The Mandalorians are a race, which is a fundamental thing that they got completely wrong with the Mandalorian. The empire would never be able to wipe out an entire people as militant as the mandalorians.

Dooku held great influence in the Galaxy, wealthy without rival, one of the greatest swordsmen and Force users in the galaxy. The Sith Grand Plan owes an incalculable amount to Tyranus. He funded the GAR, found Jango Fett for the Clone Army while also eliminating the Bando Gora as a threat in the same plan, he unified and built the CIS with his charisma, reputation and diplomatic skills turning the disparate fragments into a functional threat all without the Jedi realizing it. He recruited and trained Ventress, Grievous, Durge and the Dark Adepts, he caused a schism in the Jedi Order and held back from killing Anakin several times throughout the war while helping Palpatine increase his own political power. Palpatine literally could not have pulled off his plan without Dooku. With all of that and Dooku nearing the end of knowledge he could learn as a Sith apprentice, it was time to replace him with someone younger and easier to manipulate. Dooku would never have rivaled Palpatine in power, but he could have in influence and that was a threat.

Dooku could rival Palpatine in power if he mastered force drain to a level higher then Sidious did or if he mastered essense transfer unbeknownst of Sidious knowledge otherwise in the force he is no match.

Dooku is and has always been my favorite character in the Star Wars series. I believe Palpatine had Dooku intentionally lose his duel to Anakin in order to coerce or manipulate Anakin in turning to the Dark side unbeknownst that Palpatine would use that opportunity to have him killed. This further supports the theory that Palpatine was threatened by what Dooku could become.

This is true. Palpatine ordered Dooku to only toy with Anakin prior to the actual duel. Dooku was only overpowered because toying with Anakin made Anakin use the dark side, and then Palpatine ordered Anakin to kill Dooku. Additionally, Palpatine needed Dooku dead not only because of he was a potential rival but because Palpatine wanted Anakin as an apprentice, which couldn’t happen while Dooku was an apprentice to Palpatine.

He didn’t have a heavy metal album like Christopher Lee
Compared to Darth Maul and Vader, Dooku was not only very powerful in the Force, he was very intelligent and charismatic when it comes to politics and strategy. This is likely why Plagueis was interested in Dooku as an Apprentice in contrast to Maul who is relegated as a Sith Assassin.
True Plagueis And Sidious both showed more interest in Dooku then Maul seeing Dooku as a powerful ally even when Dooku was still a Jedi in TPM circa Dooku was naturally gifted in the force and his mastery and potential and midichlorian count was no joke it was slightly higher then Plaguies and others including Mace and everyone else except for Sidious, Yoda, The Skywalkers, Mereks, Abeloth, Father, Son, And Daughter oh yeah. Also Dookus philosophy and political acumen as well as wealth and status and influence as well as lightsaber skills also saw him as someone they wanted on there side for those reasons too. Maul was useful for his unarmed combat skills and for his use with a double bladed lightsaber that most force users were not ready for and that was pretty much it in Legends at least based on most statements and Anakin was useful for not only for his great force potential even higher then The Mereks, Yodas, Sidious, Abeloth, The Father, The Son, And The Daughter as well as his piloting, mechanical, military, and lightsaber skills as well.

In Clone Wars season 7 I would love to see Count Dooku and Grevious play a big role. In Episode III Grevious mentions he was trained in the Jedi arts by Count Dooku. You can see scenes of that in the old Clone Wars cartoon before that movie came out. But so far in the new Clone Wars we have never seen Grevious and Dooku train together. Not to mention Grevious was defeated by Gungans in season 4 he desperately needs a character push right now. I would love to see Count Dooku give Grevious some further training to make him a beast and then send him to kidnap Palpatine in the finale to lead us right into Episode III.
I feel like Palpatine was just more evil than both Dooku and Plagueis so if he was replaced it wouldn't have been as evil and i dont think order 66 would have happened.

Well, for one thing, Dooku's apprentice never even attempted to throw him down a shaft
I think Palp and Dooku were almost equally strong and powerful. Especially after hearing that story I wonder why Dooku accepted him as his master, despite him being younger than himself. It also could have been the other way around, imagine if Palp would've been Dookus apprentice.
Sidious new more about the Dark Side so Dooku had to accept him as Master. And maybe they did duel and Sidious gained the upper hand because Dooku is legitimately afraid of Sidious. That said, Sidious also feared him. In Darth Plagueis it is made clear that Plagueis considered Dooku the better swordsman and a proper replacement for Sidious without losing much. Dooku is unique as a Sith Apprentice insofar as he was venerable a master himself of the highest level. Dooku could have easily been Grand Master of the Jedi or Lord Paramount of the Sith in his own right but for being alive in the time of Yoda and Palpatine. And for that reason he was always the biggest threat to Palpatine. Dooku could have killed Palpatine and not missed a beat as the Master Sith. And the grand plan still works, except with the CIS conquering the Republic. Dooku knew of Order 66 and no doubt could have given the order himself.
I think that after Palp killed Plaguise, he also absorbed his essence as part of the rule of 2, making him much more powerful. I can't remember where i heard this from though.
Dooku first was more interested in his idealist believe to reform the republic, destroy the huge corruption of the senate and the dogmatic static beliefs of the jedi council and safe/help his population on serano as count. somewhen there he turned dark and accepted sidious as leader who introduced him into the plan of the clone wars and funding the CIS with his diplomatic strengths. Such a great underrated character who wasnt that well unfolded in the movies and Clone Wars serie.
From episode 2 it could be assumed that Dooku was maybe actually interested to get allied with Obi-Wan or the Jedis to overthrow Sidious before the clone wars starts/ends as he knew Sidious is playing CIS and Republic against each other to legitimate the forming of the empire and distract and eliminate the jedi order.

I don't even consider Dooku Sith. He was more like a gray Jedi.
I’d say a dark Jedi (undeniably uses the dark side, but does not show the power hungry qualities that define the Sith).
He was also completely right about the corruption of the republic and subsequently the Jedi order. He was a good man who went looking for answers, became disillusioned by what he found, then compromised to kind of make it work.
(I would argue he’s a better version of Saruman, which I have to think George Lucas was thinking about when he designed the character)

I think he was just a classier and more controled Sith. Everything was there, the lust for power, arrogance, aggression, but it was all tempered by supreme self-control. He abnadoned the belief of a Jedi, but still kept his self-control while using Sith qualities.
Legends Dooku is way above Canon Maul
Plagueis wanted to research and gain immortality, and Dooku wanted the galaxy to have better leadership; it was Palpatine who wanted power. Had Plagueis replaced Palpatine with Dooku, I think they would have diverged from the sith ways and become more of a Dark Jedi order

The unmistakeable hole is that the Jedi would be much more wary of a known force adept as supreme chancellor. Dooku would be under much more scrutiny by them as such and if he planned to do what Sidious did it would have to be something much different than Sidious’ plan.
If Dooku became the Supreme Chancellor, maybe the plan would have been for Dooku to slowly place the Jedi more and more under Republic control, until they had a schism that way, leaving Dooku with a bunch of loyal Jedi who would help him wipe out the "traitorous" other half.
Apparently plagues could've done something when Palpatine killed him in his sleep, but in that novel it was said that plagues let Palpatine electrocute him cause plagues believed he was so powerful that death holds nothing over him, So basically he was testing himself to see if he could've survive the attack?
But who knows I haven't read a star wars novel in sometime lol.

@Harry Jacobs there has been more than one Sith at a time, e.g. the clone wars: there was 3-5 sith at once. Also training sith from children would make the empire more powerful. Lastly the rule of two is sort of unnecessary.

It’s crazy that at the time Palps and Plageus looked at Dooku as more powerful than Palps as an apprentice, but then when Palps becomes the master and has Dooku as his apprentice, it’s clear Dooku is no match for Palps. There is definitely something to becoming the master, that when an apprentice kills his master, he gets a huge influx of power that he didn’t have before. However I think all along Palps was to be more powerful than Dooku IN THE DARKSIDE because of the kind of person he is. Palps is basically a sociopath and being that way basically feeds into everything that makes the dark side powerful in someone. Basically where someone like Dooku who is power hungry and dark but only at times and can turn it off and be sensible can never get as powerful as a sociopath like Palps who never turns it off...it’s all about himself and he doesn’t care about who he hurts or destroys...that’s why when Dooku becomes Palps apprentice he gets rag dolled and force choked and cowers to him because in no way can he beat Palps on his own...even though he’s powerful. PS...it’s a pretty boss move by Palps though...the person who your master was thinking about replacing you with...you make that person YOUR apprentice and force choke his a$$ and make him kneel down to you...that’s a Master Boss move by The Senate himself
I feel like if dooku was the emperor that as a more eloquent man he would have controlled his subjects better as he even had a lot of experience. Plus he’d probably recruit Qui gin or Obi Wan to be his apprentice, most likely ignoring ore killing anikin.
He actually thought Anakin would make for a good general. He liked Obi-wan and Qui-Gon more, of course, but he definitely thought Anakin had his uses.

No it isn't. Palpatine was far more powerful than Dooku and even Mace Windu. The only one who could have killed him was Anakin without his suit. And the only who could have survived a battle with him was Yoda.

I’d imagine if Palp was replaced and Dooku was the one groomed for a seat on the senate to resurrect the Sith empire he’d probably have done it better. Something tells me that Dooku’s past as a Jedi would play a big part in his empires defence against the Jedi order returning and given his past as a count I think he’d handle his politics better in general and make less enemies to his empire while still ruling with a strong hand. I think the only place Dooku would fall short in comparison is gaining an apprentice like Anakin.

What if the Jedi forgot about the Droid attack on the Wookiee’s
It seems to me that Darth Plagueis and Count Dooku/Darth Tyranus were a better match. Both seemed like they had no issue sharing power. They likely would have figured out immortality, built a Sith army, swaying Anakin easily to lead it since they truly knew how to save people from death. If this happened I think they would have been unstoppable. I would love to see a "what if" story on that.

@@GambleMontessori Wouldn't be that much different. If Anakin dies, Palpatine would just rule the galaxy by himself. He already had enough political power to do it and enough force power to wipe out the remaining Jedi. But he would probably make his son or Rey take Vader's place down the line.

Hey SWT, can you make a video on why Luke’s Green saber was hardly in the sequel trilogy? Why do you think it was only shown in a flashback and then completely ignored when Rey buried the other 2 sabers?

Wouldn't surprised me if he kept it on the island just like Leia's. The Force projection he did in 8 being the blue one also implied he didnt cherish it as much as the blue one.
Also the entire present Sequel trilogy, Luke had no need for a lightsaber cos he gave up being a Jedi. The closest was when he fought Rey on the island but even then there was no time to grab it.

What if Ben Solo did more than what we seen as the emperor thrown him down the hole at the end...
As palpatine was swindled by Rey (which was fair) more happened! His force essence was on the move quickly after, much like in legends where he started moving to new bodies and he did survive the death star 2, why not this? He was going frantic, more desperate than ever looking for a stronger vesil...
Before long, he came across the climbing Ben Solo purposly searching for him. He would of said something menacingly as a disfigured ghost essence terrifyingly began to float towards a struggling Ben. As he sensed the disturbing aura in the force he jumped, doing a front flip while moving backwards, for the high ground and shouted something like "it's over palpatine, you have lost".
Lost... maybe, but done he was not as the bit of ground he had found was getting smaller and smaller as the emperor slowly closed in to claim himself a very powerful weaked body.
A body of a Skywalker...
And then turned Palpatine, imagine the power... Ben felt cold but did not give in to fear, not even a little as all he was thinking was to join up with Rey! No longer did he feel fear or pain, he was done with that... He reached out with the force and stood the ghostly dark matter in place. Now standing up to him saying the same Luke told him himself decades ago, I won't join you it's over your highness. He would have none of this as you can imagine...
The movies last fight in the whole Skywalker Saga ends as an epic fight with only use of the force

Dooku only lost to Anakin because he was just toying with him.
CawCaw KawKaw No, at best you partially attribute his loss to fatigue but in just about every adaptation of the fight Anakin legitimately overcomes Dooku.
Edit: An excerpt from the ROTS novelization stating Dooku was not holding back-
"[Dooku thought]: These clowns might-just possibly-actually be able to beat him. No sense taking chances; even his Master would agree with that. Lord Sidious could come up with a new plan more easily than a new apprentice." This sounds to me like he decided to take them on with full strength so as not to risk his own life.”
Ultimate Bladelock I thought I read somewhere that sidious wanted dooku to go soft on anakin. Dooku was arguably the beat swordsmen around. Sidious wouldn’t gamble that fight.
Luke Dekker The initial goal was to turn him yes but toward the end of the fight Dooku was fighting for his life. In the novel he was forced into a purely defensive stance no longer able to redirect and evade Anakin’s strikes eventually being overwhelmed. Logistically it makes sense Makashi’s weakness as a form is its lack of kinetic output.
I agree with Ultimate Bladelock. Dooku’s lightsaber form, combined with his lesser stamina, gives him little chance against a force user that fights as aggressively as Anakin. Add in the fact that Anakin’s feelings about his severed hand were in the mix, and it’s no wonder that Dooku lost.
CawCaw KawKaw yeah anakin had potential to be the best ever but he was barely 23-24 years old. A lot to learn. There’s a reason why he lost to obi won, even though he was a sixth at that point

One question you never answered, what would’ve happened if Anakin and Obi-Wan gave up their lightsabers when Count Dooku said “your swords please” in Revenge of the Sith?
