Absolutely - speaking to our friends daily to keep updated and sending thanks to all the volunteers and locals workings so hard to get some control over the fires 🙏
Even if it's not in your budget to take a hot air balloon ride it's still magical to see the balloons during sunrise. Sunset also was incredible just a little bit outside the city area.

Wonderful information to keep handy for the To Do List. Thank you for sharing this with all of us. You two could retire in Turkey later on and become tour guides as a part time income. Well done! Looking forward to the next adventure.
I hope you are away from harm's way and not affected by the wildfires. I'll continue to keep you in my prayers for safety and protection. Thank you for all the wonderful tips about Cappadocia. Maybe visiting next year. Take care❤

Choices, choices, choices! Mrs. P. and I pick one of each, please & thank you. The look on Marianne's face when the testi kebab pot opens gives me a big smile every time you show the clip. And the shot of Göreme at dusk as the lights are coming on is *sooo* beautiful! Seeing it with one's own eyes must be breathtaking. ❤❤😎👍xx
I miss Bodrum , Rabbit island and Fetye. The greek tile work found at rabbit island where amazing , some of it was taken before I left 10 years ago . such a lovely bay.
Maşaallah. You've made a professional presentation of Cappadocia.Thank you very much indeed.I think you should be offered honorary citizenship of Turkey.

Thanks for the tip! No we haven't - yes our hearts are heavy for all those affected - sending our thanks to all the firefighters, volunteers and locals all helping out 🌺
Hi guys, Don't you think you missed something or neglected it? The forests that you made us watch with admiration for a year are now on fire. It's very sad that you didn't make a live video about this, at least expressing your sadness and opinions. At least you owe Turkey that. All the best, Utkan
Hi Utkan - thanks for your comment and yes the wildfires in Turkey is a HUGE tragedy. We have shared posts on Social Media and we have added a clip at the end of todays video. The fires have been covered by all major international news channels and have been televised worldwide. We are not near the fires and so what we know is what the news channels have reported. We are in regular contact with our friends around Turkey and have put links in the description of tonights video for people to help. We did offer to go back and help but all of the people in the affected areas said that it would not help and that we would be using valuable resources - best to leave it to the professionals. These wild fires are a global problem right now and our thoughts and prayers are with everyone in the affected areas.
Can you tell me the best route to drive from UK to Turkey? I don't think the ferries between Greece and Turkey are operating, so wondered what would be the best driving route TIA 🤗👍
Hi Sandra - we have an app called polarsteps on our website - you can see the route we took - but due to covid we are not sure the regulations / rules that are in place at the moment. M
I have been following the Turkish news channels on the forest fires there in Turkey. There is talk about sabotage and fire starting deliberately by some organisation. The devastation caused by these fires are heart breaking. Coverage showing animals burnt alive and people's farms and homes being burnt to the ground. It has shown families with nothing left and no money to start again. I hope and pray that their government will compensate these poor people.
Hi Linda - yes there is complete tragedy here at the moment - we are not near the areas and we haven't see it with our own eyes- but we get regular updates from our friends - Dekafok is ok - we have use some of the TREAD Turtle funds to distribute water and fruit to those who are volunteering and our friends are working hard to help in the surrounding villages too - it is a tragedy and our prayers and thoughts go out to those affected - Marianne xx
