been through enough fucking Star Wars arguments. Believe me.
      ? I don't remember mentioning enforcing teaching the ways of The Dark Side, but ok.
      And actually, love was strictly forbidden in The Jedi Order until Luke reformed it.
      as for Ahsoka, I'm not a fan of Filoni's clone wars, so, no. I don't accept that as canon.
      no need to apologise. That was on me. Foolish assumption

      @jerichamesclammay3107 4 роки тому

    Technically, the rule of 2 did, and did not exist. During the Clone War, Sidious had Dooku as an apprentice. However, when he found that Maul was alive and training Savage, he dueled them both and killed Savage, as we know. However, if Sidious wanted to completely obey said rule, he would have also killed Maul. By not killing Maul, 3 Sith existed, Sidious, Dooku, and Maul. Fast forward to Revenge of the Sith, Sidious, in a way, had Dooku killed so that he (Sidious) could later take Anakin as his apprentice, Darth Vader. With this in mind, the rule does exist, however Sidious bent the rule/doctrine to his will, therefor leaving the rule of 2 with no value.

    I personally think dooku would have destroyed sidious and the sith given the chance. The council could not do what was necessary. so dooku did join the dark side but dooku always seemed to be a calm sith. Not really a power crazy yellow eyed corrupted sith. I do think he did partially create the separatist because the republic was corrupt and it needed order. I personally think dooku had more reasons and in Cannon and Legends he shows similar signs that he like his apprentic quigon did question the council and did what needed to be done. I think he revealed himself to obi wan to destroy sidious and rebuild the republic and he would betray and go rogue from sidious. Dooku never seemed full on Evil Sith Lord and if he couldn't persuade people like obi wan his apprentices apprentice to join him that road was a dead end and he had to go the way he did. I also recon yes gunray could a escape Canon or Legends grievous also helped and killed jedi to stay undetected that's an interesting story...but also Dooku to show off his power as an insult to the council and his former master Yoda.

    1) Jedi don’t allow multiple padawans, like the rule of two.
    2) Dooku was emotional about QGJ and Kenobi was the only link. I think Sidious would not have been pleased with turning Kenobi. He would have enjoyed watching the two former Jedi battle to be his apprentice. The question is, why would Dooku, older and wiser than Palpatine, submit to him. He could see the Jedi Order had for all intents and purposes fallen upon its own sword. His ultimate aim was, at least originally, to destroy the Jedi Order that it could be reforged from its shards into what the Order had been intended from the start.

Given that Maul wouldn’t have the charisma and eloquence of Dooku, I’m sure Maul wouldn’t have a problem with it, seeing as how he led crime syndicates with such ease.

    In regards to Dooku,
    Dooku revealed his alliance with Sidious to Obi-Wan because he could sense treachery in his Master. By converting Obi-Wan, or at the very least revealing the secret plans to him. Should Sidious betray Dooku, then maybe he could be stopped by the Jedi or the combined effort of him and Obi-Wan.
    I think Sidious would still be able to defeat a combined attack from Dooku and Obi-Wan. The face of betrayal on Dooku in Revenge of the Sith is a proof of Dooku's worry of being betrayed by Sidious.
    I think Dooku would have never left the Jedi Ordwr, if they had decided to remove themselves from the republic and no longer be under the republics jurisdiction.

    Playing along with this, Yoda was senile and complacent. Mace was too afraid of is own self, and ki adi mundi lacked the courage to voice his opinion. The jedi had incredible strength and all kinds of resourdes, but they blew it because waiting is not always the right choice. really living is probably in the moment. "I KnOw! Just imagine a Jedi Order not on Coruscant. A Jedi Order, not under the thumb of the Republica. I could see a very different versions of events unfolding.

    sith are always working to betray eachother. palpatine was grooming anakin by ep2 and dooku was manipulating obi wan to unite and defeat his master. its how the sith operate. also he was said to be a political idealist, so i think he revealed this to obi wan because he is convinced that they can unite the galaxy and the republic through violence. he is a hybrid of dark side force and arrogance. he is not fully consumed with a quest for power or for hatred of others. he doesn't have any sith eyes or anything that would indicate a full embrace of that power.

    I think the rule of two was really a way to consolidate power among the Sith. By limiting the number of "true" Sith, they limit the mindset of their assasins and acolytes, trapping them into servitude and negating in fighting at the leadership levels. I have a theory that if Count Dooku wasn't a political figurehead for the CIS, then Asaaj would have been allowed to take his place if she grew powerful enough, thus becoming Palpatine's apprentice. At least until Anakin would arrive.

  • @charelzJ
    @charelzJ 4 роки тому

    Concerning the rule of 2, Acolytes, and the inquisitors... After Palps became emperor he discarded the rule of 2 and went with the 1 Sith philosophy. Where he wouldn't follow Darth Banes teachings. That he would train up force sensitives to a point of competence in the use of the force but he wouldn't train them to a point that they would be able to defeat him. That coupled with his essence transfer ability he never imagined he'd have to give up control. Furthermore I believe that the rule of 2 was followed up until the death of Plagueis...

    Isn't that just the nature of the Dark Side? Seeking power, mistrust, betrayal, etc? M0st of the Sith and even the Sith Assassin's all sought greater power an their own 2nd in a sense at on point or another. Minus Plagueis if I'm not mistaken...

  • @unLUCKY95
    @unLUCKY95 4 роки тому

    I think with regards to the point about characters like Ventress and the Inquisitors being trained by Sith, we have to take into account that they were merely trained as weapons to do tasks that the Sith found to be beneath them. Their training seemed deliberately limited. Dooku clearly didn't teach Ventress like Palpatine taught him, and they always seem to ensure that they don't become powerful enough to surpass them. I think Ventress was far more powerful and better trained than any of the Inquisitors, and that was deliberate, as she was a lone dark side warrior up against an entire order of powerful Jedi, while the Inquisitor's were numerous and only existed to hunt down the weaker, scattered Jedi that had survived order 66. If the Grand Inquisitor had been as well trained as Ventress, who frequently held her own against the likes of Anakin and Obi-Wan, there's no way he would have lost to Kanan in Rebels. Also, if these dark acolytes show any sign of weakness, they are instantly executed by one of the two Sith Lords. The Sith also tend to quickly decide to make an attempt at killing them whenever they show that they're starting to grow to a point where they could rival the current Sith Lord's, which we see happen with Ventress and, even though he's not canon, Starkiller, and Maul, who Palpatine kept a close eye on but largely ignored until he began to grow in power. I think Vader also did a much better job of keeping the Inquisitor's in line through fear than Dooku did with Ventress and Savage - he made sure they knew that he was far more powerful than them, so they were beyond terrified of him and wouldn't dare step out of line. If they did step out of line or show any sign of weakness, Vader would effortlessly execute them as an example, as we see in Fallen Order.

    • @paulfaggart3423
      @paulfaggart3423 4 роки тому

      @arronnov this is true. This was anakin's defining moment. And think about what's going on in mace's mind at the time. He'd just seen the most powerful being in the universe unleash and kill 3 jedi masters and probably felt lucky to have beaten Sidious. Anything could've happened had he decided to arrest him. Now, I heard one of the star wars channels, maybe this one 😂, say that had he arrested Palpatine anakin wouldn't have felt betrayed and even more confused about what to do. This is true, but anakin still knew what was right and wrong, and knew immediately that he had chosen evil over good. It was still his moment, and there was no excuse. There was no morally wrong way for mace to go about it. Anakins confusion aside mace made the best call. And who's to say that anakin bringing balance couldn't have been over a series of years, eventually replacing yoda as the master of the order and changing the unnecessary traditions and ideology held by the jedi. Attachments should never have been against the code. Love and attachments were for everyone. This never excluded jedi, and in the end love and attachments give people a stronger will to do what's right than anything.

    I always thought of the rule of two as limiting a master from training multiple apprentices.
    You always have the secondary or additional sith being trained by the apprentice rather than the master.
    The master has an apprentice to prevent them from being complacent and to keep gaining power to avoid being killed by their apprentice.
    The apprentice is always looking for an apprentice of their own to help them overthrow the master.
    Hence Sidious trains Maul, Dooku trains Ventress, Maul trains Savage, Vader trains the inquisitors and starkiller; with the intent of overthrowing the master.
    The master never trains another apprentice unless they are going to cast their former apprentice aside as Sidious was going to do with Vader if Luke turned to the dark side.

    I thinkj the Rule of Two was followed. You always want to make sure you have someone to take your spot, when you become the person who is in charge. Say your Manager is leaving the company and the higher ups want you to take his/her spot. Who will do the work that you did in your previous position? So it makes since, you would hire and train that individual to do your work, so you won't have to do two jobs at the same time . Plus it saves you the hassle/time of looking for someone later on down the road.
